The history of the other side of LowEnd world?

What's the history of LowEndSpirit from LowEndTalk? Which one is older? And I saw the question "Why did LowEndSpirit (LES) fork from LowEndTalk (LET)?" from google search but that didn't give any information.

for $100 can you come for a sleep over?
There’s a sticky FAQ thread on OGF …
ehhhh mind give a link? can't find it.

so seems like someone who hated LET created their own LES?
There was a time when LET had insane moderation policies. Arguably, it's swung in the opposite direction now with too little moderation. It's hard to find a good balance. But basically yes, some people didn't like LET moderation or culture and created their own alternative. It's a lot smaller, but there are still providers who post deals there.
One big difference is that LES is a lot more strict about what providers are allowed to post there, whereas LET will generally not ban a provider unless they do something seriously wrong. Providers that they consider disreputable are providers that we may consider acceptable. We also get a lot more MJJs here and are more tolerant of them.
There isn't really any active hatred between the two at this time. Many people have accounts on both sites and don't get flack for it. LES is a little more calm and a little more cliquey. LET is larger but more chaotic and heterogeneous.
The other popular low-end forum is WebHostingTalk (WHT), but it's a lot more... corporate and the mods are insane.
I don't purport to know all of the history, but I think there have been several schisms. I'm pretty sure I read that LET was created by folks that thought that moderation at WHT was too strict.
Yes. With blackjack and hookers.
LES, off shrooms. LET, on shrooms.
and definitely more gay. @oloke is @Rubben still selling ExtraVM tanga / g-string pics?
Yes, and I resell those with 50% margin. Wanna buy some?
I only asked for @emgh
Buy, no, happy to be in the chain and take an extra margin
@MikeA make @Rubben create an OnlyFans, best marketing strat ever, trust
I’m already running an ExtraVM underwear ad campaign for him just look at my profile pic man
Extra spicy extra vm
wow
Are they lowend? I thought it's just a general hosting forum but not many people are active, just offers posting mainly
I don't think they lowend, they belong to the retarded-end of the hosting world.

ProviderTalk
LET (-)spam (-)drama (-)BillohBucks = LES
But it's also smaller and has fewer providers.
You can visit LES once a month and nothing new happens. You've to visit LET every other day or you miss a drama, outage, review, deal.
LES for me felt like it had more production ready and reputable providers at higher cost. LET felt like there was a ton more options at a cheaper price point, but at the cost of a little more risk and perhaps time involved.
There's a little bit of fun in exploring uncharted providers and making weird specs work. Sometimes you find hidden gems, but i can understand its not for everyone.
This thread reminds me of LES, and yes, I was banned. I've lost count of how many spam posts I made.
But I didn't mean to spam. If I remember correctly, there was a requirement to post a certain number of posts to allow the offer thread to be allowed (maybe).

Thanks @bikegremlin for being a good moderator
So less chance of deadpools and scams.
But also a lower chance of success. Smaller doesn't necessarily mean higher quality.
If I have a query, I am much more likely to 'see' (and get) an answer on LES. On LET it just drops off the first page in a couple of hours.
I post a free Open Source VPS offer on LET and without interaction its gone within a day, on LES at least it is visible.
LES is 'calmer', LET is fiery drama.
LET has much more 'junk' messages - 'post for extra xxx'.
I am obviously on both but just get fed up on LET with 'mjj' and continuously seeing requests to push providers lower and lower.
I understand why there was the fork and feel it was the correct move - let the 'market' decide.
Only if amounts of clicks and ad views matters
Oh for sure, I hate that and I think LES does right by prohibiting the spamming of "X is the best and has awesome offers!" for double bandwidth.
Agree. I think they complement each other and shouldn't be rivals. Different tools for different jobs.
That 'post your invoice for double the bullshit' that providers use to stay on the first page is a cancer to my eyes. I had to make blocklists to hide them so I can have an Ok experience on LET. Same for MJJ drama, the first one is funny but it's always the same scenario, it gets boring. Many fun topics to read and participate in otherwise. And proper LET drama is hard to beat.
