I find it funny that I'm hyping dub requests!
Well, that ain't a normal double request you see. If yangyang hits 1000, that would be a dub request that would create history!
We are witnessing history being made
A bit exaggerated i know. But, I wasn't expecting for something like this to happen this year at all
Why does Chrome on Android feel the need to translate a page to English when it's already on english. I checked the page and there were no non-English chars in it
BTW, if you don't have like an air purifier/filter thing, a screen and a fan can also work well for cleaning up the air. In a sense, think of it like the front of your PC case. I actually did that for a while until I found a filter device for cheap. Now, I will just use my duster to blow out the filters a couple of times before I actually change them since I don't really care about the whole HEPA part of it, I mostly only care of capture dust from the air. At least, I personally don't notice a difference between one I dusted/reused and a brand new one.
That's actually a good tip. I don't have an air purifier in the room. Those are pretty expensive here. Teh front does have 3 fans, but, I am guessing they are intake. Nothing else explains the kinda dust that collects on them. I will try to find a filter device maybe cause I do have allergies as well.
Any brand or model you'd recommend for the filter device though?
I also need to redo the thermal paste. But, given the current market, I am really scared to try something I have never done before atleast on a pc
I get that sometimes even in the desktop browser, it's weird. The crazy think is it sometimes even happens on some of my local news (both tv and newspaper) website when it's 100% english.
I don't, really anything with a filter will work and be good. Though a lot of those filters aren't cheap to replace which is why I just use a duster to spray mine out. Then I use the sun or a light to look through it. If I see it's pretty clean, I will use it again otherwise I will replace them. But like I said, I don't care about the HEPA part, the part that would probably help a lot with your allergies. At least I don't care yet, maybe someday I will.
Lol! It's headache on phone though since at times, swiping it doesn't make it go away.
Oh yes, got it. You are right. I might just have to get a HEPA filter. Is prolly the best one for my use case.
Thermal paste is really easy to swap out. As long as it's non-conductive, you don't really have to worry about using too much. I also recall there's been studies of various methods of applying thermal paste and the only real difference was if you used too little, like way too little. Even if you're not covering the whole thing, that was fine. Though the best method is still put it down, push the cooler/heatsink down, lift it up and check the CPU to see if it's mostly covered.
Thanks yet again. Yah, mine's non-conductive, infact the one that cam eby default on Ryzen CPU IHS. Haven't changed in 3 years or so. Might be time to give it a change.
I lack the expertise to use metal based paste and I think it might also eat away at the IHS. Moreover the vertical position isn't the best from what I heard.
My biggest fear with changing thermal paste, due to lack of experience, ofc is if I would damage the pins while pulling the CPU apart, I mean esp. if the thermal paste is dried by now.
BTW, Pudlez, since you are into retro games and such, have you been following the news on the movie Street Fighter to be released in 2026
https://m.imdb.com/title/tt27419420/
oh yeah, though you should never have to force it that hard. If it's that hard, get some floss or fishing line and slowly work the way between the cpu and heatsink. Maybe even let it run for a little bit before you attempt to remove it. I've never had to do that with a PC before, only embedded devices and gaming consoles. Like one of the original xboxes, I did have to do the heat it up thing and then use some floss (could have done just floss but heating it up made it easier) but that did have some thermal adhesive from the factory.
I've heard only a little about it, figured I would check it out more when it's closer to release to see if I want to watch it right away. Admittedly, I'm more excited about the new season of Dexter that should air this coming October (I know, still a ways off but the link to the movie said expected in october)
Oh this gives me PTSD. Years ago, I tried to remove the IHS on my PS3's GPU. It was getting extremely hot and just repasting in the top of IHS didn't work
I tried everything to remove the IHS, heat and fishing line, a thread. After watching a few videos I also tried using a metal scale. In the process I successfully threw a few jumpers and other components off the board. The ps3 has been dead since.
I guess that's mostly where my fear of changing thermal paste comes from
Oh yeah, i believe Cam from Modern Family is there as well. I wanted to watch it as well. But, have been holding off due to probable NFSW scenes as I have to watch it on the living room tv
And yah only after all that did I realise that the IHS on the PS3 had thermal adhesive not paste on the underside.
Inam mostly excited due to the casting, especially a favourite Indian actor to play Dhalsim
The dude's a great actor and a greater martial artist. Kinda like the Tony Jaa or Scott Adkins of India.
Oh, I don't recommend removing the IHS on top of the CPU, just the cooler on top of the IHS and regular heatsink. Really, unless a chip is super old or you're doing some insane overclocking & cooling, shouldn't need to remove the IHS.
For devices without an IHS and have the die directly exposed, PTM7950 does a great job and you basically will never have to replace it within the lifetime of the device (unless you remove the heatsink). It doesn't shine as much in desktop like it does with laptops or smaller embedded like devices. Like with my steamdeck, it lowered it by several degrees. My pi500 (only passive cooling), overloacking it to 3.2Ghz and running at 100% for 15 minutes, it lowered it by about 10C and it cooled down pretty fast after the stress was over. Though PTM7950 is not cheap compared to regular paste.
he is and yeah, there's several "NSFW" scenes and convo in it.
If anyone's interested, here is a clip from the Dhalsim actor's indian movie from a few years with some of his martial arts moves and such
Oh, I see. Yah, I ended up trying to remove the IHS on trh PS3 after changing the thermal paste didn't stop the overheating warning. People on forums told me the IHS will have to removed and repasted. In hindsight that was foolish of me to even try.
Yah, I have seen many Youtube repair guys like Salemtechsperts (greatest technician) use ptm 7950. Is it more expensive than thermogrizzly or arcitx mx-4?
Yah, I guess the trailer itself revealed the true nature of the character of what Cam is in the series. But, still didn't wanna spoil it if you didn't know.
Definitely a great chance for the man to show his range
I mean Cam from Modern Family is the extreme opposite of what he plays in Dexter.
BTW Pudlez, do you think we can hype for a giveaway or something. Been a few days since Dustin's done the bandwidth requests though
