Small/no-bs hosting providers
Hello! I'm new to the community but definitely not new to VPS hosting. I'm a big fan of the "no bs", simple hosting providers (examples: SlowServers.net, Cockbox.org, Kyun.sh, SporeStack.com, etc).
I generally bounce around on a month-by-month basis with new hosting to test out smaller providers that have a similar outlook of the "anti-corp" slop that a lot of huge hosting providers have now.
If any of you know of any more providers like this, let me know!

Don't know about the BS part but when thinking of cocks, @tentor 's skhron.eu comes to mind.
hi,
@Alyx calibour.com
@tentor skhron.eu
@3K33 strike.bz
All above are both customer and privacy focused. Relatively small providers with "no bs" as you call it
Thanks for the recommendation! Indeed I think we pass OP’s criteria
You may also be interested in privex, there's others listed on some of the cryptocurrency directories as well (especially monero ones).
Some providers that (AFAIK) don't do KYC, have (IMHO) reasonable ToS and multiple payment methods (including crypto), and (in my experience) are friendly and nice people:
(Also for Layer7 and Calibour, only name, email and country seem to be required when signing up.)
They ask for address as well.
I know that @Saragoldfarb is working on something great.
Oh, and hi @Murv 👋🏻
I think they changed that, everything except for the country is shown as optional:

Oh, good to know. Need to delete my address then
P.S. not possible
noez.de ask only email for sign up
No bullshit here. We just require an email at sign up for the purpose of sending notices (invoices, account creation, etc). Feel free to use whatever mail provider or relay service you want for that.
Privacy and speech is our deal, founded in 20202 because we were tired of big-tech giants deciding whose voice to silence based on what angry mobs of non-would-be-customers complaining.
Back to the future
20202... You're from the future?
Tell me, do we still have anime in 20202!?
In 20202 you are the anime!
@aluy my love !!
No bullshit until you need to make up excuses for why tickets go unanswered for months...
20202 is the ZIP code for U.S. Capitol, Supreme Court, and Library of Congress area.
This is because @MannDude was born in the restroom of Capitol Visitor Center when his mother took a tour of the Capitol building.
He was delivered by a Capitol Police officer who holds EMT certification.
Subsequently, the mother and the baby ( @MannDude ) were rushed to Children's National by police helicopter, where he spent the first three days of his life.
Have you ever thought about becoming a light novel writer?
You could write some good isekai ones.
Because the services are mostly self managed. Ain't no excuse, we're a small team and id rather keep my $25/hr entry level help that I trust than to outsource to faster but less trusted 3rd party companies. I could use AI or hire some questionable support team tonight to man the help desk but choose not to. Would probably be cheaper but ultimately less trusted.
I've never said our support is fast or available around the clock. There are better hosts if you need a quick response time to general support requests.
EDIT: With that said, there is a slew of stuff that is waiting on my response but I'm swamped with work. 90% of support related complaints are my fault, so I don't mind taking the blame. Trying to get more organized so I don't get lost in other project stuff and spend a couple hours a day at least busting out the pending tasks / things set for me and me alone. You may consider that bullshit, that's fine.
I think you probably should consider putting it somewhere on the product page, so customers will not when they buy a VPS from you. Hosthatch did it for sale servers, there is a banner telling customers that support is limited for this type of product.
In your case I am not sure whether it will deter customers from buying but at least this would be more transparent, otherwise clients pick it up from LET, which is not supposed to happen. Unless all customers are LET users
I like to give no bullshit.

Depending on what you call B.S. ...

Shall we tell you to upgrade to $$/mo your $/mo for 5-10-30 mins overusage? Nope.
Shall we ask for KYC validation if your name is Amanda Righetti, address is Ukraine-based and CC is in France or(/and) you have 99+ fraud score? Sure.
Just wanted to pop back in and thank you all for the responses, I have actually used or looked into many of the providers listed. And I'm sure I'll be testing out at least one at the end of my websites billing cycle, in a couple of days.
To clarify, when I say no bs - I generally mean minimal KYC, near instant setup, a "jump right in" type of setup that still favors the users privacy in most regards. Optional crypto is obviously also nice, generally speaking, I don't really care about the location for what I'm currently working on.
Great smaller provider with great smaller VPSes: https://hosting.gullo.me/ by @Cam
