    Great, he sent an email with the NEW prices, so I guess its Goodbye !

    Please share for the plebs amongst us.

    Dear Valued Customer,

    We are writing to inform you of an upcoming adjustment to our pricing structure across our VPS product lines (AMD, Intel, and Windows) and promotional plans.

    At Dasabo, we are committed to providing high-performance infrastructure and reliable support. However, over the past year, the industry has faced a significant and sustained increase in global energy costs and hardware procurement expenses, specifically regarding RAM modules and enterprise-grade storage (SSD/NVMe).

    To maintain the quality, security, and performance standards you expect from us, we find it necessary to align our rates with these current operational costs.
    Implementation Timeline

    New Orders: The updated pricing is effective immediately for all new service activations.

    Existing Services: For current active subscriptions, the new rates will only apply to renewals occurring on or after June 13, 2026. Your current rate remains protected until that date.

    We understand that price adjustments are never welcome news. However, this step is vital to ensure we can continue to invest in the cutting-edge hardware and infrastructure stability that your projects rely on.

    We sincerely appreciate your continued partnership and trust in our services. Should you have any questions regarding your specific plan or the upcoming changes, please do not hesitate to contact our support team.

    Note: All prices are exclusive of VAT where applicable.

    Fuck me, that's quite the increase!

    This is quite the goodbye ! And I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who WON'T renew

    At their new pricing it's just not worth it to stick around. Plenty of proven to be reliable alternatives around.

    Maybe I should make some offers to buy out their IP space... They sure ain't gonna need them after that.

    Not sure but I don't think their ip space reputation is the best. Could be wrong though. Never bothered to try them.

    I'm a good bean... I'll get those fixed ;)

    If so, always a good investment. I hold some ip space, thought it would have been way more up by now but you know... Long term... Always nice to have.

    If it doesn't pan out, summerhost, exit scam = profit.

    Few comments back I wrote before your comment :-

    @whynotlearn said: I remember when veloxmedia had first started to go deadpool there was some intentional effort that this is just a change in hands and nothing too much, it was all fine and everything.

    It felt like a strategy to delay as many chargebacks as possible, and some people lost money in all of that as velox effectively after all of that deadpooled for all intents and purposes.

    And I remember Veloxmedia also pulling some (iirc) we will leave LET or something, and Dasabo seems to be doing this too :-/

    Not a good look. About the worst look you can get in an industry which although is about servers, but deeper than servers is about trust.

    I feel like I might've called it but this is exactly what happened in veloxmedia

    Really bad for the folks who have servers on Dasabo imo :-/

    What baffles me most is that someone would have the big brain idea of running a should we leave vote at the exact same time as pushing prices through the roof. Wouldn't you do that before you predictably piss everyone off or could it even be that massive amount of no votes played a role in the green lighting of the email?

    When I found out that there is a hosting provider called Realtox Media, I legit thought you had started a summer host.

    Don't worry, once I'll; do I'll make sure to post an 'for immediate release' so it won't go unnoticed and you get your expectations right ;)

    We are writing to provide an official and transparent update regarding an incident involving unauthorized payment attempts that were detected on our platform in recent days.

    Following an in-depth internal investigation, including technical auditing, log analysis, and comprehensive security reviews conducted as a top priority by our security and operations teams, we have been able to precisely identify the origin of the incident.

    The investigation has confirmed that an internal collaborator, who until a few hours ago was part of our customer support department, misused their assigned access privileges by performing unauthorized payment-related actions against a very limited number of users, with the clear intent of causing significant financial and reputational harm to our company.

    These activities were carried out within the timeframe between May 5, 2026, and May 8, 2026.

    Immediately upon detection of the anomalies, Dasabo activated its emergency security protocols, taking the following actions:

    1. fully revoked all system access associated with the individual involved;
    2. invalidated all credentials, sessions, and operational privileges;
    3. conducted a full security and infrastructure review across payment-related systems;
    4. initiated enhanced internal forensic auditing procedures;
    5. engaged legal counsel to proceed with a formal complaint to the competent authorities.

    The incident affected a total of 13 users. In 5 cases, payments were successfully processed; however, all affected amounts have already been fully refunded to the respective customers via their original payment methods.

    We would like to emphasize that these transactions were only possible because the affected users had previously and voluntarily authorized and stored a recurring payment method within their Dasabo account. The unauthorized charges were executed through the creation of credit top-up invoices from the client area and the subsequent misuse of pre-approved payment methods.

    It is critically important to clarify the following:

    1. there has been no external breach of our systems;
    2. there is no evidence of any unauthorized third-party intrusion;
    3. no credit card data has been stolen or compromised;
    4. all payment data is handled via secure tokenization systems compliant with international security standards;
    5. sensitive card information is never stored in plain text on our infrastructure.

