Yeah, Andrew from legal has been trying to chase me down.
I was looking through my emails and forgot I bought a yearly vps from them.
Wrong. I haven't been asked to pay anything beyond what I had already paid in advance to Lewis.
Btw, how charming to talk about a user without tagging ...
Sorry @jsg . It was unintentional.
Do you need an update?
Now that would be interesting
I somewhat agree in that Eric didn't come in with malicious intentions, but he couldn't handle criticism and questioning and, rather than just accepting the criticism and answering the simple questions, he doubled down and then reacted maliciously. I disagree that he was attacked violently, though. He was subject to the same treatment that any host would have gotten in that situation: questioning. All of this could have been avoided if he simply answered questions.
I do think things got a bit out of hand and there were some accusations that were over-the-top, but Eric's subsequent behavior eliminated all sympathy and benefit-of-the-doubt. If someone punches you and you go all war criminal in response, it doesn't matter if the original punch was justified; You're out of line and will be rightly remembered as in the wrong.
That word doesn't mean what you think it means.
I still have all services and no extortion emails. BOGO servers, triple RAM servers, and shared hosting all on triennial plans, I think.
There were IPv6 issues with the triple RAM server which was supposed to be escalated back around BF but closed for no updates. I just gave up on IPv6 since IPv4 was working fine. It may actually be better, I kind of wrote them off thinking they'd be shut down two months ago.
Latest email.
Happy Monday,
We're writing to let you know that your services will be migrated to our new infrastructure within the next few days. Downtime is typically just a few minutes, and we'll be in touch if any issues to reschedule. Because this is a massive migration that includes multiple backups, testing and manual verification for thousands of services we won't have an exact timeline for when your services will be migrated.
What We've Built
We've migrated to enterprise VMware hypervisors and rebuilt all of our tooling in-house from the ground up. Key improvements include:
• HA clustering with redundant failover
• Disaster recovery & business continuity
• Datacenter-to-datacenter tunneling
• Resource balancing, monitoring & reporting
• Load balancing & ongoing optimization
• Vulnerability management & penetration testing
• Enterprise-level stability & security
• Enhanced backup resources
• New billing, ticketing & management portal
How the Migration Works
We move services over in stages to minimize any disruption:
Already Covered
If your services are in US-East1 or US-East2, you've been running on this hardware since day one — no action needed on your end.
What Stays the Same
Your services, billing, and plans remain unchanged. This is purely an infrastructure upgrade to improve reliability and performance under the hood.
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to reply or open a ticket — we're happy to help.
Best regards,
Eric Banks
Velox Media Inc
Who would migrate to VMware?
To pay crazy licensing fees!
VeloxMediaWare?
And in fact his bullshit claim early on was that he bought Veloxmedia to gain the knowhow to migrate some other VMware services off VMware onto Solus.

Exactly my thought when I read the mail. Basically all the reasons of justifying VeloxMedia as a "budget" alternative to your Enterprise proposition are thrown away one by one, making that "budget" alternative even less sustainable - and there are still some unsustainable deals active without monthly payments.
I guess within a short time we'll hear of mails that state that "due to the recent move and costs involved, please pay more".
Eric exceed my expectation. He made irrational move I hadn't expect
Glad to be here for this next chapter, game on!
So this means all the servers in remaining locations, including US Fremont, UK, etc. are abandoned and forced to move to Ohio US east to reduce the server cost?
Just as expected.
Trying to work out if his other moves were rational but unexpected or irrational but expected!
If you're irrational, every unexpected move can/could be expected.
You know what kind of plan never fails? No plan at all.
{} == TrueIf you fail to plan, you plan to fail.
Aight... Discord dump moving to https://discord.boloxmedia.co.uk
hey did they accidentally the one server you're all on yet and sadly decide to stop providing vps services?
I'm an amateur, how can I determine if my Poland server is in Ohio now?
mtr?
Easy: Is everyone around the server speaking English or Polish?
