MailChannels is ending the Special Flat Pricing \ Looking for Reliable SMTP (CPANEL)

Looking for Reliable SMTP/Email Provider for Small cPanel Hosting (Outbound + Inbound Alternatives to MailChannels)

Hey everyone,

I just received an email from MailChannels saying my account on the “Special Flat Pricing” plan will be discontinued on November 30, 2025 and suggesting I move to the free tier (3,000 emails/month, 100/day).
That doesn’t fit my usage — I’m sending roughly ~30,000 emails/month across a small cPanel hosting setup — and their current public pricing (e.g., $79.99/mo for 40k emails) is too expensive.

I’m looking for recommendations for a reliable SMTP relay (outbound) with decent deliverability suited for shared/cPanel hosting, plus inbound filtering alternatives to MailChannels’ inbound service.

Since Mailchannels is "Killing" my Special Flat Pricing i will also stop using/paying for their Inbound Filtering around (≈50 domains ):

Special Flat Pricing is ending and support is pushing me to tiers that don’t make sense for this volume/cost.

Thanks in advance for any pointers!

So they’re killing the plan they put out to fuck with @interservermike ?

    Or is this something else?

OMG I have not thought about that in so long.

Yeah, that’s the same plan they introduced to push people toward MailChannels from Mail.baby. I actually signed up for it too but had a feeling they’d eventually end it. Glad I never switched. Mail.baby has improved a lot since then, works really well, and I’ve never faced any issues with it. Looking at their actual pricing, it was pretty clear they were never going to honor that special rate for long.

Also, @interservermike support has been fantastic.

We had our growing pains because they pulled the plug on us and that did not leach much time for us to figure out how to scale. Glad you guys are happy with it.

You would be under $10 per month with mail.baby for outbound.

@interservermike's Mail.Baby replaced MailChannels for us a few years ago! Honestly? I felt like I was getting the same quality for outbound filtering! Haven't looked back since!

I will try mail.baby for an big client of mine that does 50K emails /month. (Woocommerce) and if it works great i will implement it on my CPANEL Hosting.

But for Inbound Filtering what do you guys recommend?

  • I’d like to try Mail.Baby again, but I was wondering, is there an option to pay yearly instead of monthly? Receiving 12 separate $1 invoices feels a bit excessive.

  • We have been using jetemail.io and have been super impressed

Add prepay into your account and it will deduct from there.

  • I recommend mail.baby too

    To quote younger/thinner Francisco:

There's no 'what if'. The price is set for 12 months, after that it'll adjust up by 200 - 300%, minimum.

For 1M emails their pricing is $150/month. Even us, who had very grandfathered pricing, were paying $350/m+, with list price being $500/month. a 3x bump in price puts it under list price.

You should assume the price returns to $400 - $500/m for month 13 onwards.

    Hey LET community,

Ken from MailChannels here. I wanted to hop in and provide some clarity on the Special Flat Pricing changes that are being discussed.

First off, yes - we are ending the Special Flat Pricing offer that many of you have been using. I understand this is disappointing news for some of you, and I appreciate the feedback you're sharing here.

    A few important clarifications:

Who's affected: This change only impacts customers who were on month-to-month Special Flat Pricing plans. If you have a term agreement in place or made prepayments to lock in the special pricing, those arrangements remain honored until their expiration.

Our free tier might work for many of you: Looking at the actual usage patterns from Special Flat Pricing customers, the majority would actually fit comfortably within our free tier (3,000 emails/month, 100/day). For those who need more, our Email API pricing is quite reasonable - $10/mo for 10,000 messages or $15/mo for 50,000 messages.

Added value with Email API: All Email API accounts come with enhanced security features at no extra cost. You'll need to set up a Domain Lockdown record for each sending domain, which prevents any other MailChannels customer from spoofing your domains. Plus, you get access to our transactional email API with full delivery tracking, click events, and open events - features that typically cost significantly more with competitors like SendGrid, Amazon, and others. If you're developing applications or need detailed analytics, this is actually a pretty solid deal.

I know change is never easy, especially when it affects pricing. We're trying to balance sustainability with providing value, and I believe our current tiers offer competitive options for various use cases. Happy to answer any specific questions you might have about the transition or the Email API features.

    Cheers,
    Ken

  • All will migrate to mail.baby. The plan failed. That’s it.

The change impacts everyone. Most customers which are on month-to-month plans will be affected soon; the rest will see it later when their renewals come up.

You talk like a politician — dodging the real point and acting without regard for your business partners and customers, as has been proven in a multitude of occasions. Your ego blinds you, but it is very evident to everyone in the industry that you can not be trusted. I suggest letting your PR person deal with forums and social, as you clearly are unable to do so in a productive manner.

  • Would love to try @interservermike service but got skill issued by the “card verification process”, even when I offer to make payment & verify thru PayPal with the same email.

Your support agent replied me with “unfortunately that is the only verification option”.

How am I suppose to keep looking at the “ 2 charges” you made to notice the “amount” to verify it. Man not every bank & card working the same as your one, I have access to my card mobile application and keep waiting for the charges (that never comes).

Please Mike, let me know how to use your service. Thanks a lot!

Send me something to look up your account and I will bypass the cc verify.

Honestly, MC's post here did not strengthen their case. If anything, The Baby's getting more traffic!

    @wowfall Give Mail.Baby a shot!

We've been utilizing Mail.baby with all of our shared/reseller hosting servers since January 2021 (so almost 5 years now), and have absolutely no complaints. Mike is always great to work with, too :)

You have a bug in SPF.
You made a typo in this netblock.

    ip4:174.138.180.152/2 9 <-- space between 2 and 9

    should be
