AvenaCloud suspended and deleted my paid VPS for non-payment... ah, well...
Please allow me to go into full MJJ mode
Not because I would be losing millions, or because the existence of seven generations of descendants depends on this inexpensive VPS, but because it reveals malpractice and incompetence (malpractice and incompetence - this sounds almost like proper AI slop, right?
) on the part of a host that could seriously harm someone's business. Luckily not mine, as it was just one long term inexpensive idler more.
- 22.3.2026 I received an invoice with due date 29.3.2026
- 27.3.2026 I paid that invoice
- 27.3.2026 now it gets interesting, hours after the payment I received another payment reminder
Their system didn't notice the payment. No problem, it happens - that's what the support system is for. I opened a support ticket to prevent suspension in the forthcoming days. - 29.3.2026 no ticket response yet, VPS got suspended, I notified them about this
- 31.3.2026 still no ticket response, VPS suspended for two days, I tried other channels, for example this forum, to get in touch with the host
- 1.4.2026 – VPS paid on time, terminated because of non-payment
Till this date, I haven't received any response from the host.
Now I understand that things can go wrong - there may be an issue with their billing software, or with the connection between the payment processor and them, and so on... But the real problem is that after something like this happens, the client is practically helpless if the host ignores its own support ticketing system for days... or now we're close to a full week.
That's not just a mistake that can happen to anyone, but neglecting its own business at the expense of the customer.
Since I lost the VPS and the money, and they are not responding, it seems like my only option is to open a PayPal dispute. Damn, I hate those things...

And today, with the VPS termination final...

Comments
Let's see how @AvenaCloud justifies itself
can it be April's fool.
@AvenaCloud best to refund our Mumbly
It is not. We EURO-MJJs take our long-term idlers seriously! After all one day we may use them. One day...

what if you send them some extra
That’s never occurred to me. Where had you been before my VPS actually got terminated?
Interesting. My renewal is in September and it is scary already. I do hope they will sort it.
It's funny how billing systems still fail their most important job from time to time. I had some similar experience with other provider and now I pay the invoices as soon as possible + trauma habit to take screenshot of every single transaction (just in case).
If it's not broken, the vendor wouldn't be able to sell customized product and consulting fees
@AvenaCloud last active March 22
In addition, here's a thread from the end of February that wasn't encouraging:

Ya it does not look good, hopefully they are not deadpooling
chargeback yesterday.
You can subscribe to my Great Ideas(tm) service for a small monthly fee and never miss out again!
yabs please!
Hope you have your backups.
I just opened a case with PayPal and got a refund almost instantly, without the seller's intervention. Interesting.
Things like that happen. It could be on them, it could be on the payment processor. It can. And I don't blame them for that.
The biggest issue I see is that there's some length between:
invoice - payment - due notification - support ticket - service expiration and suspension - my attempt to get in touch with them every possible way - service termination
Even if shit hits the fan, it's easily solvable if someone actually reads support tickets from time to time, so that's solely on them.
another non responsive ticket-system... is this the new normal?
i smell deadpool
deadpool. likely repeated chargebacks had been filed and undisputed
Of course. That's the sole purpose of having idlers.
To maintain them all the time, backup regularly, monitor uptime religiously and of course to pay the invoice.
Amen brother
I don't understand anything, but I'm very curious what will happen next?
They didn't think anyone would pay, so they delete all VPS by default
I was entering my third year, so that was actually my third yearly payment.
But yeah, a lot of things can happen next, especially if you read CNN.
I have same problem the support is not answering for 15 days and i did pay for the vps but they will suspend it today -- the owner died i think
Look for alternatives. Once it gets auto-suspended, expect termination in 3 - 4 days.
If true, that's sad news. They were last Active March 22. Does anyone know if they were a solo operation? I couldn't tell from their about page.
The guy who owns AvenaCloud seems to have owned AlexHost at one point so maybe they can answer for whether or not he is dead
Something interesting just happened.
I received a message from PayPal saying:
Of course, there's nothing in my account, and there's still no response to my ticket. Their actions smell like fraud.
Damn, really not good.
