Greetings earthlings, it's been a while since we had some news to share and this time I'm afraid it's not the good kind..
As many of you have noticed, Tokyo and Sweden have been down for some time.
As for Tokyo, there was an error in the billing system that sadly deleted our server.
It sucks, but this happens. Webhorizon have been generous and will recreate a server for us but right now they are out of stock.
More news to follow there.
Affected users can either wait it our or be moved to a different server should one wish.
The server in Sweden decided to brick itself after the last Debian update.
Don't know why, it's survived many reboots before but alas.
Naturally when these things happen, the KVM console isn't working either so Internetport have kindly said they will reinstall the server.
If we are lucky here, only the OS drives will be affected and the drives with the VMs and extra data partitions will be intact.
No promises though! It might be completely blank, we don't know yet.
Same here, those currently using the server can wait if they want or be moved to a different server.
Last but not least, Hivelocity has said they are not able to continue sponsoring our Amsterdam location.
No particular reason was given, but we can only thank them for their generosity these last few years.
Here users will receive an email and they can give their preference for where their new server will be placed.
Please get back to us as quickly as possible for the NL move, though a short grace period will be given.
Most locations have quite a few resources available, except the Romania server which is full
Guess that's it for now.. We are deeply sorry for the inconvenience since we do try to keep our uptime as high as possible.
Ah that does explain why my vps has been down. Was in Amsterdam location
Nooo, Amsterdam is still up?
How unfortunate, anyways thanks so much for the freeVPS, been super useful. I think I am fine to be reinstated with Sweden again.

Noice, added you in my notes to re-deploy once the server is back up.
Ooh. A reboot seemed to manage to fix it. I had some issues logging into the portal, but I found out that I entered the wrong email
(PEBCAK)
Anyway, how long will the Amsterdam node be online for?
Since I don't have any important data on the vps, feel free to rebuild it in any location that has space available. Tho a location in or near europe is prefered
EDIT: added client NO
Glad to hear it
Put you in London for now, only EU available server until Sweden is back up I'm afraid.
I've set the NL one to cancel in a week, emails should be received.
Hello everyone, I would like to apply for a free VPS for personal learning and development purposes.
I am currently learning Linux, Docker, 1Panel, QingLong Panel, and GitHub web project development. I hope to have a stable VPS to practice website deployment, build navigation pages, test IPv6 environments, and learn automation and server management. In the future, I also plan to use it to host my personal blog and some small公益-style utility projects.
My preferred server location is: US West Coast (San Jose / Los Angeles) because it usually provides lower latency and better connectivity to Asia.
If West Coast locations are unavailable, Tokyo or Singapore would also be great choices for my learning and testing needs.
I would also like to suggest adding more IPv6-only VPS options and Debian/Ubuntu templates in the future, which would be very helpful for beginners learning server management.

Well, I'm sorry.
Good afternoon,
Unfortunately, the Swedish server is still not working.
Could you please move my account to any available server in the United States?

Sorry about that..
Deployed a new one for you now.
Well, you do actually fulfill the requirements, but Tokyo is donor only. Check our website or the first post for the rules.
Edit: that being said, Tokyo is also currently maxed out. SG is available though, closest one that has spare resources.
sg works out, would appreciate that ! also big thanks to all the providers and the service hosts #ThanksGTHost, #Thankscrunchbits, #ThanksScaleBlade, #ThanksPieHasBeenEaten, #ThanksWebHorizon, #ThanksOhanacraft, #ThanksInternetport, #ThanksMicrotronix, #ThanksHostEONS, #ThanksHosteroid, and #ThanksHivelocity
Still donor only mate, read the website..
im outta luck then! oh well good service you have thanks for serving us
I don't need a vm/shell (I mean free is nice but I rather save the resources for others) but I did want to thank OP/team/vendors that make this thread possible! Back in the day, when a free system would have benefited me/been super awesome, there was only small shells on shared systems. Some were bad and others were great like devio.us, I couldn't imagine how I would have felt having my own free VPS back then! Please keep up the good work!
@daffy any update in Sweden?
Sadly, no.
If you want to be deployed on a different node, please let me know.

Done, sir!
Hi, would you suggest for us to go to another location or to wait for the Sweden one?
We don’t really have a realistic idea of when it will be back so.. your call, but it’s no problem to back at a later point if you want.
