Now that you have made a meme, I got interested too, so not sure how good of a meme I have made, but I made a meme of this situation myself too :-)

If he makes users choose between terminating MXroute plan or closing LET account, it would be tough.

I think half of LET already moved to CraneMail over the past 18 months.

We are clutching $3/3y Black Friday plan.

There are also several resellers such as @MichaelCee and @webhorizon locked in.

What would @host_c choose between MXroute and LET?

    Oh no

I was not a fan of @WyvernCo and @forest following @jar around and them bringing up the same drama in multiple posts.

I could understand jar refunding users that leave negative reviews.

But this doxxing is way too far.

And the argument "it wasn't the real employer" is insanely stupid. That's like saying "oh you tried to shoot me but missed, so it's okay".

Anyways, is @NameCrane hiding any bodies or are they are a valid alternative? And how about some refugee deals? o:)

A provider is allowed to not advertise wherever and whenever they wish. If a provider wants to move away from LET, they're allowed to do so according to their will. Everything changes and transforms, as well as people, providers and communities.

Problem is LET loves drama, so it needs to take something like this and blow it out of proportion. Everybody here loves drama, even the admins which meanwhile get more SEO towards the increase of bilohbucks.

I still don't understand why @jar had to literally shoot himself in foot with this post. I mean, I suppose that @WyvernCo had been sitting on that image for I suppose sometime now and they didn't show it to us all until this thread. So It was this post by jar again which finally triggered them to show the picture which might lead to eventual breakdown of MXRoute because the optics look extremely bad (Even the word extremely is an understatement)

No! Hell no! Personally I would not want to remember a provider because I got an offer from them when someone else was doxing. It is like having a memory of a provider, with the word doxing in the same phrase (even though such word is not connected to them). I don't think this is a kind of SEO one would want to have connected to their memory or their history. If someone would want to make a hosting offer, it would be better to use Easter as justification, or the provider poll which is currently running as LET announcement, or the spring, or the flowers, or belief in humanity, or even hope for world peace.

    Wow, what a mess.

Someone definitely stepped in it here.

I’d encourage @jar to take a step back and show some respect to the customers and community members he’s built a business on here over the years. It’s pretty clear that emotion got the better of him, and it led to crossing a line. Not a great look.

I’ve known @jar for more than a decade. He runs hot, and I do believe he’s generally well intentioned, but that doesn’t excuse how this was handled. I’d bet he knows that already.

To be clear for everyone: no one is required to pay for a provider tag or to sell services here. And having a provider tag, regardless of tenure, doesn’t grant special treatment or immunity from criticism. This community works because those lines are held consistently.

Separately, doxxing or anything close to it is not acceptable here. We take that very seriously. The moderation team is reviewing everything in this thread privately and we will take action where appropriate.

This place has always been a two way street. Providers and customers both benefit from it, and mutual respect is what keeps it working.

Hopefully this cools down and we can get back to that.

Clearly, he has personality defects. He's a good product manager who can make good products, but not a good boss. As a boss, you can't just say whatever you want.

You should look up what the word 'literally' mean. Jar is a Texan. Even while drunk I don't believe his gun safety would be so poor as to shoot himself in the foot. They try to be gangsta and wind up shooting themselves in the ass or blowing their manbits off but never in the foot.

@jbiloh, I don't think that what @jar might do from now on might even help from now on, as sad as it sounds, but some large irrecoverable damage has already been done and now @jar is stuck within his own purgatory hell that he made. At best he can reflect on what he did, but for something as crucial as E-mail, the E-mail providers don't have multiple strikes to fall back on. (atleast personally) Their reputation/lookwithin the community/trust (how much I can trust them) is really the largest factor after which the second factors are reliability/deliverability/support.

I wonder how many people in this thread know that @jar was the admin of LowEndTalk for several years - from the end of 2015 to early 2018. That was during one of its rougher periods were the forum was more or less adrift without owner support, in the pre-Biloh-ownership era.

Just logged in to write this shit so much love for you @jar.

I hope he doesn't come why? MXRoute was founded by Jarland and Ryan.

Does anyone remember Gordon from @Incero which just terminated any customer he didn't like?

    Who worked for @Incero? Ryan!

Ryan and Jarland are the best friends so they came to conclusion they can do what @Incero did to their customers (terminating accounts and keeping the money).

    See https://lowendtalk.com/discussion/137536/incero-amp-speedykvm-throws-the-ban-hammer-at-all-let-members/

This community made the MXRoute a popular email service that used cPanel / DirectAdmin while there are tons of such services.

@jar without LET you'd never get one customer but you've used this place to promote your small business and now you're gone! HAHAHA!!!

  • HotmarerHotmarer Member

We need to make some kind of warning list for new LET users like: not to store p0rn on charityhost and not to store private information on mxroute that can be used for doxing.
