  • @DataWagon would you put your network up against OVH's too?

  • oday I placed an order for a VPS-2 plan. I used to be a Contabo customer, but their renewal prices increased significantly. At one point, I experienced a long and unexpected downtime, and when I contacted their support, the attitude was very unfriendly with no compensation offered.

My client who has servers in contabo was also moving to OVH even before this new lineup.
I don't think he will try contabo again considering the shittiness of their servers/service.

  • I'm testing the cheapest VPS and it looks like it works well enough, it might well replace one of the KS-LE-* monsters, however there does not seem to be a console? There's the rescue mode of course but I thought a console/VNC was pretty standard these days.

Except for the Asia-Pacific region, unlimited bandwidth services are available in all other regions

  • @Levi said: More interesting is the fact that ovh tries to fck up contabo :) . There is a table with prices bellow plans. 0,01€ cheaper than contabo. Will we see answer from contabo?

The only reason Contabo had an advantage was cheaper prices, not the case anymore.

Same here, since their prices are not competitive anymore after an almost +50% price increase I was looking at Netcup but this offer from OVH is quite attractive as well. Wish they were offering more than 75GB, though.

Most likely because it emits too much heat and consumes too much power per rack unit (U)

  • Didnot find anything about bandwidth in singapore. Is it unlimited?

They don't release APAC location yet. When launching, It should be with limited bandwidth as they did before that location.

    But who knows~?

    Bottom of the page.

Our VPS solutions in the Asia-Pacific region (Mumbai, Singapore, Sydney) come with a set monthly quota: 1 TB for VPS-1 and VPS-2, 3 TB for VPS-3 and VPS-4, 4 TB for VPS-5 and VPS-6. Beyond this, the bandwidth is capped at 10 Mbps.

  • OOS in US-VA?

  • With such plans and pricings I'm wondering if they are gonna oversell and then CPU_STEAL goes brrrrrr. Hmm....

  • looks nice on paper, up to 3gbit unmetered sounds unreal for that price - we'll see how long that lasts.

but also only monthly prices vs. hourly on many competitors now.

Theyve been offering that for years on their VPS.
    Anyone tried a VPS-6 yet?

They get more performance per watt on AMD compared to Intel sir, so that logic makes no sense.

They'll add the servers to discovery range in Public Cloud, and thus be hourly paid when that is done.

  • Translated from the French mailing list.

x86 cores are used for the traditional DC offering of Intel Xeon (VPS 2026 will arrive in Local Zones a little later!).

Since the offering is scalable, we don’t specifically communicate about the Xeon models, as this may change (either depending on geography or on supply). We guarantee 4 x86 vCores for the base VPS.

    Ah, good catch, thanks.

Where did you heard that? I just checked their github, no mention of change coming on the discovery plan.

  • Could anyone who bought VPS-1 a week ago please run YABS again? Is the GB6 still good? (@Arirang got 1200/3600 on Aug 7).
