    Actually ME and PSP are quite important for modern security. Without them you lose significant important features like (proper) IOMMU isolation, TXT, memory encryption, etc. And you can use measured boot to ensure that they haven't been tampered with to add a backdoor.

    That script can't handle resizes. Running --help does nothing (though thankfully the comments show the flags), and -h or -help causes a bug:

    The misleadingly-named --no-color works though, but it should instead be called something like --no-tui. Perhaps that could get renamed? Or split into its own option so one could have a grayscale TUI or colored output without having to disable both at once. Would also be nice if it could stick to unicode that renders on a typical VT, or to have an option.

    Another suggestion would be not to use dd for memory bandwidth since it's not going to be accurate at all.

    Same with the SHA256 hashing, not only because that can change drastically based on the presence of SHA-NI, but because the sha256sum utility isn't as optimized as OpenSSL's implementation. Plus, since you're piping to it, you're also indirectly polluting the measurement with context switching overhead. Why not just use openssl speed?

    Additionally, the multi-core benchmarks aren't going to be accurate without setting CPU affinity, and there are a lot of unnecessary uses of awk for parsing (bash can do that kind of parsing natively).

    It's pretty in TUI mode, but at the moment, it's inferior to YABS (except for showing CPU steal and jitter, which is a nice touch). As it stands, the disk I/O trace and sustained tests, non-Geekbench CPU benchmark, and memory benchmark tests are so inaccurate that they're currently worse than nothing, and the network test leaves out critical information.

    Some extra feedback:

    • GB7 fails to run due to having only 2 GB RAM. It should switch to GB6 if RAM < 4 GB and GB4 if RAM < 2 GB.
    • The speedtest doesn't show what network the connections are for, just the country. For this use-case, it would be better to use iperf3 anyway, as the speedtest CLI doesn't show the network being used.
    • There's no need to do a multi-core run (openssl speed -multi 1) if there's only one core.
    • The tmpfs write test doesn't really test memory bandwidth, it tests VFS overhead.
    • It's still using dd for memory bandwidth which is not just inaccurate, but measures the wrong thing.
    • SHA-256 test is more optimized now, but still severely inaccurate for measuring CPU performance due to SHA-NI (which can cause an inaccuracy with a factor of 50x or more).
    • The "CPU consistency" check is inaccurate due to it only testing SHA-256, which uses components whose consistency characteristics differ significantly under load.
    • In addition to checking for AES-NI, it should also check for (and report) AVX/AVX2/AVX512, etc.
    • The disk I/O write trace is useless when using dd because you aren't using direct I/O mode.
    • There's still a lot of unnecessary awk usage and awkward bash usage, but that's not a functional issue.

    It might be a fun idea to experiment with running this with a real-time scheduling policy to improve benchmark accuracy, btw.
