  sometimes i think about what would be if i had children though.. my wife has lupus and kidney transplant, taking a dozen different anti-rejection pills, so it's always been out of the question. but ever so rarely i do think about it..

  Was told when was younger, couldn't have kids. Went through all treatments, miscarriage and what not.

  Basically gave up, spent last savings on another IVF treatment, then it happened.

  Love the kid to death but must say all history getting there definitely left me with some emotional trauma.

  So, I can relate to your story.

  But you know... Gotta be at peace with the cards you're being delt with. It can be hard, but you know.... It's the only way to survive.

  Yeah - was expecting the 2.5GB to come in around $20-23, in line with previous years. Unexpected to see the ~25% reduction given hardware prices unless they managed to pack a lot more VPSes onto the same hypervisor...

  I'm guessing it's not Turin or Milan, mainly wondering if they're off the Xeon E5-2xxx that I recall seeing on the Seattle node.

  yeah that sucked, but you got on top of it, even with the "final attempt".. kudos for sticking to it. i am hoping my sister goes thru with it.. but she has endometriosis which is also dangerous for her and outright for the fetus. when i was born first, i took all the health and she only got what was left after.. but as i wrote before, she's been to 40 countries around the world for work, so she did well for herself, IMHO..

  oh, you're actually concerned with LOWER price? well, i guess, just wait till the rep gets thru the backlog to your post, he's good at it, sees anything and everything related to actual sales and work, even that we literally chat here day and night...

  Oh, not concerned, I'm very happy and surprised the price dropped :P

  I ended up jumping to GreenCloud in 2023 since they were advertising newer CPUs and latency Seattle <-> SJC wasn't horrible for my usecase of using the VPS as a development server (VSCode remote, paired with an anemic Thinkpad X230).

  I'm still living in Seattle and having something local would be nice (though I'm also looking at getting a cheap mini PC and using that over tailscale, and I've upgraded my laptop as well so I don't need remote development as much any more)

  oh now, 3.5yr difference. it's just I am rather healthy, tall and such, and she's rather weak, had asthma and bronchitis as a child, and similar... but we do look a lot alike.

  Double bandwidth is permanent. Once we apply it on our side, it sticks with your VPS for the entire life of the service (it’s not something that drops off after the first month or anything like that).
