  • For the last 9 hours with MTR'ing to 1.1.1.1, I caught 0,9% packet loss (on the first gw hop and the last CF hop).

I'm a bit upset because this country and network have the lowest latency from my location. I have a lot of use cases if it were just stable.

And I still think that the problem may be in old (?) gateway hardware. IDK what to do, I even agree to sponsor somehow (prepay dedicated for a year, maybe) if they only will change hw and fix the network.

    It's very, very upsetting. :(

on a dedicated or a vps?

nah, they upgraded this year. i think they just route every vps without proper balancing and suspend vps which use too much (i saw posts on the forum about vps suspensions after YABS, actually my own vps was suspended on the first day but i don't remember why and it was resolved)

just move to another provider, they don't care

0.9% loss overnight on a dedi is unacceptable. can you give me your ip?

Maybe it is, but quite annoying when you SSHing something and BUM! disconnected.
    Check PM for IP.

even 10% average loss shouldn't disconnect you from SSH, you may have a different problem than their network. i'll add your ip to my smokeping

  • host/vpsslim sadly not recommended!

At least last month and this month I paid with just 1xVAT (without paddle Vat)

do you still have mine in there? I've tried to talk with Ralph about this network issue but at least my VM was fine back then. I'll attach a screenshot in a sec

i removed it some time ago, can't explain wtf was happening but it showed downtime when it was fine on your nezha dashboard and i really didn't want to investigate, so im not sure what was the issue there. (i remember that your dashboard showed high latency to some services, maybe that's the reason because my smokeping is set up for a 1 second timeout)

Thanks for the heads up. There are no general network issues. Our NOC checked as well. We checked on several dedicated servers. But, since you have a VPS, it might be node related. We discussed this and we will check this today and solve the spikes if possible. It looks like it's isolated to two nodes and it can be caused by "noisy" neighbors. So we are double checking everything.

Please send me a PM with your ticket ID. I can look into your specific server. It might be an issue outside our network, but I want to double check for you.

Monitoring in process for now because the night from Fri to Sat was horrible with ~0,9% packet loss, yesterday night (Sat-Sun) was zero loss.

Can you please enable IPv6 for further monitoring (ticket 879773)?

so i was chatting with @SashkaPro and he told me that his ssh dropping issue is the same i had in january (my ip was used on another vps and it was switching between every minute). There is really no one to fix network problems at hostslim.

i tried assigning random ips to my vps and it doesn't work for already occupied ips, but works for ips which aren't used by anyone, so this is just a bug which no one cares to fix properly

yeap everything working fine here :)

Ralph told me the network issues are fixed, and from a quick look, they do seem at least a bit better

my vps was down for 10 minutes today, was that because of his fixing?

@zGato does your network graph not show downtime? only network latency? usually there are reports for every minute but for https://dash.zgato.dev/server/101 between 13:00 and 15:00 utc there are only a few reports, does that mean downtime for like 2 hours? (except for a few minutes of life in between)

  • yes, now it works.

and I hate you even more, so many idlers!
