2025 Black Friday / Cyber Monday: FLASH SALE & MEGATHREAD - "The Trade War"
This discussion has been closed.

Throughout Black Friday I thought they only accepted pounds.
I don’t want to say that I’m righteous, but if it were in NL I would have thought about it.
Here is just one of VeloxMedia's emails to me on this. I have redacted name/transaction detail in part [ ] only.
This receipt alone would make me a winner in any English-baed legal system's court.
The apologists saying the merchant is not responsible because their chosen POS system screwed up (as they allege) are wrong.
I had never seen a multiple VPS offering, let alone clicked through to purchase one while others were also hitting the same system at that time for live sale promos.
I suppose providers argue that the system works when they get your money, even if they didn't disclose something accurately or clearly, but when you get the better of them (imagine that, a 50% discount on the last deal of Black Friday!) they get to claim technical error, always made by someone other than themselves. How about not offering a self-propagating multi-server offer if it is subject to failures in normal use?
And those who are telling us to touch some grass, I can assure you I have spent way less time on LET this BF week than most, searching for the same $5/$7 underpowered VPS deals of last year.

My Touhou senses are tingling
Could you give root pass and ssh keys also?
You can just look at the entire list.

@FAT32
If the provider screws up (beginner's mistake), do I have the right to take advantage of it (only me)?
Or
Dm?
@225thinker just first take a deep breath and relax a bit, such things happen.
Personally I think you most likely didn't do anything sneaky or on purpose from your side - since I was also able to end up with it showing 10 pounds, quite by accident... (something was weird and it showed quantity 2, which I thought I maybe made a mistake by adding twice, so I changed it to 1... and I don't even remember what all)
... and somehow then it showed 10 pounds on my side as well.
But the difference is, I immediately assumed it was a glitch/error and not intended to be the price, so didn't go ahead in buying it, but I kept the tab open to maybe ask here about it later. (it wasn't that important to me, I already have way too many 1GB idlers)
And you can also believe that @VeloxMedia / @itsTomHarper is not trying to scam your or anyone else or trying to steal anyone's money... weird things happen sometimes without anyone intending harm.
I suspect there could be a lot lost in translation and difference in culture.
If a glitch / error occurred then it is seen as perfectly fine if they just refund you (or whoever it happened to), that is normal... it's not trying to scam anyone and nobody had any bad intentions.
I assume you are maybe use to "customer is always right even if there was a glitch" - but that's not how it works in such cases in most other places.
Everyone is tired after a long BF/CM event and if this is your first year here, then it's understandable that things are new to you.
tl;dr just relax, and believe that nobody tried to scam anyone, everyone is human, weird glitches and mistakes happen by accident, and in the end we're still all alive and healthy
Dunno what drama is happening but if they don't take any of their plan send to me I'll pay their invoices. LMAO

Goood moarning LET
Popcorn 🍿 anyone?
hello I'm still looking for a VPS in Fremont California can anyone recommend any providers?

Sir you need to touch some grass - totally not @emgh
question now is: why would i need a vps in poland
and what do i even do with 16gb im used to 256mb
Cock deals when? cAN ThNk PLEasE YoU sIR!?
Then I wouldn't be able to touch @FAT32 -sama
@ZA_capetown I would have agreed with everything you said before the leaking of personal details. Both went a bit too far and it could have been solved without any drama.
But as a provider you seriously need to have higher standards than to accidentaly leak personal details in several screenshots that you post for everyone to see.
I made fun of Velox before all of this because I could smell they’d easily do something like this from a mile away and I know many other active users did too. We need to raise our standards because this ain’t it chief.
Mentally we're related though. Both gay.
A hostsailor connoisseur I see.
it had the 90% off coupon the déjà vu was too strong to resist
Wait... @emgh being serious. Shit getting real. What the F? Can't I leave you boys alone for a night!
I FULLY SUPPORT @emgh
(Yes, it's at the end of billing period which is still few months), but PII/PI matters.
I appreciate your approach. I must say however that it's not my first LET BF.
This BF week I had another provider "renege" on an accepted coupon, saying they ran out before my order got accepted, and I happily accepted that explanation -- I think I privately wrote the words to him "I am not trying to get something for nothing" -- and it was easy to be gracious because he accepted the blame for the problems with the vaunted WHCMS system.
He did not start off by accusing me of some intentional technical wizardry to perpetrate a $13 fraud on him.
This guy @itsTomHarper did. The providers all create this fun event where we have to buy within seconds before most deals run out, many times without even being able to read the details (that's how I ended up with an IPv6 only deal this week!) and then we customers get accused of leisurely manipulating their lousy tech systems provided by others (no blame on the host) just to save a few bucks (50% off!).
Wow, I almost "scammed" 3 underpowered "$5 servers" today!
I'm still using a not-underpowered $6 server I got last year during BF from a Netherlands host.
But some here say I should have known it was an error?
As far as being doxxed, well, not sure what to say. That's a little more serious I guess. I'll have to take a look into it. This guy just isn't ready for prime time. Buyer beware.
I guess he wishes I were just a bot.
I sleep and shit hits the fan 😭 ffs let me sleep peacefully.
Oh dear! I missed that part of the drama and don't even know about any personal detail leaking... I'm a bit slow and tired, I still have to scroll up again and try to catch up on all
Either way, taking deep breaths is more often useful than not!
If both gay does that make us straight when we pair up? Life is so confusing.....
Dont mind me...
If anyone's still hunting for a $99/yr dedi deal, I've got one for transfer here
:
