Confused what youre looking for, ping affects overall throughput.
Raw hardware power affects the transcode itself. Are you hoping to transcode a 4k video purely on cpu power?

yes that must be douable allbei it for some streams not many like max 2

That's.... a really big question aha. It depends on way more than just 4k.
Rule of thumb I'd say no it won't be able to do it, even a moderate level iGPU transcode will or 1 or 2 4k transcodes.
Why are you transcoding 4k anyway just source your "iso"s in your actual wanted resolution where you can direct play it.

    # serious I think dude wants to run Plex but has zero clue about what it is or how it works

Transcode is a scam. I only watch in 4K :p

We shall see good I have 7 day money bank guarantee

If you need a GPU to assist, that chassis can fit one, not sure what your goals/budget are. But get a baseline and I can throw in an older 2080 super or something if it's subobtimal, you can see how that changes performance/price, and worst case we do a refund :)

is it also possible for one-time upgrade in GPU?

So been curious and since we have a pretty broad representation here. Is Black Friday where people live a one day event or is it like here in Australia where it looks like it’s pretty consistently a one week event minimum, but very often 3 or 4 weeks, which then immediately turns into pre-Christmas sales.

Back a few years ago BF wasnt a big a thing at AU retail so I’d see a lot of subscription based things over the three days from US companies, but physical retail wasn’t as likely to partake. As retailers have embraced it it’s also seemingly extended to the whole month.

Maybe it’s just me, but that’s my observation from Australia.

Likewise feel like Halloween has become a much bigger thing here. 15 years ago I would t get a single trick-or-treator. This year we estimate we got over 200 kids based on what we handed out.

Unsure if this is an AU thing or more globally.

Retail wise I think they all try to out-do each other to get the lion's share of sales, start your sales a day earlier and all those cashed up consumers are more likely to buy now rather than waiting.
Definitely noticed it with work, won't say for where but we deal with a lot of businesses and it's getting earlier and earlier each year.

    Thanked by 2Smigit Ramsterdam

Yeah makes sense. I popped into an outlet mall on the Friday and it wasn’t really that busy. Asked the staff and they said given the sales had been running all week that there was less demand by the Friday. That said, there was an additional 1 day sale in some of the retailers that were pretty decent.

Happens in pretty much all countries these days and it lasts for weeks. Black Friday used to be a big thing back in the days, nowadays not so much. You usually have few very limited great deals and that's it, you find better prices during the year for most products, especially during the summer.

No because of power draw, CPU/GPU is never available for one time upgrade to keep things somewhat sustainable.

It's kinda great to be honest, not this insane rush of panic buying last minute.
You have time to shop around, compare places, have a think if it's something you really want/need. It's a bit of a double edged sword, you beat your competition but also remove that "pressure" from the consumer.
Plus I don't know if retail has really recovered here in Aus from covid, don't get me wrong still plenty of people going to the shops. But I think it really helped kick start the eCommerce side of things for a lot of businesses.

@PulsedMedia Did you have some Seedbox deals?

many and our site has running deals: https://pulsedmedia.com/specials.php

Wait, the M10G L on the special page is way better that the 8T deal you posted for just a few euros more right ?

I will get more dedicated RAM and redundant storage.. possible to switch ? and pay the difference ?

non-recurring one time discount on the M10G Seedboxes.

You have to refund the earlier and then buy that one. You will loose some bonus disk quota from refunds: https://wiki.pulsedmedia.com/index.php/Pulsed_Media_Free_Bonus_Disk_Policy

Ah, yeah, the recurring is worth more to me, since this is just for storage. -- thanks for explaining!

Yeah same, I did not read that far about the recurring, thank you for the explanation.
    Seems Fair to me

    @PulsedMedia

So the recurring is 97.77€ right ?
I see something else on my dashboard.

    First Payment Amount
    97.77€
    Recurring Amount
    159.49€

    Thank you for your time,

I missed the $99/yr :disappointed:, don't suppose you'd have anything kicking around you could do for a bit more? Maybe some old hardware that's not really part of the usual line up that you'd like to put back in rotation?
I need to scratch this 'deals' itch that hasn't been satisfied this year and I'll feel a lot better canceling other stuff if I "plan" to move things

Once the dust clears with the current queue tomorrow I'm going to take a deep dive and see what we got. I think I have some capacity in multinode hosts that run dual e5, some v2 with a ton of ram, and some v3/v4. I have some E3's for suuuuure, but theyre buried in climate controlled storage.

^--- Customer service done right folks

Yep. Why I’m bummed I missed it!

Don't sue us bro, ok? This is what the LLM gave us, and apart from asking to focus on > Pulsed Media, or specific segments did the best to limit bias. But being a human, i am biased AF, so take a truckload of salt with anything posted from this.

No because of power draw, CPU/GPU is never available for one time upgrade to keep things somewhat sustainable.

I just want the GPU lmao.
(Would have gotten a dedi even though I don't need one just because of the price if it wasn't US)

The world is becoming increasingly Americanized. And has been getting more and more ever since 1945 until today.

More like retailers love sales and will use any reason to extend them. So it becomes one month Halloween, one month Black Friday, one month Christmas and so on.

Thanks, and is it possible to release more $11.99/yr RYZEN-1 Plan :D

And also how much for the one-time HDD upgrade?
