But, the current ones can't beat the classics. WIsh Gen-z understood that.

Wasn't there a Poo horror movie released recently?

When? I haven't heard about it.

Interesting. Has a 2.9 on IMDB. Guess it was a lousy attempt. Have you seen it BTW?

Nah, haven't seen it. Could be fun like. Ever watched Sharknato ? It's soooooo bad .... Yet fun in a twisted kind of way.

No, I haven't. Infact I am hearing of it for the first time too. And yes, I have come to realise that IMDB rating isn't the best indicator all the time. I sometimes have loved watching movies that have less than 2.0 rating on IMDB

Back in the day one of my roommates worked in a Videostore. She let us rent movies for free. Watched so much crap at the time :)

Oh, video stores. The good old days. I wish netflix didn't completely kill them.

Yeah, Good old days, like music cassettes and CDs. When you made a copy of a computer game at a friend's place and needed a whole stack of diskettes lol

Ooh nostalgia. Our schools had strict policies against students bringing disks to schools. It was an action adventure of our own bringing and exchanging discs with friends while hiding them from our teachers, escaping any random raids. Ooooh the thrill, still gets my heart beating fast

They weren't that tech savvy at my school so we got away with pulling a lot of shit

Ment to say VPN but editing doesn't work for some reason.

Oh got it. I was just curious. I mean I only joined LET a few years ago and am slowly getting into VPSes and everything at my pace. So, I do get curious when I see stuff like that that makes no sense to me. I am slowly learning the ropes though. Hope you don't mind the noobie questions. Pardon me.

No sure, no problem. Totally get it. There's also people using it to collect networking stats and whatnot, but yeah niche.

When I started dabbing with VPS, usually just stuck to NL/us/SG as it makes most sense. You get decent connectivity in most of the world.

Thank you. I am personally waiting for RackNerd to launch SG VPS so that I can have something closer to home.

Yes that would be nice. If you're looking for APAC region follow greencloud closely. Their usual prices ain't that bad but when you get a promo you really get a lot of bang for your buck.

Thanks for that, sara. But, was kinda looking to sticking with RackNerd for now. But, will closely monitor other offers as well. RN's LA does work very good for me. Moreover, their Frankfurt shared hosting is also working really well for a client's India-facing website.

I think I'll be getting an LA server next from them. Whenever they drop an offer I'm on it. Hearing good things about that location.

Yah, sh97 did say the DC03 there has good peering for Indian ISPs. So, I will be looking forward to getting one by next year for upcoming projects as well.

Good to know. I have some backup storage servers in India so that might make a good hub.

Yup. Maybe we could all join in next year for the Chef's session.
I am planning to request Dustin to bring the Chef for 2 days instead of 2 maybe next year.

Who knows, it's getting harder for me each year. I think last year's Megathreads drained me. They lasted forever!

Yah, I have heard of many buildings in Europe skiiping 13th floor altogether, I mean naming them. Elevators go to 14 after 12.

But when you're on the 14th floor, you're not actually on the 14th...

Yah, that's right. I always thought it was a European thing, but, turns out, Chicago has it as well, as bchot said.

In some counties they skip the number 13 on the floor plan. So you from 12 to 14.

    country-wide superstitions.. nice

well, Chicago itself (by population) is bigger than many a mid-small to small sized country/./ there are roughly 195 countries in the world and Chicago is bigger than 75 of them, although i doubt many of those countries build highrises big enough to skip 13th floor..

  • Well I went ahead and grabbed a second VPS to go with the 8GB as the 6GB deal is great too. Please also double the bandwidth for Order Number: 6432380953

Also, in case you missed it I did post earlier on the previous order but please double the bandwidth for Order Number: 1086344647

Disregard the 2nd item above (xx4647) if you just hadn't gotten around to it yet.

    Thanks so much!

I am going to be stepping away for a little bit. I need to go outside again and shovel/clear the additional snow we got over night. Guess the National Weather Service says my area got between 5.1 and 6.5 (they don't have a dot near me but between the various dots, they're all between that). From our walk this morning, I'd guess we got about 6

Are these values like mm of snowfall or something?

inches. My brain doesn't think meters as I was only taught imperial growing up. I also don't know C though I can do a rought estimate in my head converting. I googled, it's like 152.4mm.

I do use 24hr time though. Growing up, my grandpa always used it so I switch to it to "learn" it and then it kind of just stuck with me. It's funny, I used to have to convert 24hr to 12hr (AM/PM) to understand what time, now it's the opposite

    easy C = (F-35)/2
    so roughly -35C = -35F

inches to feet to yards to miles i learned with time. yard is about a meter. pound is about half kilogram. mile is 1.6km. foot is roughly 1/3 of meter. inch is 2.5cm. normally no need to convert exact (got google for that), just easy numbers

    What's for dinner?

Had lasagna. Taking it easy on Sundays.

i had 12 radishes as a salad with a bit of sour cream and garlic, half cup of barley cooked to perfection and like half kg of guacamole with "healthy"-ish corn chips, plus banana and yogurt. i never take it easy with food, fill up as much as i can. although usually breakfast is either 6 eggs with fruit or protein shake. due to many recent stupid injuries i cannot workout right, and today would be shake, so i didn't do eggs, since it's "breakfast" now for me, but did vegetables and grains.. =) took a while though to prepare everything..

Wow, that's quite the meal. And breakfast. I'm not a breakfast person, too early for me to eat but force myself to do so as it's healthy. Usually couple of eggs and some bread. Or yoghurt and some fruits.

When I can sleep in, I do like a big breakfast though and don't really mind spending some time to prepare.

i do intermittent fasting. i wake at 6:40 and only eat 11:30-12:00, cause my window to eat is that until 7pm. so normally by the time i eat 1st meal, i am ridiculously hungry and can put away alot. if i go buffet - i eat my moneys worth and then some.. my sister eats a lot too, she is like 55kg.. 1 time we went to eat unlimited sushi. we were asked to leave before we were ready.. lol.. for lunch time too (mmy breakfast)

but before when i ate when woke, i also couldn't eat much, 3 eggs tops. never more, never anything with.. and most of the time wouldn't be hungry at all..

    Thanked by 1Saragoldfarb
  • intermittent fasting changed my life, plus working out a lot when i can. i wake up always 80kg (well, after bm) and i put away literally kilograms of food for dinner.. mostly vegetables though, so it's not that bad, veg = mostly water.

  • now is tea time with added honey + a sugar-free brownie .. =)

brownie is twice as good since it's free. ordered from amazon, on first i ate almost broke teeth on some very hard piece of something, so returned it, they refunded and told to keep the rest.. i am very careful though. eating slowly, using tongue instead of teeth..

me too, and i didn't even partake that much.. too many dicks, too many memes, too much back and forth between good friends that i have no idea about what it means.. so now i just check the front page deal index or when it's time - check last page for the new deal.. not that i will make it on time to get the deal, - haven't so far, always others buy up before i can get a good deal for myself, even if i am a customer of the provider already.. it all sounds great on paper, but in reality normal person can't compete there.

i didn't mean you, of course. meant some people here that directly mention how they dislike too much talking.. i wish it was indirectly, i can work with that, laugh it off or something..

  • BTW megathread is about to overtake this thread by views, although they are still 10 pages short by comments.

  • i complained and now was able to get the AU for 9EUR but it's still available, so i guess nobody wants it..
