Started watching MI Final reckoning, the first hour was meh and kinda dull. You'd expect the last installation in such a successful franchise to go out with a bang, but, doesn't seem to be building up to anything fantastic. Too soon to judge anyways.

yeah, i loved it when he was diving there in cold.. hehe... it's ridiculous.. but action is action. they gotta keep coming up with new ways to amaze..

i think they got money to spend.. i will wait out a year or two. yeah, my PC is showing signs of old timer slowness, but i am not ready to dish out thousands on what will cost half that in a year or two.

the beauty of english language.. or the lameness of whoever wrote this description..

    The Last Frontier 2025

    Action, Drama, Thriller score 6.8/10
Follows Frank Remnick, a U.S. Marshal in charge of the quiet and weathered barrens of Alaska, as he needs to deal with a prison transport plane crash full of violent inmates inside his jurisdiction.

was the crash full of violent inmates? was he full (of violent inmates)? were inmates from his jurisdiction? very much open to interpretation..

I have watched Triple Frontier though, with Pedro Pascal, Ben Affleck, Oscar Isaac (Moon Knight fans, make some noise), Charlie Hunnam . Some of my most favourite actors, the movie as a whole though was meh.

    haven't seen that one

Actually maybe a one-time watch worthy. Nothing special.

then i will just leave it skipped, as i already did skip it. i read the quick description, if it sounds good, - i go for it. most likely..

    Yah, good choice.

But yeah, could mount an image and it should work.

this is the part i am unfamiliar with..

Does the provider's faq or any other document provide details about the steps to mount iso drive?

nope.. one of those 6-article knowledge bases..

And upon contacting them, what do they have to say when requesting details about mounting a custom iso?

    waiting to get a reply..

It's been more than 3 days now right?

no i got reply last night saying "mount an iso as a quick workaround" which didn't tell me much, thus all my questions here, since i know many of you guys are linux pros..

Do they just expect you to study and understand their infrastructure and then figure out how to mount an iso on their hardware that you dont have full access to??? That's just odd and a useless response more than being vague which I previously mentioned. It's like shifting blame to the customer for the provider's lack of proper planning.

i guess it's assumed that anyone getting LET BF offer knows their way around Linux and ISOs and such..

But that still doesn't explain how you are supposed to mount an iso if the provider doesn't give you the tools to do that. This is interesting though. BTW, can you tell me what you get when you boot the VPS. Is there any lightweight distro or something already running there?

just debian 13. i think rescue is available too.. can't recall now, no menu option is available now, everything complains that it cannot be accessed while server is performing a task..

What are you actually trying to do?

If he hasn't yet answered, he is trying to run Ubuntu 24 to install and setup dante-server on a VPS that has Debian running currently. They don't have Ubuntu yet, so, he has been asked to add Ubuntu ISO on his own. But, the provider hasn't provided any specific instructions on how to add the ISO and boot from it, since the managing panel or dashboard on the provider doesn't seem to have such an option.

This might be a very foolish suggestion. But, would it be possible to download and bott off an ISO using the grub commandline?

maybe.. i am yet to try all the advice i received.. server is still performing task.. still inaccessible.

Yah, but given the crazy stuff that tom cruise usually does for his movies, this is beginning to sound like a major letdown

A single picture can't explain what pain is, right? What about this one?

Has anyone gotten this before? I check the CPU placement atleast 5 times from all angles with direct light from all sides, before I close the CPU lid on the motherboard. In the current market, such a mistake would be extremely costly.

oh yeah.. a few bent ones, and you're fcuked. it is so hard to straighten those.. like it was made to go wrong at any mishandling..

Dude, at this point, it'd be safe to say this is unacceptable. How many days has it been stuck at the same performing task status?

Some of those pins are trivial and might not affect the performance in any major way, but, if you mess up one of those rimporrant pins, for most average customers, it's game over.
