Does anyone think one of these plans would be suitable for some SFTP backups?
I am familiar with Linux but not so familiar with having servers exposed to the internet. What would I have to do / recommended to get get things reasonably secured once purchased?
Never had a VPS before what do you actually get to manage the VPS remotely? Is it just all done via a SSH session? What do I do if I break something and need a clean install or want to try a different operating system? Is just a basic Ubuntu / Debian server image available I do not need a GUI?

How are you man? I can help some here. The VMs are great for SFTP backups. Everything is RAID-5 HDD and optimized for storage, not heavy 4k I/O. You can manage everything via SSH and the Virtualizor end-user panel. Ubuntu and Debian are available, and everything can be reinstalled from there with a few clicks.
