    My expectation was that everyone on cPanel was pretty well set up and just went directly there without a need for anything in between. But if you need me to reset your cPanel password so you can do that, just ping me in a ticket.

    Originally I was going to add a cPanel API layer, but I decided that it's just not a good use of time. When the time is right, everyone will be migrated to new systems.

  • So to summarize... The Client / Billing dashboard previously available at https://accounts.mxroute.com/index.php?/clientarea/ is now replaced with / redirecting to https://management.mxroute.com/login. As well as the DA Hosting panel previously available at https://server-name.mxrouting.net:2222/evo/login was temporarily replaced by https://panel.mxroute.com/login.php, however this should be phased out and only available as a button from within the Client / Billing dashboard above.

    Do I have this right, and should update my password manager accordingly? Sorry if this doesn't belong in the reseller thread :smile:

    Let me know if you run into trouble. I'm calling it "beta" while I collect feedback. There may be some edge cases that I need to account for, but all of the quirks we've worked out so far with the new panel should be accounted for in the API. I spent an entire day auditing it and making little tweaks that "should" make it perfect.

    Hey @jar:

    Where should we provide basic feedback on the new API?
    LET, Ticket, Email?

    It seems like fetching email accounts doesn't reflect the correct usage,quota,limit - it always seems to be:

          "quota": 0,
          "usage": 0,
          "limit": 9600,
          "sent": 0,
          "suspended": false

    Yeah the DA quota system just doesn't work well. I'm gonna leave it there and replace the function in the near future with an in-house quota system. Some people will see values returned there, but not everyone yet.

    If I don't hit any major snags, ETA for the new quote system will be by end of January.

    The only thing holding me back right now is that I haven't reached it in the priority list. Today, for example, I'm taking on DirectAdmin killing login sessions before the configured session timeout.

    Seriously if I can offer anyone advice it's this: Work at McDonald's and get it right before launch. Don't rent software as a shortcut to starting a business. Even if you're like me and it was just a means to an end on the part of the product you weren't interested in, it comes back to haunt you.

    By unusually popular demand, we now have automated 2FA removal for MXroute accounts. However, be prepared to spread your cheeks and lift your sack for the webcam.

    This operation requires three hands.

    On the other hand - it is better to start imperfect, than to never start (because it will never be perfect and you don't know what you don't know).

    New API is live: https://api.mxroute.com

    In the new control panel the "API Keys" section will help you enable it. The goal here is that maybe our next server doesn't have a licensed control panel, maybe it's a completely in-house stack with backwards compatibility over the API so that end users never have to change their workflows or code again.

    What practical uses can the API be used for?

    The sky is the limit. One thing I've been meaning to create after this is a browser addon that auto generates and creates aliases for website registrations.

    That'd me neat. Vibe coding can do it very easily. Just get an API done.

    Gotta be careful with vibe coding. But I know you are, you know how to code fine. But all of these people who don't even know how to read it are going to make an interesting 2026 😂

    Sorry for the late response, definitely right Jarland!

    I hate to not be honest, but honesty does sound a bit bad here. I'm gonna say it anyway. It's purely on an "if/when I feel like it" basis.

    I do feel like it right now.

  • It would be nice if you can restock the small black Friday plan too. I missed out on that one. Thanks.

    The Small plan I'm afraid only makes a reappearance if someone cancels one or next year.

  • Speaking of plans, I know a lot of LET fellas here have multiple plans active, so if someone has "Black Friday 2024 - BF 2024 Flash25G" willing to transfer, please let me know.

    I also do know @jar generally doesn't allow transfers, but he might still "feeling like it", as I already managed to grab it last year when the deal was posted, but due to some payment related issue, which I can't remember anymore, I couldn't purchase it. Although I still see it under invoices.

    If we're talking about satisfying my petty side, for sure. If we're talking about for the financial benefit of MXroute, also yes :joy:

    Hey jar I would like to thank you for the API so much 💪.
    I've started using it a lot and it's a game changer. I was previously using DA API but this is much simpler.
    Thanks 🤝.

    On the "Spam Filters" page in the new control panel, there is now an opt in for AI spam filtering. The test will be for a limited number of users. It will run from January 20 until February 20. Some notes, also outlined in the panel:

    1. Email identified as spam by AI will be silently rejected.
    2. You will have no visibility on what was rejected, though I don't expect false positives as much as I expect false negatives.
    3. An AI generated summary of scanned email will be logged, you will not see this. I will.
    4. SpamAssassin settings will be bypassed during the test.
    5. If the test is stopped or fails at any time, your SpamAssassin settings will be used as fallback.
    6. All email will be processed by in-house AI, not a third party.
    7. This is not available for customers of resellers during this testing phase.

    A few more spots are opened up for the AI spam filter beta test that starts Tuesday. I cannot stress this enough: This is the greatest spam filter I have ever witnessed.

    I believe that I am going to be able to offer competitive pricing on it, and provide the single best spam filter that you will ever experience. Still working out logistics for the final implementation, but every test so far is showing that this is going to scale incredibly well.

    This detail has been removed from the test:

    Email identified as spam by AI will be silently rejected

  • Looking more and more like replicating MXRoute by simply (lol) setting up a server with directadmin with web hosting disabled, is past. I mean MXRoute has always excelled in terms of deliverablity, but further differentiation is always good

    Very true!

    What I admire even more is that the API abstraction is a decent product in and of itself! Great work jar.

    Just as an FYI, the remaining stock of Black Friday promos have been increased by $5 across the board. We have an incredible year ahead with almost everything that people want in a mail service. We need to continue to try to balance the commitment to the pricing model with the need to pay for everything that needs to happen.
