No. Increasing prices will draw in competition. Because there will be new players who would want a slice of expensive pie. You can't jack up price and not expect competitor arrival.
Idk what you calculated but that's bullshit
We also have the enterprises edition and you don't need any money for a modification. And yes it's also ready for payments in the EU / Germany.
We payed extra money for extra modules (colocation, pterodactyl ) the SDK is also compleatly not needed.
If you compare the costs with whmcs you fully payed Hostbill in +- 1 year
make sense, but when the cost is high, the starting bar would be higher I guess.... like if everyone's cost is 7.5$/year, then it would be rare to see a $7/year deal as it is not sustainable...
SDK is needed if you want to develop module on your own. And for custom modules: hb gives you a choice: develop module with closed or open source, also “sponsored” development when module developed for you is latter released as hb product.

Sadly doesn't look like they support or have (yet) a generic EPP registrar module, but I do see a .ST Registry module, so that's good for us. I read the page for their Centralnic module but I'm unsure if it's for Centralnic resellers, which we are not, or Centralnic Accredited Registrars, which we are. With WHMCS, we use just a generic EPP module that works with any registry that supports RFC 5731, 5732, 5733, 5734 for our Centralnic Registry account.
One of my biggest issues with WHMCS right now is our pricing is really high because we have thousands of domain customers which honestly yield very little profit after you factor their "active client" status increases our WHMCS license tier.
My biggest motivation for considering a switch from WHMCS is a combination of cost savings (penny saved is a penny earned) and not being financially punished for business growth. I've even considered setting up a second platform specifically for domains that isn't WHMCS based just to get them out of WHMCS and into something more cost effective, but then, I'd have to manage two platforms. A headache that may not be worth the cost savings.
I'll try to set some time aside in the coming week to install and play with a few different platforms. I've gotten mixed reviews about Hostbill from those I know who use it. Some love it, some hate it. I guess there isn't any one size fits all approach and developing something in-house is far out of the question anyway.
Really sad for hosting providers!
2000 USD month for WHMCS Unlimited :O wtf?!
Even with these price increase, we all will still be using WHMCS. No other billing management is near them. We have directadmin against cPanel, that works great & somewhat better than cPanel. But we don't have a actual nice competitor against whmcs. Mainly its because of modules, rest i think all other can cover. We can customize the whmcs, add custom modules with 1000s of already available in market.
Correct me if i am wrong, i will switch to the new one if he has everything needed without any bugs.
Well... we switched from WHMCS to Hostbill and I would say it's even better, at least for our needs. And we switched to HB because there was no Dynadot module in WHMCS available and nobody seemed willing to develop it, while HB developed it for us and now it's included in the free tier... Also bug are corrected in a matter of hours or even minutes.
I forgot to add, they managed the migration from WHMCS for us, and they fixed all the post-migration issues.
Did they charged extra for this custom developement ?
Yes but it was a very reasonable fee.
Do you need the hostbill SDK to develop your own client theme/ordering pages?
Its great to see their efforts, usually no companies do that.
Hostbill is offering a 10% discount on all licenses for those who want to migrate from whmcs.
Does anyone know if Tenantos already have the Hostbill module?
Source?
Nope
You can contact them through their website and they will apply the discount
We purchased and they applied the discount for migrating from WHMCS
Pfff... and I paid the fucking full price... damn it!
Hostbill looks really nice. I know it also from another provider. Somehow it looks for a client nicer as the WHMCS client portal. Would be great to have a demo for the admin panel.
It's so crazy, what really do they believe is worth the price hike?
$29.95 to $34.95 without VAT a change of $5 per month, what's it going to be like in 2027?
300$ a month, inflation.
Same boat - we had more domains due to being strong in a ccTLD. WHMCS does not make sense for domain oriented companies.
Tried hostbill app last year- felt suffocating at the "admin" interface. Their team where quick to refund and no questions asked!
We will move in the future by adding a brand that runs on Blesta and one on a platform we are developing in house (it is a few thousand in development).
It is not easy to move away from WHMCS - They know and will continue to hike prices!
First step is difficult.
It doesnt seems mobile friendly. Their own websites client login doesnt have a mobile version
Sadly HostBill is a total mess to customize/theme. And it seems every update requires changes to custom themes which is super frustrating. WHMCS is tale and has its own issues but way less work to work with overall.
I have checked a view things and the whole migration process for us seems to be really hardcore, we also miss 1 or 2 modules which we would have to develop.
We could run it parallel to WHMCS so we would be able to reduce active clients in WHMCS but also this is not really a cool solution with 2 client portals.
Wish I had the time and resources to develop a WHMCS killer
Is Blesta out of the game? None has mentioned it as alternative.
We’ve been using Blesta without any issues, including with several custom modules and plugins we’ve sponsored through developers on their Discord group. With over 36,000 domains under management, Blesta has proven plenty. WHMCS was just not an option for us due to the domains and we’re glad we made that decision from the start.
