Yes, same faces — you’re absolutely right. Just to be clear, this has nothing to do with price. Most of these people make money off these promos. Look at the transfer volume and the business behind it; it’s worse than MJJ. So whenever a provider raises prices for any reason, they explode into drama because it cuts into their margins. They don’t genuinely care what the real cost is for anyone — it’s just business to them.
Most of us offer these deals with zero profit or even for free because we want to support the community. But when it turns into a blood‑sucker business for the same faces, it gets nasty — getting roasted over anything, plus dealing with spam, fraud, and abuse driven by the low‑end, low‑price mentality. So no, it’s not about price. It’s about the business these people run here or the free stuff they get, and that’s exactly why LET drama looks the way it does now.
Well yea then. Its questionable.
My Picture was different, If i read the Solidvps thread correctly, then price should increase next billing cycle. Possibly im wrong. I will read it again then.
The other side is, even for Providers with "normal" margins outside LET, its not too easy as well.
If you grow. Investments are big. So you end up to reinvest most your Profit every month if you are doing some growth and not having banks or Investors fund you (which would eat Cashflow too)
20k, 30k€ for example is easily burned even with older refurb Hardware if you got to supply a few customers.
Thats why the word greed didnt match for me. Just a different view.
And then, the most loudest customers are those who are paying less. Like Lowend.
So while you have to deal with "other Problems" you dont want a $7 suck off your energy, time and will to run the Business.
Its two sided. Customer surely works hard for his Money. But Well, so the Provider.
This being said i think more Providers from lowendtalk will do and try this so, if not leave lowend Market given the current situation. Lowend always has been a hard market and whats going on in this world is making it almost Impossible to supply this.
I feel its been going downhill here since covid already. Arround 2020/2021+
The lowendtalk has been different, better place some years ago indeed.
Correct you got my point with the Reputation thing.
You did all correctly. And do a great job also.
I got roasted for saying the same but i can undertand it. Its indeed what i saw too.
LET can be Hackforums 2012.
While you get roasted same time for advertising on Hackforums in the past. Which is funny considering the amount of abuse coming from this forum
I can beat that
I have a whole drama on ±1 USD on cashback math that accounting and Stu messed up.
as they did not agree on the end and start date date.
Yet shit post aside, yes, I can vouch that those that cheer here when they grab the 5 USD deal will be also the first to burn you alive for whatever reason you cannot hold your promise till the end.
So very different views on Loyalty and Reputation.
See my point exactly, different views, from different seats and positions.
One from a user wide and one from a provider side.
See. I dont want to get "unsuspended" here
The end is nigh.
LET has always been better $x years ago. It's the same as with pretty much everything else.
In general i kind of agree with you though. Maybe not in some omg-so-horrible kind of way (LET has always been kind of a take it or leave it thing where you never really knew what you'd get). If i were to be asked what i see as the biggest problem it's pretty much that the self police is kinda slacking these days.
Like you already observed there's somewhat of a shift in the audience and many of the people that theoretically would know better either don't really care enough to draw lines regarding stupid shit or they just can't be everywhere every time. It's also likely regularly just somewhat thankless.
Besides that i see a lot of people basically just repeating stuff they saw elsewhere without putting much thought into it at all. Like there was some kind of LET rule book that applies universally and fits any given situation there might be. Short: Lots of conformist shit with little measure or nuance and a metric fuckton of ADHD riddled hyperbole.

If you have a contract that says they can't do this, sue them for breach of contract. Otherwise, you are out of luck - welcome to capitalism, everyone is out to get you at all times.
Before 2008, everything was better
The story of the Leman Brothers was the first signal for all of humanity.
"Greedy" for the millionth time? Give it a rest. Expecting to beholden to money losing deal forever is insane.
Samsung memory made more money in one year than their entire company history combined. This shit ain't natural.
That could very well be the case or was it maybe even better before 2004 when Facebook was created? Before 2003 because Myspace was just as bad as Facebook back then? There is a lot of possible betters
Not even that drastically.
No, they could have planned well in advance, but that just gives more time to move and lose the renewal so it's not for their benefit to give advance notice.
Cheap things are cheap, until they are not cheap, then you cancel the no-longer-cheap things and get other cheap things. Every once and a while there's a unicorn cheap thing that stays a cheap thing - isn't that kinda how its always been!?! I do not understand.
They're not valid.
You keep saying businesses are not forced to be in business.
An argument against the term "greed" is that the customer is not forced to renew and pay the increase. It's just an offer they can refuse without penalty.
Having no alternative and being forced to pay an unexpected increase would have helped your argument.
For other providers, I can understand the other party argument but I don't think particularly you have the ground to make the same claims since multiple customers of you have posted here stating they tried to contact you (for refund against cancelling service from your side/support for existing ones) through various channels including LET but you were no where to be seen. You have lots of time to reply in chit chat thread like this yet, many customers were waiting for just a communication with you for their resolution.
It seems like, you talk about principles/obstacles/behaviour of people but all goes out of the window when the subject is yourself.
$7.
The only provider left with goodwill is Oracle and its miracle.
Let me ask you a question. On a scale from 1 to 10 how good would you think you'd do selling something like $0.75/m VPS (the profit you make buys you a small bun each month... maybe) to the crowd that frequents this site (keep in mind the posts you regularly see are actually the people who are mentally capable of doing more than accusing you of being a scammer, demanding random freebies in tickets or DMs, expecting that you translate their Chinese messages, host phishing sites on your servers or whatever other degenerate shit crosses their mind right now)?
Also what do you think are the chances of you stopping to give much of a shit when you realize you are taking a ton of abuse over something that hardly makes you any money while you could use your time on something that actually gets you ahead and doesn't include being yelled at regularly?
These questions are kind of rhetorical. You don't have to answer if you don't want to. The bottom line is pretty much that with a bunch of people around here it's pretty easy to envision them buying some cheap Chinese plastic junk for $0.50, being all shocked and angry when it predictably breaks and then raging for like a week when the factory in China ignores them. Yeah, the quality sucks but at that price anything else would have been plain lucky. You weren't lucky and it sucks. Agreed but now get over it.
The crazy thing is that this shit pretty much also exists in reverse when some group (i'm using the term loosely - there's no group but rather some kind of mob mentality) has decided that any kind complaining is off limits and whoever complains therefore is a MJJ. Holy fucking brain damage.
Nahh, best i can do is $3
cmon, its $3.2!
basically, hosting industry is a mature market which developed for many years. their profit is somehow fixed. so it's reasonable to raise price in some degree as a long-run provider in the current AI pressure.
for customers, the real danger is some market policies looks good at first but smells like stunt.
