Does the Micro plan support email aliases? If yes, how many aliases are included per mailbox or per account, and do aliases count toward the 20-mailbox limit?

Side note, I received the recurring 17% discount, but it doesn't appear to be reflected in the plan at all. Will it renew with the discount?

Sharing my experience with MailBig's $6/year email plan (found them here on LET) since it confused me for a bit.

Signup was quick and easy. Once in the control panel, you can add your domain and create email accounts right away, no errors, no warnings, everything looks fully working. I created a few mailboxes and figured I was done.

Except none of them actually sent or received any mail. Turns out adding a domain in the panel doesn't automatically connect it, you still have to manually add MX, SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records at your domain registrar. None of this is mentioned anywhere during signup or in the dashboard, so I genuinely thought something was broken for a while before realizing the domain was just never connected.

Turns out they do have a proper setup guide, it's just not linked anywhere in the signup flow or dashboard: http://mailbig.net/getting-started/

It covers everything, adding your domain, the DNS records with exact values, creating mailboxes, and email client settings. Pretty thorough, just buried.

So if you sign up, don't assume creating an email account means it's live, go read that guide first and set up your DNS before expecting anything to work. A bit of an odd setup flow, but at least the info exists once you know where to look. Currently waiting to hear back from their support on it too.

Thank you for your feedback. I agree that the signup flow can be improved further.

Since this is a custom domain email hosting service, customers are generally expected to know that the mail provider's DNS records must be configured manually, unlike the email solutions bundled with web hosting.

That said, I completely agree that I should clearly mention the proper setup process during onboarding, and I'll update that tomorrow.

As for your support ticket, you'll receive a response during our working hours.

  • @itzsenu , I received that link in an email after I placed my order. Did you not?

  • Can you change domain post purchase? I see an option for that in the panel but haven't tested it.

Yes, I know, but it can be difficult for a newbie to do this, which is why I posted it. It feels like a scam sometimes; however, it works completely fine and the pricing is more than fair for what you get. it's definitely worth a try

I tested it with two domains and it is completely fine.
