Wtf are you talking about?
I've worked in dc's all over the world, and to be honest the EU region is very often the one with extremely good response times. The germans in particular are hard to beat, which is not an easy thing for me to admit since I hate working with germans.
But you get what you pay for, I have no idea how many of the lowend providers pay for 24/7 onsite staff, but I doubt all of them do.
Alexhost sent out an update email offering either a move to Moldova (and back to NL once service is restored), or a refund.
Snippet:
I guess not.
The severs are down for more than 24 hours. No ETA, no update announcements, no redundancy, no backup.
Anyone who defending this are in shit tier provider. As a customer, you know who to avoid, this @xHosts guy for example. He calling people "little man" "kid" blabla. Do you want to host with person like this.
I'm having a business, I dont care what is your excuses, my service is down for more than 1 days with potential additional several days of down time, your job is to fix this, to provide redundancy and backup when shit like this happen. Dont do excuse. It your job, fcking do your part right.
You're running a "business" on a budget host with no redundancy, no backups, no failover and you're blaming them? That's not on the provider, that's just you being incompetent. Any real business owner knows you don't stake your livelihood on a single cheap VPS.
That's day one stuff. You made a rookie mistake and now you're here throwing a tantrum expecting sympathy.
Sort your own infrastructure out before lecturing anyone about doing their job right.
I say as a find, you claim to have "business issues" but on the face of it acting like a 5 year old when someone puts a providers point forward.
If it looks like and smells like a donkey its a donkey, act like a kid get the label as a kind, that simple.
If your setup is that important, why do you not have "redundancy" if the millions of pounds you will lose is just on one budget end provider, you need to review this before attacking anyone.
I have many happy people hosting with me and have for a number of years and why because I am fair and respectful to people who deserve respect. If you are disrespectful you get the same back, that is called fairness.
You give threats of "put on my list", I could not really care about your list, there are too many who think a provider will be scared sh*tless because you have a list, there are plenty of customers who will although these issues can happen with any provider will give the provider a chance to
A)Find out the issue
B)Make a plan of action based on (A)
C)Advise customers based on A & B
They sent an email to their customers advising they are aware of the issue and looking into it, this prevents tickets asking the same thing because then you have people screaming they have not fixed it but replied to tickets while others will scream they reply to tickets but have not fixed, very rare unless you deal with a million pound company will you get both.
I move my stuffs already lol. That why I have time typing stuffs here. Im still mad because I spend my time doing the migration. That is wasteful unproductive time.
Why you assume many thing. They are one of my proxy hosts, my real hosts are elsewhere. That why im very disappointed because I know what a real, competent host look like. Dont assume people are incompetent when you didn't know shit about them.
Absolutely, without a doubt. xHosts speaks nothing but the truth and states facts. You on the other hand behaves like a spoiled brat that thinks that everything is someone else's responsibility.
If you run a business it is your job to make sure you have redundancy and fallback. You set it up yourself or you pay big money to a provider that provides it for you.
Any kind of business worth a shit does not run it's stuff on lowend providers that in no way, shape or form has ever promised to provide any kind of redundancy.
Show me where Alexhost has promised 100% uptime, full redundancy and backup datacenters and I will apologize. If you can not, you are the idiot that have not done his job right.
You get what you pay for, everyone in business either knows this or learns it real quick. I guess this is where you learn.
Did you read my post right above your text? I dont have to learn shit. They are one of my diversified proxy hosts and they failed. I replaced them already. But im mad because there are no ETA so it mess up my working schedule.
Dumb people always assuming others are as incompetent as them.
@Goodtesteronline what are you running on those servers? Are you an iptv provider?
typical ddr ignor customer. Setups proxy for their server hosting copyrighted content.
Yeah I was thinking the same
UPDATES
06/03/2026 - (Update 2) NEW!
As you might know, we had our colocation through MIRHosting, currently in the datacenter where we had our equipment all the servers that were connected through MIRHosting were turned off. At the moment we are trying to make a contract with the datacenter directly to restore the services as soon as possible but due to bureaucracy the process isn't that fast.
We are currently doing our best to restore the connection as soon as possible, given the circumstances.
UPDATE 1
For those who are affected by this and thanks @fatchan for posting it, we will repost again:
Note: Creating tickets won't make the process more faster, we are doing what we can to restore everything and to be online again. We wish we had a button to do that fastly.
Best Regards,
Alexhost
What's wrong with Russians?
BTW. Mirhosting is not russian company and owner also is not russian. Please stop hate speech using fake reason.
If you have to ask...
Yeah, right.
"Andrey Nesterenko, founder of MIRhosting, a 39-year-old Russian citizen living in the Netherlands."
So, alexhost picked a bad neighbourhood huh.
Then it is alexhost fault after all.
EDIT: Or perhaps many customers of alexhost are bad neighbours themselves.
Hey, maybe alexhost is a bad neighbour itself.
1) Nesterenko is actually a Ukrainian surname.
2) It is not uncommon for a person to have two or even more citizenship. For example, Elon Musk has three citizenships - South Africa, Canada and the USA.
As for the bad decision, I can remember Burst.net where the Russians did not participate in any way, but this did not save them from a major failure.
In any case, I ask all participants to be polite and not to incite hatred against anyone, especially on national or civil grounds.
Keep ignoring facts.
1) You have a written statement from law enforcement that he is Russian.
2) Comparing this guy to Elon Musk? lol. And no, he didn't have Netherlands citizenship,
he was just operating his shady hosting companies for russian cybercriminals or borderline junk like that. Will be deported like a dog back to his shithole after the trial.
LOL. Is this guy for real?
Andrey Nesterenko is a Russian citizen. He got busted for doing bad things for the Russian establishment. The etymology of his surname nor the (multiple) citizenship of third parties has no bearing on this.
Deflection at its finest.
I think it would be better if you focused on illegal migrants. But I'm not surprised by your position. Each your word is classic hate speech. You don't know who is Nesterenko but claim that he must be deported.
People, please stay on-topic -- seriously
@alexhost , feel free to post updates when there's news
Mirhosting is a dutch company operated by russian person... No way around that.
guys, please no off-topic, thanks
yes. their upstream got arrested. So there is no ETA.
So, we can consider that we won't get our files and servers back despite their communication saying everything will be back to normal, but without any timeframe?
If they can't bring the server(s) back online because of a seizure, shouldn't the communication reflect this, with compensation and clear explanations?
Despite their attempts to communicate, it seems to me that they themselves don't have any more information or updates regarding a possible resolution to the problem?
We're already on the third day and still nothing, no progress whatsoever.
This reminds me of other hosting providers or companies that tend to communicate like this and inevitably end up saying we've lost everything or we won't be back (I'm referring to examples of companies from the past).
Another good reason to encrypt storage. I wonder what is the plan to at least retrieve data?
You already migrated and you're fine. So what are you actually crying about? Lost a few hours? Welcome to running infrastructure.
Yeah, at the very least if you are in a shady environment and have anything important on your disks that should be pretty self explanatory. Of course there's ways around that given your dedi (again kinda self explanatory with the combination of shady environment and important data) is still running when the invasion starts but in 99.9% of cases it'll probably still perfectly suffice to keep your data safe. Chances are most interesting clients of theirs didn't really lose a lot of sleep over the whole raid and are already back to business as usual at some other shady place.
Ya I guess those people are likely to be backed up. Probably, not LET people
'always backup your data after the disaster' approach.
Agreed, I guess it probably takes them a day or two to be fully restored somewhere else.
