Nice, always good to get home!

    Yeah, with my cats

Are they the type that greet you when you walk through the door (without wanting food)?

I've had this since like 2022 or so, do have additional processes/daemons running on it (configured for a game server) but should be idle (or relatively idle). I'd guess a new VPS would end up getting created on a different node.

Note: the node is stable/has proper uptime but I have a cronjob to update and reboot daily since it's only like 10 seconds to reboot & start everything. I configured it that way because I don't want to deal with manually updating the OS...

hehe, doggo is asleep by my feet dreaming. At least I think she is as she's twitching/pretending to run. I'm totally going to let her sleep for now but I will eventually have to wake her up for the "bedtime" potty. She would be fine until morning but then she will forsure wake me up early and I rather attempt to sleep in and a break tonight will give me more time in the morning :)

Lol, the pretending to run always cracks me up!

it's funny but I love when when they do the little woofs in their sleep, especially when they don't usually bark at all

Exactly! Thats so funny, especially when it comes all of a sudden!. Mine doesn't bark much except for when he notices people around the property.

Yeah, I adopted my current dog in 2021 and she has only barked like a dozen times, mostly towards halloween "scarecrow" type decorations. It's so rare that I forget she knows how to bark and what it sounds like. She's also only growled one time when we were hiking in the black hills and a bear came strolling by fairly close. Like, I totally don't mind her getting aggressive in that situation. Otherwise, she's super friendly and social, honestly, a little too social.

Lol, yes but unless you need a guard dod it's only good if they're very social. Had 2 guard dogs before. Very lovely animals but they'd tear you apart if they didn't know you :)

Anyone in here has RN ams location and cares to share a Yabs?

I've had this since like 2022 or so, do have additional processes/daemons running on it (configured for a game server) but should be idle (or relatively idle). I'd guess a new VPS would end up getting created on a different node.

Note: the node is stable/has proper uptime but I have a cronjob to update and reboot daily since it's only like 10 seconds to reboot & start everything. I configured it that way because I don't want to deal with manually updating the OS...

Thank you! Appreciate you taking the effort. Wanted to see how it holds up against some of my other arms servers.

No problem. Any other RN location you would like? I have several RN servers so it's possible I could run it on them. Though I don't have France or Germany (iirc, that's the other two locations across the pond from me)

Yes! If not too much trouble?! You don't happen to have one in Ireland I suppose? :)

I do not have the Ireland one :( I have thought about it though. Maybe after the whole engagement thing wraps up, I will get it with my prize.

I never did it with dogs as I always had specific wants/needs. Like, had rottweilers before to keep me safe :) Gotta properly train them from birth to make sure they're reliable.

Now it's just the old labrador. Since a lot of kids around usually, must have an easy going dog. I hope he'll stay with us for another couple of years...

Then I'll probably also look into a rescue dog or something. Been thinking about maybe going without a dog but I'd miss the strolls and company I'm afraid.

Final say will probably the kid. She's never been without a dog (got him couple of years before she was born) . They're like, always together so she'd be heartbroken.

Always did have rescue cats though. Always wanted a kitten, never had one as I'm a sucker when visiting a shelter. :)

Just one left now, 23 years of age. Had to put down the other past week unfortunately, was one year younger.

Lol, yes but unless you need a guard dod it's only good if they're very social. Had 2 guard dogs before. Very lovely animals but they'd tear you apart if they didn't know you :)

Yeah, I've have several like that over the years. Most recent was a rescue that they had no history on him but he was obviously was abused by male. Took a little bit for him to see me as his human. Took longer for me to get him used to most other males though some did trigger it in him. I could never figure out what the trigger was though. He did absolutely love women and kids though. Funny is one Christmas, he was hanging out with one of my nieces and I guess she was supposed to be in bed, my bro in law was like "why aren't you in bed" a bit aggressively and he totally switched into guard mode keeping my niece behind him. The dog didn't attack but definitely got more vocal the closer my brother in law got so he kept some distance. I felt bad but my bro inlaw actually didn't mind since he knew the dog's history and knew his daughter was safe with the dog. The next day, the dog was fine with him but he kept a "normal" voice (basically was another confirmation to me that the dog came from an abusive situation).

For a long time, I was a bit annoyed that whenever that dog would hurt itself/be in pain he would always come to me. In my head, I thought he associated pain with me but then I realized he associated me with making that pain go away if it's pulling something out of his mouth or taking him to the vet.

Oh, I'm a sucker too. I can't volunteer or go to shelters as I always want to leave with everyone! It's even worse after I lose a dog as I am one of those that feels like something is missing from life without having a dog.

Lol, yeah sometimes it's hard to figure out what's going on, especially if you don't know it's history. And even then, changing circumstances could change the behaviour.

When my kid was born, the dog didn't allow anyone but me near her for a while, I guess out off instinct.

Took me a lot off training to change it. He's still a bit protective of her though. Like, very good with other dogs but when we take a stroll with my daughter he's definitely on guard, and I mean... It's a 12 y old lab :)

You probably know best and glad you weren't selfish and extended it too long. I know sometimes folks are that way! I know there's been a few I've wanted to be that way but friends or family usually done a reality check with me about it if I start getting selfish about it.

Guess you mean plaster. Sounds like a cool idea. I only have a few photos of my cat.

Mine died from organ failure too, and very suddenly. I'd gone away from saturday morning to sunday evening, and left out loads of food like I normally did in such cases. Came back and she'd not eaten any of it. Thought that might be the end as I know cats start going wrong (especially liver) if they don't eat for more than 48 hours, so I tried to get her to eat some gravy from the food using a syringe into her mouth. She was determined not to swallow anything. Came home from work the next day and looked out the window and saw her in the back garden literally banging her head against the wall, was the saddest thing ever. She came running when I called her, but I could tell she was in pain, so decided then and there that she was going to the vets immediately and probably needed to be put down (she was already 14 ish and had got pretty slow over her last year). The vet examined her and said he thought she already had multiple organ failures, and almost certainly not eating the food was the result of being in pain rather than the cause of the organ failures.

lol, I've had cats over the years that always varied. Like some of them are like dogs and on me the second I walk through the door, some that sometimes would greet me, or some that would only come to me for food/water. I had one cat that refused drinking from any bowl except one specific bowl which was actually a dog one. I always jokes saying that the cat thinks I poisoned the other water and knows I wouldn't do that with the dog  I eventually realized that that bowl was in a "calm corner" but yet could observe most of the house.

    Both very cute

It's very cute when she gets slapped/clawed as she will cry, get a little distance, and will lay down staring at the cat with a sad face. Like my brain thinks she's saying "I just want to love you, why won't you love me?" She's done this sad staring with every cat she's met since none have wanted to be her cuddle buddy yet. She has worked the "bubble" down on this cat for a long time. Originally he would have gone into claw/slapping mode and then would run away if she got within a couple of feet. I hope one day she gets him to truly cuddle! She definitely hasn't given up and keeps pushing the boundries slowly (how she's got to be this close without him freaking out)
