Hostinger caused 50% data loss due to wrong guidance site unstable for weeks no response id 5386178

khan1000khan1000 Member

I want to share my real experience with Hostinger, so others can make an informed decision.

For the past several weeks, my website impixa.com has been unstable:

The site opens normally at first

After 10 minutes to a few hours, it starts showing ERR_CONNECTION_RESET / connection error

This happens again and again, across different browsers, ISPs, IPs, and locations

What Hostinger support did

Instead of investigating their server, Hostinger fully blamed my website.

Based strictly on their instructions, I:

Deleted ~40โ€“50% of my website files and assets

Removed internal security files

Removed background processing logic

Removed custom logic related to limits, cookies, and internal workflows

Disabled IPv6 as advised

All of this caused real and permanent data loss.

Result

๐Ÿ‘‰ The issue was NOT fixed.
This clearly proved the problem was not my website, but their hosting/server instability.

What happened next

When I pushed back and explained that:

The site works temporarily, then fails

The issue is time-based and intermittent, not client-side

Hostinger then:

Created misleading and incorrect cases

Reused old case IDs

Kept saying: โ€œOur complaints/compliance team will email youโ€

They promised a response in 1โ€“3 business days.

Current situation

Over 2 weeks have passed

No email

No written explanation

My website is still broken

I already lost ~50% of my site due to their wrong guidance

I have:

Screenshots with timestamps

Chat history

Sorry to ask but, if you are not satisfied with the service, why you are still with them?

    Issue not fixed
    Host unstable not my site
    Pushed back hard
Told them truth in plain sight

    Site work short then crash
Time based problem not client side
    Hostinger play games
    Old case IDs they tried

    Talk compliance team
    Email promise in days three
    Two weeks gone
No mail no reply to me

    Website still down
    Lost half from wrong advice
    Got receipts
    Screenshots and timestamps precise

    (Outro)
    Chat logs locked
    Truth stays lit

All of this could have been avoided had you copied the data somewhere first. And you don't remove background logics.... You try to disable them to check whether they are the culprit.

This is destructive negligence, not tech support. If a host tells you to delete half your site and security files just to fix a connection error, they are guessing with your livelihood.

An ERR_CONNECTION_RESET that happens intermittently is a massive red flag for server-side issues like misconfigured firewalls or aggressive resource throttling, not a problem with your files. If it were your website code, it would be broken 100% of the time, not just after ten minutes.

    Hostinger
    is
    bad
    web host
    they
    will never
    help you.

try racknerd or namecrane. why go with some dumb company like Hostinger or Ionos? people go with them and enjoy slow servers, un-responsive support and then come to LET to make a thread.

Well hopefully lessons were learned, I guess. Frankly sounds like you need a sysadmin layer between you and the host, even if they gave you ridiculous advice.

the forum owner/admin should launch another forum for such "HighEndTalk" and such high end hosting provider.. B) B)

by the way, @khan1000 , did you go to hostinger after visiting any ads on any social media?

i feel there are plenty of options at LET and mostly all the providers in around here do listen to queries and tickets

I once had an account on Hostinger. I deleted all my files, and threw my computer out the window where it smashed into little pieces. Hostinger destroys their clients' computers! (sarcasm and not a true story)

This is not a proper drama. A good drama has proof, screenshots and a good story behind it. You did not even state what happened.

how did you "lose ~50%" of your site due to hostinger when it was you who deleted it?

Why are you still with your them,
If they don't care about you?

I think the best thing you can do now is move on

LET has many good hosts who actually listen to issues and fix them.

He pressed ^C because rm -rf / was taking too long.

  • ralfralf Member

Do you really need to spam the thread list with exactly the same issue when your whining is already still on the first page?

From what you said, you yourself deleted your own data. Don't feel bad. This is how many people learn the importance of backups.
