i do have 64GB of DDR4 RAM, i mean... getting DDR5 seems a bit excessive, also will need mobo that supports it.. i think i will probably just do the processor. current living situation and need to save for a move in the near future is not compelling me for a lavish spending on PC components.. even CPU upgrade maybe a bit silly, but I've been noticing recently some stuff is lagging.. dunno.. tried to overclock my CPU and RAM while checking for BIOS settings and such, you know, while actually in BIOS, and after a few hours of rebooting because of the windows freezing, i had to retract overclocking settings, and even ended up at a lower 2933MHz RAM setting, since for some reason 3200MHz (that I had working for me for years) became unstable, maybe back in the day I found some good stable numbers, but this time decided to just give up.. somehow my combo of CPU/RAM/MB is not very easy to overclock.

i am actually planning that next, before i do anything else, since it's free. i did download new AMD chipset drivers and whatever other 5 different positions that were in the chipset update install, simply because that one is easy and can be done via windows installation. but for BIOS update i need a usb stick, which currently was not able to find in my desk drawers.. i think all of them are at my sister's place which i will go to this sunday and collect. since i usually bring her "stuff" and she never gives me back my usb drives..

RackNerd customer service is of course super awesome. it is also constantly propped up when working with other hosting providers. like this one, i will skip naming them, 3 days ago my VPS went down reporting 160% use of allocated storage.. how that is possible i have no idea. in any case, i couldn't bring it online, so reinstalled it, then once again, because it would not boot anymore, VNC would say "auth failed", and there was no way for me to do anything else. so I put up a ticket asking to reset my VPS or whatever they do from their end... so 2 days later i got reply "we will do, which OS you want?" they could just reset it and i would install OS via panel, or they could see in that panel that i use Ubuntu 24. so i replied and stupidly also asked to change IP on this VPS, since when i bought 2 VPS from them, IPs were simply consecutive, so I asked for a different subnet, if possible. and another 24hrs later got reply "which server/IP you want to change?" which again is quite obvious, the IP was listed in the original post, since original purchase somehow named my both VPS with same name/hostname.. and again been waiting and there's no reply.. so i am assuming this admin was just postponing helping me by asking these questions that were obviously unnecessary.. anyways, just kudos to RackNerd customer service..

did a few posts, and voila, hello old friend headache.. i cannot place what actually does it? why? is it maybe dark theme? trying with the bright for now.. is it the nuisance of constantly flickering and changing banners on the right? something here does it to my head. i used to get headaches from too much time on the phone, but figured out it was because i'd end up kinda tilting my head forward too much, so eventually by controlling my posture while browsing stuff on the phone i was able to prevent headaches. what to do to avoid them while partaking in LET threads? trial and error.

Yeah, I'm not saying you need to apply every bios update unless you're having some issues but it's usually good to apply them every now and then as there are fixes in them besides adding new hardware support.
Does your bios allow for "internet" upgrade where you just have to use the motherboard ethernet jack? There also might even be a windows program or lvfs (linux) support so you don't even need a flash drive. Though in my experience with lvfs, not too many vendors publish updates for linux folks, it's usually just windows.

99% of my gleam entries are that way. Just do it the first day and forget about it, maybe get another daily bonus when there's a LEB post about a bonus code.
