To all current customers, how's the uptime on the storage box? I just want good uptime

I can remember 3 downtimes last year, the longest between 1-2 hours, one around 1 hour and one like 20 minutes. Other than that it has seriously always worked perfectly fine.
This is the Germany datacenter and I have my box SSHFS-mounted on 7-10 machines at all times so I notice pretty fast if some shit goes down :P

Do note that this is Hetrixtools PHP agent; it might show down when it's just PHP having a bad PHP-day, but because of the way it works if it show up it is always actually up.

This includes the maintenance (migration) Labze already mentioned PLUS some time for me to re-enable the Hetrixtools PHP cron job.
The "downtime" shown in the last 30 days is PHP acting up; i still have that mail from Hetrixtools and it was "down" for 3 minutes lmao.

    I'm waaaay beyond satisfied.

  • @labze just wondering, do you really backup these storage boxes?

No, nor is that claimed :-)

That simply wouldn't be feasible at this cost.

I backup my lifes work on it, in Hostbrr we trust, jk it's in addition to backblaze and will eventually replace storj who grew too fast and screwed their early adopters (take over by private money firm), I have until end of next year to decide if I want to stay and pay a few 100% more per month.. I wrote a few rysnc apps to interface with hostbrr that work just like my s3 object stuff for backblaze, works great!

  • Hi @labze, StorageBox - Germany is out of stock, any ETA /plan to restock please?

But they're R6 (with NVME cache) IIRC? I know you've written about it previously but your threads are long haha

RAID-60 with three underlying RAID6 arrays. So it can withstand 2-6 drive failures depending on the failure spread.

I have 2TB storagebox DE idling with me, can transfer it as i have got another service from Hostbrr. But i think service transfer aint available for storagebox services. If it can be done i am up for the transfer if anybody needs it.

Btw, @labze, is it normal for iowait to be so high on these nodes?

Later edit, it’s not a complaint, the actual write speed for the (attached) block storage is around 80MB/s, it’s just that the iowait seems strange and will show as spikes in the metrics even though it’s just a write operation. In any case, the price the cpu + storage + ram + stability are an awesome deal.

EPIC-EPYC Anniversary with HDD Storage Block

Many systems has initiated their RAID-parity check. This does degrade performance while on-going. Some systems are taking longer than expected. I am looking into better ways to handle this.

Sure, you can do direct transfers to wallet of some normal currencies. USDC, ETH, BTC, BCH, LTC, DOGE and so on.

Just open a ticket for this.

At first I thought it would be Beszel cause it looked a lot like it but I never saw that CPU time thing so it got me thinking.
