Yeah, I always hope other join in and we get like dozens of folks only replying with hi
not much. had my lunch now.. been breaking my head on how to make VPS use some VPN over WIREGUARD, and simultaneously be a socks proxy (using DANTE).. already 3rd time trying this, finally figured out how to make it keep SSH connection (while setting things up), but for some reason not able to make DANTE work.. adding all required IPs both into wireguard and dante configs, opening all required ports, doing internal/external setup in dante, yet can't connect to the VPS on the port assigned to dante.. any ideas?
no, i don't have Ethernet support for BIOS update. my mobo is MSI B350 Tomahawk (MS-7A34).. i know, i am a big fan of MSI. at least it doesn't need that bridge update. and I did update BIOS in 2020 when bought and installed 64GB RAM. but since then I didn't mess with the insides neither on hardware, nor on software level. as i mentioned in a different post, my combo of hardware seems to be very resistant to overclocking. took me long time painstakingly trying different configs, increasing values 1 by 1, to always experience freezing. this time PC kinda survived, but Firefox started crashing. Chrome went OK, FF would crash after 2-3hrs. I read it's due to different memory allocation/management by the 2. so ended up dropping from 3200 to 2933MHz on RAM.. it's not a big deal, as long as it's now been quite stable.
you can still get the 20 points by entering 2 codes. those are quite easy. and even daily entries are easy enough, just click and forget till tomorrow.. i am planning to win this one, so been getting all the entries. i guess one could go with multiple accounts, but that seems like a chore IMO..
Hehe, I remember specifically buying some RAM once because it was supposed the best for overclocking it and I had to underclock it by 20% just to even get the PC to boot!
Memory speed is all a bit of a massive con anyway though. In truth, the tech in memory isn't actually much faster than 2 decades ago. It really still takes just as long to fetch stuff from memory as it did back then. The bus runs faster, sure, but it takes more wait cycles at the faster speed than before so it's actually basically the same latency. The only difference is throughput / bandwidth is massively more than before, because internally the bus inside the RAM is so wide that an entire page is read at once and clocked out at the higher bus speed.
the issue is that if you don't post before you decide to get gleamed, you'd need to go into your account->comments->click on 1 and then click your signature... or search a post of yours in the thread, which is rather cumbersome. bookmark is so much more effective..
Hahaha, exactly. Kind of nicer to read without so much spam, even if it's a bit more boring too.
Have you tried getting your eyes tested recently? It does sound a lot like the symptoms of eyestrain.
Haha, go dino, go!
I think DP just had enough. Hopefully FAT32 is taking a bit of time off to rest, he sounded completely exhausted the other day.
TBH i am surprised that Christmas (while an old-world tradition, popularized in modern times around the world by USA) is a reason for a megathreads.. is it because in USA people don't much care for NY as a celebration day? is it because LET is run/owned (mostly) by Americans? kinda has me perplexed.. and that is when Christmas simultaneously transforming into XMAS in USA thanks to melting pot of all religions..
Do you ever click them yourself? TBH I think signatures are a bit of a waste of time, and fortunately I mostly manage to completely look past them here.
But for yourself, I find my browser tends to remember URLs you actually type rather than link to, so one time visit it, copy the URL, open a new tab and paste it there. Chances are next time you just need to type the first few letters of the host and it'll offer you exactly what you want as the first drop down.
Yeah, my meeting finished 15 minutes ago. Holiday mode started!
ohai
I don't know anything about Dante. But for wireguard, it might be that your AllowedIPs includes the other side for which you need that IP to not be in the allowed IPs like. I just something like this:
https://www.procustodibus.com/blog/2021/03/wireguard-allowedips-calculator/
https://tim-crisp.github.io/wireguard-allowed-ips-calculator/#{"allowedIps":"0.0.0.0/0","disallowedIps":""}
Maybe that's your problem? For example:
Allowed:
0.0.0.0/0, Disallowed:192.168.0.1produces:0.0.0.0/1, 128.0.0.0/2, 192.0.0.0/9, 192.128.0.0/11, 192.160.0.0/13, 192.168.0.0/32, 192.168.0.2/31, 192.168.0.4/30, 192.168.0.8/29, 192.168.0.16/28, 192.168.0.32/27, 192.168.0.64/26, 192.168.0.128/25, 192.168.1.0/24, 192.168.2.0/23, 192.168.4.0/22, 192.168.8.0/21, 192.168.16.0/20, 192.168.32.0/19, 192.168.64.0/18, 192.168.128.0/17, 192.169.0.0/16, 192.170.0.0/15, 192.172.0.0/14, 192.176.0.0/12, 192.192.0.0/10, 193.0.0.0/8, 194.0.0.0/7, 196.0.0.0/6, 200.0.0.0/5, 208.0.0.0/4, 224.0.0.0/3is it worth me signing up for gleam on a throwaway e-mail address and starting from the beginnning?
I do though since it's not the intense giveaway time, I haven't really clicked on the BF thread link with latest. Maybe a couple of times since after cheaking out comments/replying. Though I do tend to click the others while they're in my signature. Trk's is new this year, normally it's just Mr Ed's link
Any holiday is an excuse for a deals thread! If you pay attention, we usually have deal threads on US independence day, singapore independence day, and a couple of others too. Sometimes it's only 1 or 2 providers, but sometimes they're more organised and FAT32 does a proper mini megathread.
posting/replying to the comment is much easier and then it's right there without even refreshing the page.
At work I was big into bookmarks until they all got wiped and I felt lost. Then I ended up making my own little html page which I eventually created a gitlab pages repo for it once that was enabled. For home, I was also big into it and then I started to get a ton of bookmarks and was just too annoying to keep up with that I dediced to stop using them. Can't even remember the last time I looked at them
Yeah, it ran for a bit too long last year though. Never been that tired
Lol, same, just can't help myself
Also, mess with the font sizes/etc. I was told when I was young to start with small text and slowly increase the font size until I can easily read the screen without straining at all, even go like one size larger than that as too small/big can cause issues.
I think I'll take it slow this weekend
Yeah, not been following that much past week tbh. Just whenever I for tagged. Not sure there were deals much and wanted to save up some to spend on the Christmas thread.
I don't think so, most active people in the threads are not from the USA.
party time!
iaho
Like the greencloud one. Was pretty insane as well !
There's also these special glasses which are easy on the eyes if you're much on a screen. They filter some of the light.
I got them like a couple of years ago, just cos it rests the eyes, don't need it for sight.
