  • Wow things got a bit intense here…

But I just came to say that my dedi was provisioned. Feel free to bet on a USA win tomorrow.

    Wut?

They don't care about customer at all no matter MJJ or whatever the f you are is what i perceive up until now.

So you are mad when they don't respond to complaints here and, then you yell at them to go process tickets when they do response here after being directly tagged? This is why we can't have nice things.

At the end of the day Simo, Dartnode and others are real people behind the keyboard trying their best to deliver a service, whether you like or buy that service, is totally up to you. Whether you think they provided adequate service is totally up to your opinion and you can choose to patronize them or not in the futre.

But what is the point of yelling at a technical support person when they come here and provide a explanation of the status to an issue that someone has been complaining about for multiple days now?

Am not yelling, I am suggesting a work instead of yapping or arguing here with customers? xD

Maybe that is what Simo did all day and part of their job is to also check LET for issues? Or should they do nothing but respond to tickets for 14 hours straight?

    And who you?

I am no one but a Dartnode customer waiting for a server to be provisioned except I apparently have a little more patience than some of this community.

To be clear, I am not defending Dartnode, they have made mistakes with this sale, but demanding they should go back in their hole and respond to tickets when they do post here isn't great for this community and isn't a good look for you.

My guess: someone used IP spoofing (which DartNode has not blocked) to harm the network or simply take revenge on the provider for their frustrations by doing DDoS. A client (and likely others too) happened to have the IP which the attacker used and was caught in the crossfire between provider and abuser.

Solution: the management should add a limitation that blocks sending packets as another IP. This is not staff fault, but likely management fault for possibly cutting corners. However, some customers are very happy with DartNode as it is, because they can successfully use IP Spoofing of Dartnode to bypass the firewalls of their own country for their personal freedom online.

It is one of those cases of: damned if you do, damned if you don't. Some people simply hate nice things.

Spoofing won't manage to complete a TCP handshake since the response packets would need to come back to the party, which sent the request, and they won't if the sender is... well... spoofed.

There could be some intention behind the whole thing but it would probably rather be someone hijacking random IPs belonging to other VPS because the setup doesn't prevent it (whole subnet on a single virtual interface or whatever). Admittedly that also includes sending packets from an IP you technically don't own.

    This is not staff fault

Maybe. In any case the staff doesn't seem to give two single fucks going by the self righteous nonsense they post.

I don't see any nice things outside of maybe the dedis.

Yes. I believe there is a problem on provider's side. When a provider allows for more "features", more customers tend to come, driving up sales. Surely, the customers might not be of good quality, but maybe the management of company simply cares for profits in selling features to bypass firewalls. I don't know the big picture here, so can't say anything with certainty.

Staff is forced to protect the provider. They are paid for it and surely have signed an NDA.

I do see nice things. I had fun in the event, and I also like very cheap cloud servers. The only aspect I don't like is the manager of this company — but that's just me. I appreciate the staff and workers who really tried their best in this event.

Well that's great. Personally i couldn't care less about some cheap VPS from a host i wouldn't trust with anything serious anyways. There's enough alternatives available that don't make me jump through a bunch of hoops and sometimes even lack the questionable reputation. I'm happy you enjoy it though.

I'd like to ask — does your 24/7 support actually have staff actively handling tickets? I received a response saying my ticket would be resolved within 24 hours, but it's now been 3 days with no action taken. This doesn't reflect the level of service commitment I'd expect from a professional IDC.
Could you please let me know how much longer this is going to take?
    Thanks

Yes we have 24/7 for support, if your ticket is in engineering that is US business hours, and we're working through the queue

Could you please go ahead and take care of this ticket? Thanks!

This is LET. Be very careful when it comes to trusting a provider with anything serious around here. Many bots have registered in this place nowadays, watching, ready for snatching offers and for reporting activity in other forums, a sign that providers might sometimes dig their own grave when posting offers here. The internet keeps turning into a very bad place as people and freedoms are oppressed.

Personally, I use the servers for fun and personal projects. But then... it depends on also on what you consider serious.

