Deadpool offers for $7/yr when? @VeloxMedia
who would have seen that coming...
o7
@itsTomHarper maybe
Can we get a wheelspin to celebrate?
Not deadpool but exit scam as expected.
Anyway, just raising awareness...
Chargeback yesterday. Unless you @jsg and all happy.
Always meant to ask... The typo in your sig intentional?
it is what it is
I love that take on life
I already opened a case at paypal and got my money back within 60 seconds, but I would be willing to spend some bucks to support a lawsuit against him if there will be a gofundme
BTW, how long do I need to wait until my severe warning is removed?
That's a long long time... I dunno... @emgh ?
I was sure Veloxmedia would exit the market—or at least become unsustainable—once I saw their AMS location relies on @ServerNet upstream. They were selling service to other clients at prices that seemed far too low relative to what they must have been paying for upstream—unless they had some special deal or hidden contract in place—so I don’t think it was sustainable.
@Saragoldfarb
This thread's title is misleading.
Because it's not @VeloxMedia that is deadpooling. It is Lewis' operation!
If I'm not mistaken "VeloxMedia Inc." now is a company unrelated to the company or sole trader that sold VPS here until short before Chistmas 2025.
As the situation seems to be quite confusing already, please do not add to it!
Honestly the RAM allocation is what did it for me, even without looking at their upstream. I have been paying attention to the server/hosting market (at least from the consumer perspective) for the past ~10 years and I know that RAM is what people always, always skimp on even before the current AI-backed shortages. Historically the only providers who offered high RAM allocations either gave you 1 low power core so you couldn't realistically run any applications that would benefit from the high RAM, or they'd fake the RAM with hypervisor-level SWAP, or it would be oversold. So, a scam either way you look at it.
That is hilarious and borders on encouraging fraud. But we're looking at several levels of fraud here. so what's one more to add to the pile? First we have a host selling services that don't exist, then we have the host selling a business without any liabilities (man that's a good deal when you can get it!) then you have the new host telling people to chargeback the old host. Nobody is going to court over a $30/year server but man I'd love to see the bankruptcy court arguments on this one!
+1 on this one. We need a lawyer to open a case and accept GoFundMe or some form of donation to represent donors.
I had assumed that they would bank on the fact that most users would buy it without needing anywhere near that much memory. Then they could just turn on memory ballooning if things started getting bad and cannibalize some of the high-memory plans.
well lewis sold the company on reddit (I think right?), time to get a lawyer from reddit too xD
That's a great idea. Such lawsuit will be awesome seeing 2 reddit members fighting in arguments.
how does a $12M company deadpool this soon
And how does a company with 4.8 mark (out of 5.0) on ServerVerify deadpool?
Your Honour, my client seeks leave to amend his Statement of Claim because the Respondent has said "I fucked your mom" and we need to put on submissions in reply.
Title needs to be changed though. Currently it is misleading and click bait.
btw: how long i need to wait until my SEVERE warning will get removed?> @jsg said:
Haha you are believing that statement?
I kindly request for ex-provider VeloxMedia to be permanently banned from LET.
Reasons:
Calling official admins in my request for this ban: @trewq / @jbiloh / @FAT32
Calling official moderators (I don't know if you have such power): @hawc / @Jord / @netomx / @angstrom / @DP
It didn't. Lewis, AFAIK a solde trader did.
VeloxMedia Deadpool + VeloxMedia exit scam
this should be the right and legit title.
Well, it think some users on LET blindly purchased vps from them. All the VeloxMedia deal threads posted on LET are marketed as "Velox Media" and not "Lewis" offers. Please go and check all threads. I had purchased from Velox Media. I don't care if it was Lewis, Eric, Tom, Dick, Harry as the owner. What was printed on my invoice, official email receipts is Velox Media. I only purchased from Velox Media and it turned into utter SCAM operation.
So, I did a legit successful chargeback when Velox Media told publicly that they'll not honor their earlier deals that they sold from veloxmedia.co.uk
Later all the drama was created by this misreable provider on discord and here on LET which tarnished veloxmedia brand, their negligible reputation, and trust from current and future velox media customers.
So yes, VeloxMedia finally deadpool by winding up their ass from here. I gotta DMs that many users filed complaints with PayPal about threats they received from Eric from VeloxMedia who falsely marked legit chargebacks as "Fraud" in stripe and paypal. Eric from Velox Media public stated this and even marked such chargebacks as fraud. So thats a deceptive business practice and this makes this hosting provider more un-reliable and not-trustworthy anymore.
P.S. Those who are buying new server from Velox Media, for $4/mo and more and paying by PayPal, please check if you'll be able to pay Velox Media's paypal account in coming month or two. Because from what I came to know from fellow customers (who chargeback) is that they've escalated it to higher PayPal support and if PayPal finds that Velox Media has really marked such legit chargebacks as "fraud" then their PayPal account will be terminated. There is no reason for PayPal to allow such fraudlent company to be on their platform.
I think you should be forwarding those onto the LET staff.
