How is their WHOIS privacy lacking?
Does that apply to .de registrations as well or mainly .com?
WHOIS data is considered private data per GDPR but not proxied like spaceship. Info like country code are public for individual accounts. They are also a resellers and more expensive than most registrars except for: de, ch, at, eu, biz, com, org and net only as part of the included domains in the hosting plans not if they are bought separately.
What about
.dedomains from netcup?I use desec.io for dns. It's very good.
It’s a ccTLD so things with WHOIS data is different and it is more private by default. They are the cheapest provider for .de domains especially with the hosting plans.
New flash sale: VPS 1000 G12 Pro with 512 GB NVMe
Guys, am I right that netsted virtualization is disabled on nectup vps?
Does anyone know if it can be enabled via a ticket or not?
@fohadeel do you work for netcup?
you will need to pay per core to get them enabled in ticket!

Could someone explain what a 3-month contract means? Given it's 5.75 eur monthly, do I have to pay 5.75 eur monthly for 3 month or 17.25 eur every 3 months?
Accounting period is 3 months in advance. So you have to pay every 3 months, and you can cancel every 3 months as well.
Yabs of VPS 1000 G12 Pro (Not really different from previous gen IMO) :
At netcup, you always need to look at both Minimum contract period and Billing period
In the case of that product, both of these periods are 3 months
Multi Core | 5434
shit like this is why i moved to bero host. i pay 4 euros extra for 16GB more ram and 2 more cores
Bero is
I’m looking at both and I’m confused here, aren’t bero packages shared CPUs vs dedicated here? Are the cpu scores in the yabs really that bad?
I don't think that you're missing anything
As you probably know, some (many?) users here seem to be obsessed with GB scores
Indeed, those GB scores aren't bad
BF deal? It's not fair comparison because regular price at Berohost for 4C8G250G is around 26 EUR and 39 EUR for 500G disk. At netcup you can get these deals several times per year and their regular offers are still competitive.
In terms of computation, what netcup is offering = 60% of what Bero offers.
So let's say I need to do do a heavy computation such as AI transcribing or transcoding, then I can match the whole dedicated core cpu of netcup by allowing just 60% of what Bero cpu.
.... But Bero also allows a few hours of bursting to full usage of 100% without putting limitations.
So what I can achieve in netcup in llets say 8-9 hours, the same task I can do it in Bero in roughly 4.5 - 5 hours.
The more work you have, the difference becomes bigger and bigger.
Value of dedicated core is meaningless until you take performance of shared cores in to account.
Is berohost better than netcup?
Depends on your requirements.
For projects not requiring heavy computation but more bandwith, netcup is the way to go.
For raw power while staying in vps territory.and not much bandwidth requirement, then Bero
Hmm, tbh netcup also offered a 6 core cpu option with comparable cost during BF deals but bero seems to have a lot more ram.
Ya know what, I’m just gonna replace my old stuff with these two and try both. Both seem pretty solid to me but for different reasons. Thanks to you and angstrom for the feedback.
Not just bad. Netcup has degraded over the months and it once used to be 6k under the load and has went as bad as 4.5k under idle(including noticable performance dip in both CPU and IO). When I contacted their support asking what is going on, they said that the performance was within expected range AFTER making me go through their rescue mode BS and running yabs 10 times and some other bs benchmark.
While on the other hand with Bero, I once had performance dip from 8.5k GB6 to 7.1K with visible increase in CPU steal in my Grafana, I asked via their support about this and a few back and forth later(took a total of 2 days), they moved me to a different node where performance fully restored(9k+, 4C).
This is the stark difference why Bero is better than Netcup.
If the bar is that low, that it indeed is very good.
Not just score, real, visible, real world performance being impacted even after paying 8.75 euros a month.

RS 1000 G12 Ultra is available again, +50% cores, +50% RAM, +100% storage, +28% price
Apart from geekbench, have you actually noticed any slowdowns for tasks being run on the server?
Yes. Jellyfin ocassional single streaming transcoding where cpu steal would max at 0.6% at first few months vs 8-9% over last months before i cancelled and somehow this is "within performance parameter". Stream being slow.
Wordpress website with like 6 plugins(nothing heavy, no woocommerce bullshit) taking forever to load.
IO speed significantly varying to the point I had to disable the default swap(or something like 2GB i may have manually set?).
network inconsistency with their pings all over the place.(Austria region. this was a bit after the euro-asia cable cut was fixed), ipv6 latency being 259ms vs ipv4 being 170ms.
network to asia varying too much for comfort.
The same doesnt happen with bero?
Is there any likelihood one of the daily promos will be for the discounted approximately €1 monthly VPS (annually billed/contracted)?
for what? they are both stable.
Performance wise, Bero had better deals, specially yearlies.