They clearly had some issues within the first few hours. I picked up a $10 VPS-1 just an hour or two in and one of the $7 VPS-1's when that flash sale hit. One was provisioned within a couple hours of the $7 purchase, but I'm still waiting on the other. Kinda surprised to see any of the dedi's being provisioned at all, to be honest. People just being spoiled past couple of years. Highend hosts been offering deals with low-end pricing.

At 10-12/y people should really expect slow support, no A grade hardware and have a backup plan.

We will bump everyone 30 days on there due date for the issues

Could you please have someone review ticket #26110 and unlock my account?

Hello! I just got in touch with someone about your ticket. It appears you have 6 abuse complaints open on your account at the moment. Right now 1/6 of those complaints have been addressed. I do understand there could be a misunderstanding, but we need more information from you. In order to fix everything please reach out in those complaint tickets and someone from the abuse team will take care of you!

At this point, it's very clear that @DartNode @keoir @simo don't care that they have made a mistake and and cut off my access to 5 VPS for an issue that someone else caused with one of those VPS. I'll proceed with a charge back now as none of this is my fault. We're very near 7 days with no response to my report, 3 days since they have restricted my access and 24 since they escalated my issue to a non-existent head engineer. I'll proceed here at LET by warning users that they have automated processes that make it possible to be blamed for abuse that you didn't perform.

We have reviewed your account and the lock has been released

Please note that the account had 6 abuse complaints, including some from our upstream transit providers, within 24 hours. Please make sure the system is not compromised and this does not occur again

@keoir Please check order #34341, it's now "in build queue" for 2hours now, any idea when it will ready?

You have to be kidding me. For the love off god, look at the open ticket from June 17th and note the information there. I cannot stop some other random user that is assigned the same IP as I am from abusing your infrastructure. If I am a fault, please post the information here for all to see. I will fix the issue post haste if it is my fault and admit that I was the problem here publicly. However, I do not believe I was ever at fault.

I've gotta say, waking up to an automated email saying that I need to cleanup my VPS because the IP is blacklisted by spamhaus is a bit disconcerting when the thing was just provisioned yesterday and I haven't done anything but change from ubuntu to debian. I don't care that the IP is blacklisted and I don't need port 25 open, but don't blame me for something some other user did.

Join the stream for free giveaways while we wait for the 24 hour extension to go live!

    https://twitch.tv/dartnodetv

how are GAs free if you have to subscribe for a fee? or do i not understand something?>

99.99% has been totally free. They ran ONE for people that subbed as a reward for supporting them. People are blowing this way out of proportion but I suppose that's to be expected around here.

    yea yea i'm a cheap fuck, buying $7/yr VPS-es...

when i tried to join there - it was not possible to !PLAY without subscribe, which is 5.99 for me

you have to subscribe to !PLAY?

For one game, yes. For all other games, no.

Did you get your vps yet? mine is over 23 hours

They have provisioned 4 for me, but I think one is sharing an IP with another VPS. I haven't messed with the others yet.

@DartNode said: Your spot in the queue should be coming up then!

I did received a ticket responds from Daniel said "can do" after i said the OS i choose, but that was 5 hours ago, so more wait time for me? but i remembered that other customer would get their dedi's in an hour after choose the OS, so i guess every time things moves take at least 2 days? because my dedi's were stuck in the queue for over 48 hours, and then 48hours for the OS again?

They clearly had some issues within the first few hours. I picked up a $10 VPS-1 just an hour or two in and one of the $7 VPS-1's when that flash sale hit. One was provisioned within a couple hours of the $7 purchase, but I'm still waiting on the other. Kinda surprised to see any of the dedi's being provisioned at all, to be honest. Tickets and purchases don't seem to be getting processed in FIFO order

VMs should have been provisioned already, shoot me an invoice # or something, and I can look up the service for you

Spoke too soon, my dedi was provisioned, got everything ready but it’s offline and all functions on my panel aren’t enabled.

Could you maybe check it? Ticket #26442

    Thank you!

Did you noticed that how long were your dedi in "in build queue"?

I think it was 2-3 hours or so.
Yours should be up soon I think

Looks like it is with the provisioning team, can you open a new ticket in support? Happy to take a look
