@rpqu will probably soon get some nightmares where gigantic text walls are running after him while the jello ground is preventing him escaping.

haha, good joke, thanks I write a lot, I love to write!

Now, I shouldn't have to write 5 paragraphs giving a detailed critique about a basic topic on "hey guys, racism is bad, lets not do racism" but if this is what I have to do to actually enlighten some people, then sure.

Also folks who are watching from the sides, I just want to tell them that the issue with just watching from the sides that what is spoken for too long sometimes starts feeling like a fact to many. Its best to counter misinformation and also, hey man, all of us have been oppressed one time or the another by anything. I mean we are being oppressed right now by the class

The largest divider has always been the absolutely rich vs poor but they make us infight and stuff. We are all similar than different. This is what the article is about, the Google tech giant unilaterally doing what it wants to do because in its eyes, we are all poor and we have to unite together if we really wish to fight against it.

Now, I just have a wish if this thread for the last time doesn't get de-lineated again and also that if you see somebody doing casual racism then to do the moral decision of stepping in and shutting it even if they aren't doing it against you simply because its an moral choice to do and I think that it would show me to believe that there is more hope in humanity too. I know that there is, but I just hope that the hope shows more humanity, thanks and have a good evening to y'all kind souls :-D

TLDR: It has almost always been an issue of class but they make us fight over the most petty things like racism, gender, nation and so many other not worth things to fight over. They want us all to fight against each other so that we don't fight against them (these tech giants and oligarchs), Also they want us to fight against each other because they know they can't win if we all unite. I hope that we unite though to create a better future for all of us no matter our race, creed, gender. And there is something of a hope for a better future in that last line.
    Have a nice day.

WADR. Despite you telling yourself you don't want to get into politics, I think you have talent to be politician considering your writings. Or, at least that's what I thought

@whynotlearn How's the enforced KYC for vps & dedi services going in India? Did it cut back on the scam operations?

I don't think it was racist comment.

But to answer the question, I have not been asked to do any KYC for my Indian vps.

And scammers are like Medusa. You cut one but another 2 grows out from somewhere.

  • somiksomik Member

We get it. India has scammers. You know which other country has scammers? Every other f**King country. USA, UK, Germany, Australia, you name it, scammers are there. So no use isolating just one country.

@whynotlearn go take a walk in the park and cool down. Don't feel the trolls.

@rpqu identity verification can only work when identity theft has been curbed. Since you can still purchase people's identity on the back market, these identity verification services doesn't do much. In Singapore, identity verification is done via the Singpass, the government issued digital identity. And you know the best part? Even that gets stolen!

Now back on topic, google is just trying to link up their users pc and phone. It's easier for them to identify their users for feeding them ads.

Well, i wouldn't really be all that bothered but on top of that they also lock users into trusted environments controlled by them and no one else, which is way, way worse than the usual give-us-your-data-resistance-is-futile shtick.

Obviously a lot of people won't care about this as they are already running stuff that is nothing but 105% blackbox to them but for everyone else its a metric fuckton of suck.

Apple is doing the exact same thing and people are more then happy to be locked into that ecosystem.

Did you know apple does age verifications on device when you sign up so you don't have to validate your age in sites like reddit? I didn't know that until last week when I was complaining about Microsoft asking to validate my identity to use Microsoft Teams. What is this world coming to...

That's why KYC doesn't work, because people failed to understand that they could be held liable if they sold it to third party. Last January, I think there's a story of teenagers selling sg postpaid sim cards for like 10-20 sgd.
Oh, if it's government fault e.g hacked. Government workers cannot be punished! Haha, 100% joke

@zed said: you're officially retarded, please leave my internet immediately.

Hey man, hope you are having a good day, at first I was frustrated about your opinion/message and wanted to respond back with heat, but then I realized that it would just derail from the topic even further which I don't wish to do so.

At some point, you are capable of your own thinking/opinions and if you think of that opinion on me, then well... you are capable to do so and you have. That's fair in the sense that it is still the open internet on a random forum that we can call each other and fight and stuff. I am not sure how long the internet stays open though as these companies wish to lock the internet though.

The thing which helped me is that Zed, respectfully mate, quite frankly I don't even know you and you don't know me and that what point is of what opinion you have of me and what opinion I have of you, the only reason I respond though is to explain my thoughts rather than leaving them unanswered.

We meet each other through this distorted lens of comments and hate/rebuttals etc. I would consider that if we meet in public though you might not be able to say the same things but this is just something what happens when we can send comments with a mask (in this case, I don't even know what your pfp is, I think its called an e-girl), but hey that's the internet for ya :-)

Now, have a good day zed and lets hope and pray to the biloh bucks that this topic isn't derailed again.

there's too many actual issues in the world to waste time on someone screeching racism merely because race was mentioned in a conversation.

@zed said: there's too many actual issues in the world to waste time on someone screeching racism merely because race was mentioned in a conversation.

I don't necessarily quite know what you want me to say when I saw somebody like cheekydozen being blatantly racist towards Indians and saying deregoratory terms.

@buggedout said: @whynotlearn I understand you, I have seen lot of hatred being directed at us across many platforms but I think @rpqu did not meant the thing in a racist view, I think @rpqu was just trying to understand if KYC has been able to curb any scams. I hope @rpqu intended it as a policy or privacy discussion rather than all Indians are scammers.

Now, I must admit though that I might've felt that rpqu was being racist too and so as @buggedout @itachikonoha and others have said, i am sorry if I mis-interpreted what rpqu said as something racist, [It was probably because cheekydozen was being racist and then I had responded to him and rpqu responded back and I had thought that the discussion was firstly moving out of topic and that at first glance, and quite frankly there is so much racism towards Indian people online that I thought it was yet another one of it :-( ]

I am a human and if I made any mistake, I wish to improve even more within future!

Thanks and have a good day.

I once again (hope) that this discussion can finally talk about the problem of google at hand. This feature of qr code has already been implemented it seems from my understanding and some people are already getting hit by it from my understanding which is incredibly sad to see :-(

Say nothing. Flag the post and let the mods deal with it.

This could have been an interesting thread about an important topic, but the maybe 2 or 3 interesting comments have been drowned out by walls of text about racism.
