Friends,Really ? Friends or yourself.
Just smuggle it through Singapore like everyone else.
i can't afford it , if i have that money, i will not mess with this AI thing
Singapore has the server in stock? i just walk in and buy it??
Please buy Huawei products instead.
Can Huawei products run crysis?
I'm not really into that topic but if there's some kind of formal export ban you might want to familiarize yourself with that. Even if you decide to ignore it in the end you'll at least know what might happen if things go wrong. Running afoul of internationally hot topics and finding out about the consequences on the spot might not be the most pleasant thing.
Ascend?it's not for rookies, you need a RD team to run LLM on it
They can, but the framerate will be low.
since when people care about the export ban? ALL AI chips in China were sold by Americans
Well, it's usually those that run into trouble who end up caring. But carry on. Don't let me distract you. It's going to be alright by default, i guess.
How many social credits will you gain if you manage to smuggle one in?
Sorry, no can do. All top end chip are belong to The Donald, if you want them you'll have to make a deal with him directly.
what is social credits?
although tang is historical name in china

take this
you mean this one? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Social_credit_system
you really believe it? if you are making jokes, i am cool, but if you really believe it, it is a joke itself
looks like some people are very easy to cheat
nah it's a joke, search up in tiktok or ig you would see some funny, no cheat
Oh pleease, give us a break, stop being disingenuous .
You're the one who is working hard to earn social credit, you know what it is much better than anyone else here.
You are fully involved in it!
And Supermicro got caught.
What was your point?
alright, if i smuggle one server into China, the Gov. will give me a $7/yr VPS for free
that's it, very good deal
Social credits are a meme. It's roughly equivalent to credit scores here in the US, but centralized rather than privatized.
You earn social credits by paying back loans fast, assisting police, or donating to charity and lose social credits by dodging debts, committing infractions like red light violations, or ordering take-out but not picking it up and paying.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Social_Credit_System#Misconceptions
... and pay with his cryptoscam, uhm, "currency".
WUT? That sounds actually reasonable and useful!
Those damn chinese commies, how dare they not only punishing criminals but also rewarding decently behaving people?!
Indeed! There are definitely issues with China in regards to personal freedom and privacy, but the idea of the social credit system is nothing like what the West assumes it is and it irks me when people perpetuate myths.
I wouldn't really say that (at least outside of pop culture). It might not have been heavily publicized (for rather obvious reasons) but the overall concept has actually been studied and the idea of being able to punish unruly plebs without having to go through banks and all that was kinda well received (not really all that practical in most general cases). I figure with nudging and such basically being accepted ways of shaping societies that's hardly much of a surprise though. A lot of the moralistic finger pointing in regards to some kind of supposed values is simply for show.
Could you please enumerate some of all those that did not get caught? Or better still, those that are actively doing it now and will never get caught. I'm pretty sure lots of people would love to see those lists.
Erm... what was your point, again?
Not exactly that, you'll make them so happy that they'll let you have a FULL RACK for $7/yr. Even two, maybe. Or more.
yes, 2 bad Americans got caught, and BTW they made tens of millions
the only question is how much is the bail
i'll send you a free $7/yr for promote the social credits to the world
once i got it
Guess you better make a couple millions on this then. As is even getting some kind of legal counsel to tell you that announcing such stuff to the internet isn't a great idea would put you into deep red numbers.
I mean, it's not like this matters to me. I'm just amazed at the nothing-drastic-will-ever-happen-to-me attitude. Doing instead of thinking is often times actually a good thing and as long as you don't plan on whining about working off debt for a couple of years or spending some time behind bars... more power to you. I just have a feeling that you will very much decry the unfairness if things turn sour. Let me take a wild guess: You are born after 2000, right?
thanks for the concern, as i said earlier in this thread, i do not mess with this AI things, i ask for a friend, i don't making any money on this, i know no one believe me, so...whatever
and i am not teenager or young man now, i am 42 years old, i am an educated man, got my degree in China 20 years ago, i know exactly what is United States of America and how their society works, our Chinese university professors taught us a lot of things that could never be taught in American universities, after so many years of real-world experience, I think everything they taught us was right
so, in short, no one will get into any trouble for this AI smuggling things, money can resolve all the problem
and BTW, America is not that "powerful" in China
Yeah, no one believes that but oh well... if it's not you who does the actual violation you are obviously just complicit
I see. So people eating up Chinese propaganda act strangely similar to millenials. Interesting.
Disclaimer: I'm neither American nor a huge fan of their politics but then i don't see what any of this America bad-bad-bad stuff has to do with anything.
If you say so and you have the respective coins to burn. I mean, you aren't wrong. Pretty much everything can be bought pretty much everywhere but it's usually a question of amount and that amount is regularly bigger than what the average person can come up with.
Thanks. That's certainly a mind blowing revelation. One country isn't powerful inside another country, who would have thought that? Maybe even Zimbabwe isn't that powerful in Kazakhstan. Man, that's crazy but i think you actually have a point there.
