OVH release new plans

Hi.

I found something at OVH.
OVH has released new VPS plans which is XEON.
Epyc Plans seem to have retired.

They offer plenty of ram and cpu before and a lot of features they didn't offer such as free backup or additional disk with fee.

Plan example :
4 vCore
8 gb
75 gb nvme
$ 4.9 without commitment

For now it's not bad. It may be fresh node.
Intel 4 vCore is better than AMD 2 vCore for pricing around $5.
If your application is multi-threaded, it is a good deal.

The ordering page has also changed in style, and includes daily backups for free.

You can see Intel on the address bar. Mine is Haswell. Too old!

I saw it, I don't know why they gave up on AMD

This is just how the set their virtualization to report CPU in the VM. Host xeons are way more modern than haswell era cpu.

On other note. OVH why the fuck we can't have nice things in WAW DC?

If they get Singapore for around same price, I'd say it'll be cheapest non-blackfriday monthly Singapore deal.

  • Is OVH a good quality VPS provider? I’m considering between it and GreenCloud (dedicated core).

    OVH > GreenCloud

  • Hetzner is not 160Mbps xD theyre 10gbps

  • Interesting, that they went with Intel, not AMD considering AMD performance per $.

Hetzner is not 160Mbps xD theyre 10gbps

They are probably calculating how much bandwidth you can use 24x7.

  • Wow, that is pretty great value.

What I don't like is how limited the North America region is (Australia is apparently North America... Okay buddy). I don't want to have all of my services in BHS, would like for Hillsboro location to be an option.

  • It's still out of stock in Singapore.
Who's been lucky enough to get one?

Only OVH US customers can buy from US locations.

    Wow. That's stupid as fuck.

    I don't want a third OVH account.

    What's the real CPU model?

It's hidden in the system. The placeholder model they use is Haswell, and the performance also seems to line up with Haswell, but it's not confirmed.

  • How good is ovh? I have a servarica's kvm plan with 8 gb ram , 250 gb nvme & 2 dedicated epyc cores for 5$/month , works good but ovh is offering better pricing for something similar , should i just wait & see if they oversell?

What's the GB6 score of those 2 dedicated cores? 250GB NVMe will be hard to beat.
