ping me if will available
@stufently It is available
Are there any limits when it comes to wireguard?
I'm here scratching my head as to why I'm getting no more than 3mbps download speeds with this server. It seems not to be the classical MTU problems as I went all the way down to 1280 without any difference.
A speedtest directly from the server shows full 1gbit/s. Also running htop while doing that doesn't show a cpu spike higher than 10%. Even though I've used different low end servers for this for quite a while, this is the first time I wonder if it's like this on purpose or somehow I'm making a mistake on something I've configured over and over
Its possible to be like with other DE providers, their upstream (usually ghostnet) limit udp speed. Try openvpn on tcp and report here.
Interesting. I tried instead to run an iperf3 udp test from one server in the UK and another in Italy onto this VPS, and it seems indeed that UDP is rate limited or something similar is going on.
Quite a disappointment to be honest; I'd expect a provider to communicate this clearly.
Test from UK (UDP)
~# iperf3 -c 109.175.211.x -u -b 100MTest from UK (TCP)
iperf3 -c 109.175.211.x -b 100MTest from Italy (UDP)
~# iperf3 -c 109.175.211.x -u -b 100MTest from Italy (TCP)
~# iperf3 -c 109.175.211.x -b 100MInteresting, we will check this. We don't use Ghostnet.
TCP performance is excellent (I am using Cloudflare's free CDN); both origin-pull speeds and latency are very good.
However, UDP traffic is indeed subject to very noticeable limitations. Aside from that, everything else is great. @sthosting
Did you set the MTU on both sides? Please test multistream with -P 10. I did some testings from around the world and can don´t have this problem. Anyways, this could be solved already if you use our ticket system instead this forum for support. If it still not works as desibred please open a ticket.
If your issue is related to something other than WireGuard, I would also ask you to open a ticket.
Sorry I dont speak Spanish..
Thank you for your reply. The next time I encounter this issue, I will reproduce the scenario and submit a support ticket.
Oh, I am sorry, me too
I don't know where you're getting your information from, but it's completely wrong. We don't use Ghostnet, and neither do most other providers. Anyone can view this information publicly on peeringdb, bgp.tool, etc.
I've had this on many german servers, thats why i wrote usually, never said you are using them. They blamed it on ddos filters, which is still not fixed (to be fair, they seems to soften the filtering little, but still not full speed). Hence, i was not wrong about udp filtering.
ok got it thanks
5 servers left. There won't be another refill.
@sthosting
Sorry to bother you here, but I have an open ticket which was over 24 hours.Would you mind to take a look? Thank you!
Payments via credit card are possible now using Mollie.
Thank you, we can see open support tickets. Your problem isn't solved within a few minutes obviously, so it will need some time for a solution.
Thanks for looking into it. So weird, not sure if other users on the same subnet faced the same situation! Only me?
No, currently just you.
@sthosting any may deal coming?
If by mbps you mean mbit/s i can very much tell you that there isn't a cap at 3. If you are referring to mb/s though i don't know. My setup doesn't push/pull much more than that anyways.
Did we find out what is wrong with> @DejavuMoe said:
Did you find out what is wrong with UDP?
The mystery is solved.
"The 1 Mbps limit you are seeing during your iperf3 tests is a default behavior of the iperf3 tool in UDP mode, not an indication of your server's actual bandwidth capacity. When you run iperf3 in UDP mode without specifying a target bandwidth using the -b flag, the tool automatically defaults to a test rate of 1 Mbps . To test the actual capacity of your network, you must explicitly set a higher target bitrate (for example, iperf3 -c -u -b 100M) "
Sorry st hosting for the mess.
So, can you run wireguard and check the speeds ?
@sthosting Will you have any similar/comparable deals coming up. I missed this one.
Not the best but not 1Mbits
