This thread, among others, since crunchbits sent that discontinued email, makes me understand why it was sent and the way they worded it even more. I can only imagine the support tickets as well.

Why? Because the yolo attitude of some people comes back to bite them or because everything somehow has to be some kind of silly circlejerk where everyone just high fives each other?

I'm a little sad that i had to disagree with @default. I don't like doing that but beyond this i don't see what would be the problem. I think i've been quite measured and the whole thing might very well serve as a (quite harmless) lesson that being cheap won't magically turn problems into non-problems no matter how much slack people cut you.

Positivity is as much of a nice and wholesome thing as a measurable amount of LET users is unreasonable donkeys that should fucking do some research instead of grabbing everything with a low price tag but once being positive becomes some kind of mandatory ritual it's just very, very unhealthy.

This will be my last post about my situation until there is some sort of final outcome. As I stated before, I processed chargebacks on 4 out of my 5 DartNode servers yesterday before they restored access to my account. My bank has already judged three of them in my favor. The fourth is for a larger amount, so it hasn't been resolved yet. I assume that my bank just took the hit for the 3 smaller amounts. I would have preferred to settle this by requesting a refund, but of course I was locked out of my account. I really don't know how to proceed. I certainly don't want to use something I effectively haven't paid for, but at the same time, it's not fair for my bank to eat those charges and DartNode to keep the cash without providing the service. I guess I'll wait for the resolution of the 4th chargeback to determine how to proceed.

I would reach out to your bank, we're always happy to process refunds, as stated in the tickets. If a chargeback is filed, the system will lock your account, depending on the reason code. If it were for not authorized etc, then the account is flagged as fraud and closed down by our trust system.

Indeed, my account is now locked again. I guess I'll hit you with a chargeback on the 5th service and we'll be done. Multiple times now you have decided to not provide a service that I have paid for. You could have avoided the chargebacks if you had promptly restored service. There is no fraud on my part.

EDIT: It seems that they pre-empted the final chrageback by refunding the last service. We'll meet again in your next offer thread so I can warn users what they should expect if they do business with you.

Just took a look, and it seems Visa RDR triggered and our system refunded all the transactions and closed the account.

There's a difference between being upset and throwing a tantrum, and there's a difference between expressing concerns and making threats. Idk, I just feel like there's a lot of tantrums and threats in this thread and not much productive actually going on. Anyone who bothered to do the slightest bit of research before taking part in the sale would have known to expect some delays... were they longer this time than previously? Sure. Certainly not going to pretend dartnode hasn't had their issues here, the sale was a bit of a mess, the timelines all got screwed, the queues were kinda a joke... but at the end of the day people still picked up servers at pretty damn good prices, and as far as I can see keoir and crew have been trying to make things right for folks who are upset.

I can't speak to the whole ip abuse/spoofing/port 25/whatever deal, I haven't run into any of it. I just feel like lately as a whole nobody around here wants to own their part of the decisions that end poorly for them. I've made plenty of purchases over the years on LET on impulse without doing my research, and sometimes it bites me... but I guess I'm just the type to usually go "well, that sucks" and move on. I don't really feel like throwing a tantrum on the forum or threatening to chase a provider around all their threads telling them how awful I think they are really accomplishes anything.

Yeah, there's a lot of tantrums and i couldn't give less of a shit about those but there also a good amount of incompetence and some kind of if-you-complain-you-are-a-mjj-and-obviously-a-horrible-person-and-also-100%-wrong mantra, which seemingly gets applied pretty indiscriminately.

I can't speak to the whole ip abuse/spoofing/port 25/whatever deal, I haven't run into any of it. I just feel like lately as a whole nobody around here wants to own their part of the decisions that end poorly for them. And again i wouldn't have given two single shits if it hadn't been for the dumbass replies the guy has gotten. There's a difference between being slow and (i'll be nice and not assume intent) ignorant. If you don't address people's problems don't tell them you're addressing their problems. Ignore this simple rule and there's a chance you'll piss people off (chances of doing so increase monumentally if the person in question already isn't very happy to begin with). It's quite easy.

It's like when your on the phone with some zero-fucks-given support drone trying to explain your problem and they just give you some canned pseudo friendly nonsense that doesn't match what you were saying. If you have an actual problem that's pretty frustrating. Same applies when you know something but the other side tells you the opposite and acts like they are being nice about it. After a couple repetitions there will be anger involved.

I'm not even going into the pros and cons surrounding selling something you regularly can't provide within reasonable expectations. There's people waiting on ticket replies for like a week now and if they do as much as suggest that Dartnode should answer tickets they get shot down by some nothing-matters-since-it's-cheap fanboy. Not sure how i feel about that but i guess you have to pick your battles and i'm actually trying pretty hard to not piss on the parade...

Long story short. I blame AI. AI has got to be involved somehow. 100% certain.

Maybe you mistakenly ran spam edition yabs? It's probably either that or you were hacked and the guy doing so ran spam edition yabs first thing after typing "password" on the password prompt ;)

Yeah, seems there's a bunch of (almost consecutive) SBLd IPs. I kind of wonder if hijacking IPs of different clients might actually really be a thing and someone is just burning through all available IP space.

Very possible... If... I was on shrooms tonight. Which is not the case. So since I'm not, and it's very unlikely other users having the same experience are, they ( @DartNode ) definitely have ip reputation issues.

Have never seen anything this bad before.

Yes, thats a real possibility something is going on for sure, judging by the domains linked to the spam. Would investigate but have a game to watch :)