    Thanks to the advanced fraud prevention mechanisms implemented through Stripe Radar, combined with our existing multi-layered security rules, we were able to rapidly detect abnormal activity and prevent further unauthorized attempts, significantly limiting the potential impact of this incident.

    In parallel, we have already implemented additional enhanced security measures, including:

    1. a full review of internal access privileges and administrative roles;
    2. strict limitation of operational permissions on billing and payment systems;
    3. implementation of multi-level approval controls for sensitive operations;
    4. strengthened real-time monitoring and auditing systems;
    5. stricter internal procedures for all financial and billing-related activities.

    We fully recognize the seriousness of this incident and the concern it may have caused. At Dasabo, the trust and security of our customers are of paramount importance, and we do not take this matter lightly.

    We extend our deepest and most sincere apologies to the affected customers and reaffirm our absolute commitment to maintaining the highest standards of security, transparency, and reliability.

    We will continue to closely monitor the situation and fully cooperate with the relevant authorities to ensure that all responsibilities are appropriately addressed.

    @angstrom

    Have you shared this with all your customers yet?

    @Dasabo I'm not sure I got an answer for this. Have you? Sorry if I overlooked it.

  • but

    The EU legislation requires, that the pricing of consumer goods is shown VAT-inclusive

    so it seems that unless they operate purely b2b that doesn't fly even before it comes to the may be subject to additional administrative fees part.

    FS1-2025 Annual €9.99 €25.99

    At least this was available till only two or three weeks ago from their offer thread. I nearly bought it... Pure bait'n'switch ?
    Feels like something that deserves a severe warning and rightfully removed provider tag.

    But I'll guess doesn't matter, as he'll already opened the exit for himself with his "vote"

    That's why you can't take anyone serious that fancy themselves some C*O title in a sub 10 people business. Same shit as sole traders talking as "we" all the time.

    Anyways, guess I am lucky to again have dodged a bullet or two here. That was close...

    Also: chargeback yesterday. Stripe won't be happy.

    So I get the email for price increase but nothing about the data breach. Some steep price increases therefore will not be renewing any of servers with Dasabo.

    Sorry, I have a question.

    Regardless if it's external or internal, but since this incident involved the misuse of customer and financial data, shouldn't this be reported to the DPA under GDPR?

    Sorry, I have a question.

    Regardless if it's external or internal, but since this incident involved the misuse of customer and financial data, shouldn't this be reported to the DPA under GDPR?

    If the employee had access to the PII in the billing software as part of his daily job, the billing software doesn't store card information, the card charges were made as Stripe API calls, and there isn't any proof of leakage of customer data, there isn't anything GDPR-related to report to the authorities.

    The fraud should be reported to the police. The police are the only ones who can investigate the fraudster's personal computers, and it's their responsibility to act on it if they find evidence of a data leak.

    If I were in Dasabo's shoes, I would consult and report it to the GDPR authorities, but this would be done to cover my own back in case more issues related to this employee show up later.

    I would also inform all customers, let them know a few have been charged and refunded, so they can check themselves. But again, this would be to cover my own back in case smaller charges or other illegal activity hasn't been discovered yet and surfaces later on.
    Dasabo is in deep trouble if the fraud hasn't been reported to the police and there actually has been a data breach that hasn't been reported to the GDPR authorities.

    But again, he has moved the company to another country several times after 1–2 years in each country. There might be a natural explanation for this, but if it has been done to cover something up, for example tax fraud, he isn't interested in involving the police.

    Don't forget the UK company has been registered as dormant the entire time.

    If the fraudster has been employed in the companies that have been or are under liquidation too, it gets complicated, because they were operating in multiple countries (UK, EE, IT).

    If Dasabo has used a Stripe payment agreement that was made between Stripe and one of the liquidated companies in the new company, and Stripe finds out during their investigation, they will report it to the police and then there is a good chance Europol will get involved too. (Screenshots of payments indicate this.)

    My guess is this case is a lot more complicated than Dasabo is trying to make it look, but it is not GDPR related.

    I didn't get one.

    Oh, you only sent it to the few customers who had bogus transactions?

    How do you know this intimate collaborator didn't exfil your database and sell it?

    This is guessing and legally you shall not inform and report based on guesses, but on evidence.

    This most basic failure certainly makes the entire story seem nonsensical.

    According to https://lowendtalk.com/discussion/comment/4792210/#Comment_4792210, "engaged legal counsel to proceed with a formal complaint to the competent authorities.". Not sure how much of that is actually true, or if it even happened. The bottom line is, none of this ever really made sense :)

    All tactics with closing/opening new company same as for all other. Internal BS to check, if an user is dumb and wont check accounts for any deductions, in hope to get some bucks illegaly earned.
    After closing company to not get sued of any last clients.
