What’s your ticket ID? I was working on some issues with backups that people reported if that’s what yours is about too.

I also signed up for US beta test, canceled it since it was US and didn't realize there is SG location now, plus i have shared hosting with NameCrane. A bit late, but any chance for the beta pricing @Francisco? Thanks.

    Service closed?

We won't move the data, but we can reprovision you in the UK.

What was it at? What is it now?

    Francisco

  • Beta (at least the one I am in) is 100 GB.
My panel used to say 62/100 GB, now it says 0/100GB, but probably just recalcing :D

I wish one day backups would work, but as I heard it is still in #TODO.

Backups work fine, just the certificate expirations cause mysqldump to bomb out.

I'm going to order a wildcard certificate this week and swap everything to that, that way its a yearly thing instead of caddy + inotify misbehaving.

I mean I would guess we have different definition of "fine" if it not working.
Maybe code is, backups are not (-:

aka all my backups are 20B (empty gz) and/or FAILED status.

Sounds SSL related... on our end :)

    Which location?

    Databases & Users > EU (Amsterdam) > CRANEBASE-22898
I have there 60GB database, I am really interested how those backups works as it's 24/7 writes :-D

We use mysqldump with everything set to innodb by default. We can then use —single-transaction so it shouldn’t be locking tables.

    Not using Let's Encrypt?

@Francisco said: that way its a yearly thing

Yearly certs are going away eventually though. Max certificate lifetime will be dropping to 200 days next year, 100 days in 2027, and 47 days in 2029.

We do via caddy. I have an inotifywatch script that monitors the caddy cert folder then copies it over to MySQL, and issues a restart. Its not working right (though did in our dev stages).

I'll have to test it more if the cert's are getting dropped that hard, no point.
