Some flash sales in the EU would be great right now :)

You can expect some Dublin flash sales when the chef is around. Dustin did mention they are actively working on bringing some Dublin stock. And, from what I remember, any EU location works for you, right>?

YES! Any EU location would work. NY could work, but it's just waste of bandwith :D

I see. From what I can remember, RackNerd might have Dublin, France (Strasbourg, iirc) and Germany in stock during flash sales.

As resellers from OVH, Hetzner, or Leaseweb?

right? comes to mind as well. but TBH i wouldn't mind a Hetzner slice that'll only cost like $7/yr.. i never use that much CPU they offer, never need too much BW, my VPS use maybe 3-4TB/mo and CPU - peanuts, same for RAM, i mean, who wouldn't use more RAM if its there, but also I got that Gullo's VPS with 256MB and worked fine for me.. so i am always fine with 1vCPU and 1GB RAM for specs.. DISK doesn't matter at all..

I barely manage to use like 100 GB of bandwidth lol.
I should get like a 256 MB ram lxc vps tho. For cheap!

Scaleway stardust is the way forward.

you both using your own VPS for it or something?

    for what exactly?

    for image/screenshot hosting?

Here's the setup i have, a docker host running the zipline container with db offloaded to my DB server(with lsw) data source for zipline is set s3 (Backblaze b2). One can deploy zipline and db on a single server like many but i tend to separate my database servers from the runtime server. Screenshots are stored to b2 and i can enable replication for redundancy without doing any sort of backups, but i do make backups just in case.

wow.. that is tight. i just google "image host" and use whatever comes up 2nd or 3rd...

I mean i am really concious about giving my things to someone yes, even screenshots, thats the reason I have my own self hosted instances doing things. Remember if something is free you are probably the product.

yeah i don't blame you.. usually it's just ads/pops on your image is how those sites (image hosters) make money..

I use imgur for images like the ones I post here. I've had an account forever and it just works. Also don't need to publish everything. Publish means it will be posted publicly, not published/hidden means only those with the link can see it.

P.S. Just checked under my account settings, it's almost been a decade since I created an account on imgur: 2015-11-26 00:54:19 GMT

    Wow, that's an old account!!

yeah, I was like "it's been forever, I wonder if they tell me when my account was created" just to find they do! I dealt with micrsoft support to find out my hotmail account was created in early 2001. I did originally have a different hotmail account that I created in the late 90s but I forgot the password/got locked out and then created the new one.

oh, he meant your app, I thought he meant the images I've been posting

It's my image hosting service alright, my app is working like this, frontend is hosted on racknerd server with nginx, scraper is running at my homelab with read only api exposed to internet with cloudflare tunnel.

You use a hypervisor with your home lab? I used to use vcenter but the whole broadcom killing it after buying vmware made me jump ship to proxmox. Honestly though, I am likely proxmox better since there's more "enterprise" features compared to the free version of vsphere.

Proxmox is pure love 😘 also using the same was previously using plain docker.

I actually didn't know of proxmox before that happened but after broadcom bought vmware, I started looking for alternatives since everyone knew paying customers would get a huge increase in costs and they would probably kill the free versions.

I know they released a new free version of vsphere but requires a clean install, can't upgrade in place. I also don't trust them to keep releasing updates for it. Though as I said, proxmox has way better features that I'm not going back to vsphere. I do wish the proxmox folks allowed for a home lab license of sorts where you donate what you want and get access to the "enterprise" repo but still have no support (outside yourself and forums). Though I don't have any issues with the no-subscription repo

Well that's how I am doing things as well, just enable the repo when really want to upgrade else just disable the repos and only get based is updates. Been pretty stable like that for me.

Yeah, I thought about that but I just ignore upgrades until I have the time to do my nodes one by one. I have 3 mini pc/nuc like boxes. For awhile, I replicated data between them but got split brained too often that I switched to them just being clustered without replication. Though I can easily move/migrate to a different node if I want.

I did feel a little bad using pve-nag-buster but since there's no "homelab" option, I don't really feel that bad about it.

The Privacy Policy details the collection of user and device data, including IP addresses and information gathered via cookies for advertising, while also noting automatic removal of EXIF data from uploads and limited data retention. Great news! Los Angeles DC-03 has just been fully restocked w/ 60 NEW nodes now online :) This location is now available for deployment across all KVM VPS plans, including every VPS offer listed @ RackNerd.com/BlackFriday

This also means our first Black Friday VPS plan (1 GB RAM @ just $10.60/year) is now deployable in Los Angeles DC-03 for the first time since launching this sale!

Given the consistently high interest/demand for Los Angeles deployments, LA DC-03 restocks never last long. If history is any indication, these nodes will be filled up quickly, so if you've been looking to deploy a VPS in Los Angeles, now is the best time to do so!
