    i'm about to watch s01e06 =)

this is hands down my most favorite (new) show of last couple of years. i was extremely impatiently waiting for Severance season 2, but it kinda disappointed. Halo season 2 was also not so great. but Fallout is not going to be that. It'll be super great. i know it.

I am excited for the rest of the High Potential episodes to drop and the new Rookie season

i'v been researching and thinking over some hardware upgrades.. it seems that if i am not looking for hardcore gaming power, i should do several things:

    1. remove the weaker gtx 1070 video card from my pc and keep only the 2060 super. it supports 4 monitors, and should be able to do my new setup of 3xQHD via 3 Display Ports and 1x4k TV via HDMI cable. some sources say that having both and spreading 4 displays over 2 cards (2 each) is smart, because it gives the stronger card more leeway when playing games and needing that power, while other sources insist that the mere fact that 1 card is so much weaker than the other makes it quite useless.. especially that i am not gaming on more than 1 screen at a time, although it's possible in windowed mode when you stretch window over multiple screens, or that some games support multiple screens, like flight simulators and sich, i simply don't have/play games of that kind.. i could also get a newer video card, which is not my desire right now..
    2. update my MSI Tomahawk 350 mobo BIOS to accept newer CPUs.
    3. buy newer CPU. the better one would be AMD Ryzen 5 with X3D but those seem to expensive right now, since they are not made anymore. So maybe just 5800 or something under $200.

and that's it.. i already have 4x16GB 3200Mhz DDR4, and motherboard while super nice in 2018, currently is still good, but almost on the verge of being not that great.. so maybe, just maybe i should also get me a new Tomahawk MAG B550 or something modest under $150.. i did first buy 450 back in 2018, but ended up having to return it for some reason, but 350 was even more expensive, also don't remember why.. so in just under $200 or maybe near $350 i could really see very big gains.. and i could put my older DDR4 2x8GB dimms back into older PC... or use DDR3 16GB RAM and older Gigabyte mobo to rebuild some older PC, dunno.. i always upgraded, so i have lots of parts left.. and towers.

I've always wanted 1 huge corner desk or a few desks with multiple PCs and not to have to keep my laptop always turned off and stashed to the side, cause there's literally no room for anything in my 10sqm room.. but that will happen when i finally move somewhere.. revive all my old PCs, i just will have to locate them in the basement full of wife's junk... anyway, probably just get new CPU and that'll be enough. and no need for super expensive gaming PC. or less expensive one, like the 1st engagement prize. and in 2-3 years when prices drop again, i can buy something super good for maybe 20% of what i'd pay for today.

and my TV is apparently now that great anymore.. it doesn't support newest 10bit HDR400 HEVC encoding, too much noise and artifacts.. new QHD screen is great fro 10bit, but PC is not always great.. x265 it does well, but like AV1 10bit cartoons are chock full of artifacts which make watching cartoons on big screen a real chore.. technology strides.. and need to keep up.. i been really enjoying 10bit encoding cause it makes 5-10 times less filesize and yet supports better colors and such..

anyways, just clarifying my thoughts on the subject by typing them out..

Have no idea about the GPU thingy. But, since you are already planning to upgrade, maybe keep an eye out for DDR5 RAMs. Some outlets still have the older prices listed from time to time. So, if you are able to grab a lot at good price, then, it will be worth it.
Just my 2 cents, cause you are already planning to upgrade both mobo and cpu. So, I thought if prices are good or you have a way of getting the non-inflated prices, why not just upgrade to AM5 + DDR5, before everything goes crazy in less than 2-3 weeks. Please feel free to ignore.

Honestly, you should probably update the bios anyway since there's usually more things & fixes in them.

anyways, just clarifying my thoughts on the subject by typing them out..

I think most graphics cards for a while have only supported max 3 displays, even if they often have 2xDP and 2xHDMI. If you want 4+ monitors, 2 cards makes sense.

If you're upgrading the CPU anyway, get some that includes a GPU onboard. Doesn't matter how weak the GPU is, the important thing is that it will enable the motherboard back panel display connectors, so you can run 2 displays from the on board and the rest from the GPU. Also, the on-CPU graphics support usually lets you do DP over USB4 if that's something useful to you, which means you can have a USB breakout on the monitor, and support high resolutions with just one cable.

Choose the CPU before choosing a new motherboard. Some of the newer AMD chips are still available in AM4 variants if you want to save money on the board, but bare in mind that both new motherboards and CPUs supporting AM4 will become hard to find in the next couple of years. But if you stay on AM4, you can probably reuse your RAM and motherboard saving a good chunk of cash.

Having multiple GPUs isn't really a big deal nowadays. At least Windows has got quite good at dealing with it, as it's a common option on laptops as the screen is almost always driven off the CPU based GPU and any GPU add on is removable / optional.
