Hostbrr/Labze Review after 2 years | 3 services | 9 support tickets

Hello,
First of all, labze/hostbrr does not know I’m writing this review, nor can anyone ever buy my opinion.
I have been using labze/hostbrr for 2 years and finally decided to write a short review after having longer experience.
In Sept 2023, I started off with a backup VPS, something cheap with NAT and 1.5 TB storage (works great, more on that later). I don’t even remember how I got it.
Then I asked for a new service here
and got a crazy good offer from labze, which honestly did save my ass when I was a student.
We (gf and I) have been using the server daily since Nov 2023. I reconfigured it here (it was pain).
As of today, the server runs as a Proxmox VM which is backed up daily. The only issues I had were network-related; back then it was pretty bad, but it got fixed and currently it’s very reliable. I do lose ping once every few days, but it’s a few minutes max.
Great performance, and even though my budget is a bit higher than it was back then, I still want to keep it due to the price/performance. It does all I need! I’m REALLY happy with that server, like REALLY.
In total I have 9 tickets; most get resolved super quickly, usually in less than 1 hour, sometimes longer. I think it’s a one-man band that actually does his job very well, therefore the support is good! The support questions I had were network down, mount ISO, enable SMTP port, and such things.
Labze is also active on the forum and a pretty good guy if you ask me. I mean, he hooked me up really good, that’s worth a plus as well.
Lately I purchased (I asked him directly and got a deal, again…) another VPS for PBS with 3 TB storage, which works great and I don’t have issues. ISO got mounted quickly and all works.
I sadly don’t have any drama or bad experience or anything. The only problem I have with hostbrr is that it’s so good I have more services with them, so if they ever Deadpool, I will lose data (my storage VPS does not matter, it’s one of 3 backups), but my Windows VM (PVE) directly backs up to PBS, which both run on hostbrr.
(I plan on getting that fixed, but after Layer7 talked some sense into my head, I need to figure out a new plan)
Never used mail hosting with labze, but $1/1 TB is gold, and considering I’m happy with 3/3 services, I think it’s a grab. I don’t need it because my rule is 1 storage per company (which I’m breaking by having Duplicati backups on one machine and PBS on another machine…).
Oh, and I think labze is a reseller, so that’s another minus for me. Owning hardware is somehow a checkmark in my head (that’s not really correct) that the company isn’t going anywhere.
Tl;dr: simply great, just don’t put all your eggs in one basket like me (any basket—hostbrr or your own homelab).
I wish hostbrr good business and hope we can continue to work together.
(i have asked chatgpt to clean this mess up, if you want unedited version, let me know)

Not anymore.
I've had Hostbrr VPSes since January 2024, also 2 years. @labze has been nothing but sweetheart.
I really wish those crypto payments could be automated though... 26 of my 28 tickets are about crypto deposits.
didnt know, then even a cherry on top of a very good provider... i just hope the cake does not collapse
@labze is premium provider.
Only reason I am not using (except storage box) is, the speed towards Asia seems a bit slow.
I can't use media server on the storage servers as it buffers A LOT. Meanwhile hostc (Romania) and layer7 (Germany) works with no issues.
That's the ONLY reason I had to stop @labze as a provider.
try this?

The route into the mildest somehow is not good (+30-40 ping, compere to other providers in same location)
@labze Idk if its adjustable?
Good advice! Big benefits to be had by spreading things around (and keeping regular backups).
Thanks for the positive feedback. It is truly appreciated :-)
I am not aware of any ping issues so feel free to open a ticket with some info or logs and we can look into it.
Still don't own the hardware. Use custom configs from Dataforest and IP-Projects, but they own the hardware.
Try and open a ticket and we can check.
They’ll eventually raise prices when the RAM fails and new RAM is expensive.
How long can we keep the $24/year 1TB storage?
Is rug pull planned in the near future?
We are earning billions per hour in the aff system, so that’s good as long as it lasts.
Honestly we won’t mind a price increase, as the server is paid for with the monopoly money from the aff system.
When the price increases (for everyone), the monopoly money gets an inflation, so that it’s still the same.
Wait, you have a girlfriend hanging out around servers with you?
Can’t, she causes servers to overheat.
I also got a cheapie from @labze and still am happy with it. The main reason I didn't and don't buy more from him is that I strongly tend to avoid servers in DE (reason: increasingly Gestapo/censorship).
But if you don't mind having a server in DE (or even specifically want to) HostBrr is a good choice.
any flash deal for good review
Any anys
Afaik, liquid always helps.
Lol, i think i should get it lmao
man of culture
I have a similar experience as well. Although support tickets aren’t replied to very quickly (most likely due to time zone differences), he is generally answered reliably within a day. I’ve enjoyed using their service over the past two years, and I look forward to labze expanding its vps business to other regions
Well said. In fact, during this Black Friday I already purchased a Storage Box service, and it has been very good. I also almost ordered a VPS, but in the end I did not place the order. To be honest, I personally tend to trust providers that operate on their own hardware more, especially when it comes to building services and committing to long-term payments.
