Oh, at least they did take my feedback and replace "<50ms uptime" with "<50ms ping".

EDIT: comparing with that old capture, it seems there are no companies that trust them any more.

A thing about this thread is that the scammers can't help but keep involving themselves. But I guess @itsTomHarper had the "Megathread squad" tag so hyperactive posting is just something they do.

He meant Female Body Inspector not the real FBI

I have but unlike LET lemmings listening to LET legal I have yet no reason to take any action.

People pre-pay for a service for 3 years, then 1 month into it the provider invoices them additional money to continue the service. How is that not reason to take action? Even for people not yet affected it makes sense to preemptively protect against this.

Is this the behavior of a host that you would trust with data or rely on in any way whatsoever?

Literally don't care what others paid for or how their situation is being handled only my own.

Which is why I also don't follow the advice by LET legal

Nobody is asking you to care for other people, that’s on you.

I’m just astounded at your inability to deduce that if he is fucking other people over he will likely also fuck you over.

If all you’re doing is running yabs on that box and are within refund window then it’s whatever.

But I wouldn’t trust “Eric” with any kind of personal or proprietary business data.

You assume that I have not discussed the issue.

    I have.

My services are online and until that changes I don't need to do anything.

You ordered a 3 year service right?

    No

  • Dayum I was planning to reduce my idler, but not this way.

From my five vpses with them (3 yearly, 2 triennially), one is going to be discontinued.
Sadly that one was purchased in July last year, so the money is gone at this point.

Eric said that they "intent to honour" the other four. I want to believe that, but I'm also a bit skeptical after the development here.

I paid with my Visa debit card via Stripe. But to my knowledge, according to my bank's T&C, I've already passed the 14-day dispute window. On Monday I tried explaining this case to them, complete with the evidence. But after some back and forth, while also mentioning Visa's 120-day dispute window, I'm still out of luck. So I can't even dispute the transaction that is still within the 120-day window.

I might have to eat the realized and potential losses, since no one can guarantee the vpses will last until the end of their billing cycles, esp the triennially.

Learned the hard way I guess.

I intent to believe him. Intent.
Woops, changed my mind, I don't believe him.

So, I kept my promise that I had the intention.

He said that of all VPSes that came through Lewis. And also "intent to honour" may also mean that he's willing to keep them alive if you want to pay for them.

Just wondering: had the plan that is killed the term "LET" in its name?

I'm sorry to disappoint, but based on what I found, they appear to be two separate individuals. And for what it's worth, Tom Harper isn't his real name :) Even so, I still think we should hear from @itsTomHarper as he was the one selling aggresively during BF and has not said a word since then.

Ain't his real name, that's obvious... What did you find to think so?

I did login and found no change.

I can't be 100% certain of course until jan. 15 has passed but my guess still is what it was all the time: Eric did have good intentions (and yes I saw clear indicators) but due to the witch hunt and the toxicity here came to the conclusion to cancel some/a lot(?) of the VPSs sold here or at least those that were below @VeloxMedia's cost, like e.g. €/$/pounds 4/yr. like yours.

You can believe and think whatever you want. My conclusions are different. I've witnessed this thing from the start, and you saw it escalating. The escalation was definitely not full on the account of visitors here, but quite a big part of it was due to how "Eric" communicated. Maybe I should put that last word between quotes also.

At first questions where asked and advice was given, but he simply had an air of "I know better". If then it turns out that, on Boxing day, you sent a "legal" and threathening mail to this forum (legal between brackets because my judgement is that it's a ChatGPT or badly created collection of terms that a real lawyer wouldn't use), you have me really against you.

Ofcourse, legally the whole transaction (from the point of view of "Eric") can be legal, but tell me, we're over 3 weeks after that, did you receive a message - as a previous customer of "Lewis" - that your VPS is currently running with a new owner from another country? Do you think that's right? Does it make sense that someone "takes over" a "company" and it's assets without the thing that could make money (customers - but in the meanwhile has control over those people's data and services, declare that he has no obligations against them, aren't his customers but then approaches them saying "if you want to continue pay me" and thus using the customer data (while declared not part of the deal)) - and after that migrating away from those assetts? The whole story about Lewis being part of the transition, then not, and then mentioned "for legal reasons" in the ToS and then suddenly removed again?

It could all be right in their own right; as a whole it stinks. Badly. But again, could still be good fish - but I won't buy it. If you want, go ahead. You could end up with a delicious meal or one you become really sick from.

Still haven't received that email tbh. Window is closing fast as I am really curious how Velox got my data from Lewis.
