Thank you for your recent purchase with OneProvider. We are pleased to inform you that a OneCloud voucher worth $100.00 USD in credit has been added to your account as part of our current promotion.

These credits are available immediately for you to use on our OneCloud services. Please note that the credits will expire in 30 days, so we encourage you to make the most of them soon.

ah, 30 days. eh pass but the loc look cool though

    Thanked by 1OneProvider
  • Even free $100 for 30 days is very generous and almost unheard of.
People here want a free VPS for a year in exotic locations? Fascinating and funny :)

No offense but I had the the worst experience with them sometime back, once I completed my purchase they shutdown the server and told me that there was a ddos attack, then I had to beg them for the data they ran it once in rescue mode but denied any other help.

Oh wow. So basically you wouldn’t even have a chance to use them unless you could reinvoice for a year or you take out a ton of services for 30 days but in reality you only need one.

I know AWS does free tier for 6 months and vultr/linode used to/does credit for a few months but like jeez 30 days is incredibly stingy.

Vultr is doing a free plan for 1 year too. Not yet available to all, but we can request access. I am using germany vps on their free plan for almost 4 months now.

I don’t know how that conclusion has been made. My point is that a month is not enough to evaluate and there are competitors out there that do a few months.

  • @MaxTakeba said: My point is that a month is not enough to evaluate

Evaluate != grab and run after the trial. Big companies like Vultr run those promos for customers that will potentially pay ~10x the amount of the "trial", not for MJJs who want freebies. I'm not calling you one, just that a month is about the right time to evaluate.
You can see the network, latency, cpu load, uptime, under all possible conditions.

I got Vultr free plan too a few years ago for a year but that was a long time ago. at that time, i was experimenting nginx n such.

I think it's more $150 (with the $50 bonus credits) but for 30 days, it's eh. what im more looking at is the bandwith. Can it handle more then 1 yabs test in multiple locations?

  • @Fubukibox said: Can it handle more then 1 yabs test in multiple locations?

You can't compare huge hubs like Amsterdam or Frankfurt (where this offer isn't so
attractive if we use common sense anyway) to places like La Paz, Quito, Fez, Islamabad.
If you expect sustained 10gbit there you are in for a surprise :)

i expect if it can handle more then 100Mbps to 1Gbps, it's good enough. Why does a vps need 10Gbps when it's Capped to 1Gbps or less?

  • LeviLevi Member

Hehe, those who take oneprovider offer will soon find that contabo on compare is premium. Be warned.

  • GravelyGravely Member

Might pay to mention that the credits last 30 days in the original post.

  • spiritlhlspiritlhl Member

In fact, that redemption code can be used as long as there’s a payment history within the past 90 days. I think it actually works as a $100 credit for the current month plus a $50 credit for the following month—this is feasible as long as you don’t redeem the entire amount immediately.

This provider fakes some of its locations, and if you ask support about this, they will ignore or treat you as dumb.

Fez, Morocco is actually in Malaga, Spain:
    https://ipinfo.io/188.214.157.1

Dubai, UAE is actually in Fujairah, AUE:
    https://ipinfo.io/147.78.0.1

Vilnius, Lithuania is actually in Siauliai, Lithuania:
    https://ipinfo.io/185.237.185.1

Warsaw, Poland is actually in Gdansk, Poland
    https://ipinfo.io/92.118.205.1

    and probably more.

    Come on bro...

one of their upstreams is literally "Malaga Data Center" :joy:

What they actually have is Casablanca (or real Fez, not sure), but most likely for their private end customers. Upstreams to Orange MA.

For some further reference, since the International Routing ends at AGP, AKA Malaga, Spain.

Then when we trace the Cogent Peering . It's been found that the Cogent Carrier Partner in Malaga is in the Malaga Data Center. We found that one of the peering in Malaga DC is the OBE.net(holy). And the OBE's range that should be in Malaga is 45.159.14.0/24

But i don't have hand on OneCloud Morocco, so we ping from Hostoweb's Morocco and this is the result -> https://globalping.io/?measurement=2JL4C6pGO6ZDtqAx000020Y6f

0.4~1.0 ms to Malaga, Spain :)

Hi, do you operate in Morocco? Do you have an office there? Are your servers hosted inside the Moroccan borders (ceuta or melilla do not count as yes as they are not morrocan)? Are your servers hosted physically inside the Afrinic zone?

I would love to support an African host operating in Africa. But from the posts here you dont seem to be related to africa at all, except for the emoji Morocco flag, and the free/cheap afrinic IPs.

you should add egypt as new location in africa you will get your hardware there and then use france routing

Perfect for the CDN platform we are building soon, would be very useful if they allowed BGP sessions + communities!
