New control panel deployed in production: https://panel.mxroute.com

Service welcome email now refers to DA as the legacy panel, but still gives a link to it. The docs.mxroute.com page has not yet been rewritten for this change. Consider this the production test, next phase is to stop giving out the DA URL and update docs. Everything has been tested by a fair number of users, as well as myself, and it has all passed security audit.

We still need to create a reseller panel and a cPanel translation layer for legacy customers. However, features that were limited to some servers due to fragmentation of the platform have now been successfully glossed over, and are no longer applicable. For example, now all users on DA servers can enable/disable Expert Spam Filtering.

On my Android and PC browsers, for some reason, every time I move to a page, I sometimes log out and go back to the login page.

You don't have cookies blocked by chance do you?

haven't had time to check it yet, but if you log in using a VPN, it works fine.

  • is there any monthly package so i can test it before use? i never use any mail service except big giant like Tmail,Gotmail, eahoo 😬

Not currently. Those were all spammer bait, and caused people to order too quickly without thinking which resulted in higher chargeback/refund rates. A higher entry price seems to do better at targeting people who actually want to be here.

Spend $15 on the cheap package and if you don't like it in a month just pretend it was monthly and forget about it.

  • @jar Just ordered a new package, got fusion. Your new panel lists london as well, which I was unaware of. Can one get moved there?

You don't want to be there. It's stable but it's an older build and needs a hardware replacement. It's not actually in London anymore either. Only a handful of users left on it.

The reseller panel is complete at https://panel.mxroute.com. If you login with a reseller you can:

    • Manage users (add/edit/delete/impersonate)
    • Manage packages (add/edit/delete)
    • Manage branding (style, panel name, custom URL, custom support/docs links)

    Feel free to test these.

At least the test cases were. I'm expecting to find a few minor bugs.

@jar just to let you know that I've added a new domain in panel.mxroute.com and ssl for the domain wasn't available (unable to select). I went to DA and saw a msg saying "SSL is disabled for this domain". I then clicked in "Enable SSL for domain" and after that, I was able to generate ssl in the new panel... eventually some tweak needed or some mistake from my side

Edit: went gray again after a refresh, need to generate the SSL in DA

By the end of December I expect for MXroute to be a full, feature complete, email service that matches the expectations of normal end users. We're going to pivot marketing strategy, by that I mean actually having one, and there may well be price increases (ONLY for new orders, NEVER for existing services) by January.

What software stack we use behind the scenes will no longer be relevant to end users. It'll be admin problems or development hurdles, but not the end user"s concern.

This means we'll have a fully fluid experience from ordering to managing service. Every part of the user experience will be perfectly curated to fit the needs of the vast majority of MXroute users. This means working calendar and contact sync, a billing experience that makes sense, everything. I promised a golden age for MXroute in 2025 and like the 20 year old college student I still see in the mirror (my eyes aren't what they used to be), it'll be done like every college paper I wrote: right before the deadline.

I appreciate how supportive so many of you have been for what is now a fair bit over a decade. Here's to another. Keep an eye on blog.mxroute.com where ChatGPT will announce the upgrades.

Just In time to steal all the attention for the years provider awards.

Good luck with the transition. Big undertaking but I’m sure it’ll really expand your potential user base to all those people that would find Direct Admin too much. Im sure it’ll be a busy year again in 2026 with this happening, hope it goes smoothly for you.

I can make it stick. Good idea. I honestly didn't think anyone would like the light theme, dark mode is so popular these days :joy:

I can look into it. I probably have to extend the session length with DA. Initially I had 3 hours set and then realized after 60 minutes the panel was blank

  • In the reseller panel, looks like we can suspend account but cannot unsuspend. Other than that, everything looks perfect.

It's amazing how many things I thought of that no one really would, and how many things I didn't think of that everyone else would.

If I can wish for a single feature it would be addy.io / simplelogin.com style e-mail aliases. Preview UX looks great - hope to see it soon.

So one thing that I'm looking to do is create an API abstraction layer that meets the requirements of basic browser security settings, and then I'll create a browser addon that can generate aliases for you on the fly when registering for websites.

Please dont forget about this, only thing missing for me right now.
Currently using catch all, but this would be nicer! :)

I’m a fan of having themes align to “system” and changing dynamically based on the browser being in dark or light mode. Although I also have a browser extension to force that since most sites don’t implement it.

Definitely. But I'm not quite certain how I want to implement it yet. I like the way DA isolates it but I want to roll my own implementation. I also want to solve the weird bad folder subscription problem that causes a lot of tickets that require manual intervention.

Just not really into it these days. Effort to benefit ratio is too low on the latter.

It's me and AI. That's why we're using PHP as it's something I intimately understand in terms of how it gets exploited, etc. Fast turnaround with easy audits.

Unfortunately those words require secondary words:

I do not want this to come across as an endorsement of the "vibe coding" trend for production. I want to be clear. Vibe coding is fun for prototyping. Never put AI generated code in production unless you are intimately familiar with the language and all of the known ways that vulnerabilities can pop up. It is best used as a tool to speed up work you are capable of, not as a replacement for what you are incapable of. Anything less than that is what we call "vibe coding" and it's basically the process of exposing your private data with extra steps.
