If I have a query, I am much more likely to 'see' (and get) an answer on LES. On LET it just drops off the first page in a couple of hours.
I post a free Open Source VPS offer on LET and without interaction its gone within a day, on LES at least it is visible.
LES is 'calmer', LET is fiery drama.
LET has much more 'junk' messages - 'post for extra xxx'.
I am obviously on both but just get fed up on LET with 'mjj' and continuously seeing requests to push providers lower and lower.
I understand why there was the fork and feel it was the correct move - let the 'market' decide.

That 'post your invoice for double the bullshit' that providers use to stay on the first page is a cancer to my eyes.

Some providers rely on it to know who's really purchasing them. Ending them will bring consequence. If continued, it's an eyesore

And when coupled with single doubling per user, it means that the offers are actually for LET members rather than just being reposted on some other forum. (As an example, in the purple daddy BF thread, one user came around 8th place in the leaderboard just from posting "double my resources", and often multiple order numbers per post, so he was clearly just reselling).

Whether it's beneficial for the providers to restrict offers to a single forum is an entirely different matter though.

Yeah. Also, thanks for the trivia.
Unless it was a unsustainable deals, I don't think hosts are unhappy. But it will turn 180° if the client abuse resources

@ralf, I think it's bots. The operator most likely to operate multiple accounts.

for $100 can you come for a sleep over?

Come to my hotel this week, we watch DVDNow together and then do pushups on the balcony.

That 'post your invoice for double the bullshit' that providers use to stay on the first page is a cancer to my eyes. I had to make blocklists to hide them so I can have an Ok experience on LET. Same for MJJ drama, the first one is funny but it's always the same scenario, it gets boring. Many fun topics to read and participate in otherwise. And proper LET drama is hard to beat.

I did that once and it was not really to always stay on the first page. LET lacks guidelines on how often it is appropriate to bump the thread. I think adding a button or making a rule that allows thread to be bumped with simple "This is a bump" message would resolve the problem (for example every 24 hours). Some forums have that and this looks like a LET-specific problem. Some forums also has rules that only one message from provider counts as a bump (moves the thread higher on the page) every 24 hours, but this wouldn't resolve the problem with XXX of users bumping it for someone.

I can see the amount of hate this has, so I decided to not do such promo for my second offer thread.

Operator could adjust the reply time so the thread stay relatively at the top. This is also the reason why some host doesn't offer all of the offerings at once, to build organic conversation. On the other hand, it's also liability since customer have high expectations.
It's not like we hate their offerings, but when a big part of the thread is doubling message, it's boring
