Bandwidth-optimized VPS in Cyprus or Malta

I'm looking for a VPS in Cyprus or Malta. Other islands on the Mediterranean sea may also work.

Minimum requirements:

  • 1 vCPU (E5-26xx v4 or better preferred)
  • 1.5 GB RAM
  • 5 GB storage (any type)
  • Unmetered bandwidth @ 30 Mbps or 100 Mbps @ 10 TB/month
  • $100/year in cryptocurrency when paid annually or triennially (flexible)

I will be a long-term customer. My intention is to run a Tor middle relay (not an exit). I do not need a DMCA-ignored or bulletproof host and I do not expect any abuse complaints. Dual stack network strongly preferred.

I did look into @hostingb2b, but their terms seem to be extremely anti-privacy and seem not to distinguish between Tor middle relays (risk equivalent of a private VPN) and Tor exit relays (risk equivalent of an open proxy).

I would also like to avoid 4vps ("GLOBAL CONNECTIVITY SOLUTIONS LLP") due to quality concerns.

Maybe just post an offer in a new thread :) TierHive is looking for a new node, it was going to be in Poland... it could just as easy be in Portugal.

    @euronodes said: Cyprus-registered

Are you based in Cyprus personally?

Yes Im in Cyprus :) TierHive told me on Reddit DM to go and touch grass :D Cyprus is no-go for commercial hosting: 1Gbit symmetric for the datacenter costs, brace yourself, 8 THOUSAND EURO!
Yes, 8k for 1Gbit. So Limassol is covering only clients who pay their own connections (maritime)
    Charms of islands, I guess
As for Portugal, we have Sines connected and direct EllaLink to Brasil (Fortaleza) but not tested yet. Till end of May we will have it available for public access.

You can pretty much forget Malta.
Datacenter and hosting marketed there is more or less fully targeted towards those that absolutely need to host there for legal reasons.
So usually banks and gambling stuff, with an unlimited budget.

You kinda have the option to either make your yearly budget a monthly one.
Or find some Maltese person who offers you a raspberry in their closet.
(Since consumer internet is actually reasonable priced in comparison to what the 2 DCs there will offer you)

Yeah it seems like it. I can potentially double my budget but definitely not make it monthly!
