    Best wishes!

  • hi, my real name is Roni, I am from Bangladesh( a very small country)
im a linux enthusiast and love tinkering around. Also love to chat in znc servers. I will be able to host znc in the vps and "vs code server" container to code in it from wherever I want. and will be able to host and test my own projects there.
Hope I can get a hand on a vps

@xlinuxx Hi Roni! All the VPSes on this server already are allocated. Sorry! Maybe I can get you a VPS on another server before too long. Best wishes! Tom

  • Hi @Not_Oles ! Maybe you could edit the OP to mention that all vps are already taken?

@BasToTheMax Editing the OP would be a great idea, but I don't think I can do it any more since I gave up my moderator tag. To me, it's nice just being a guy and not having more privileges than other members. Nevertheless I remain grateful to my friends who are members of the Modeation Team. They do a lot of useful and important volunteer work to make LET better.

as your virtually legal representative of one or more of your many free vps related ventures i suggest you simply sign each post with some sort of indication of availability to save people time posting requesting an unavailable vps.

additionally i'm expressing mild interest and vague surprise that the usefulness of such an indicator didn't occur to the board of directors.

    Wonderful progress!

Our Alexhost server is back up, with disks replaced and with the OS reinstalled. Thanks @alexhost! <3

I plan to double check whatever I can plus also try installing some KVM VPSes.

As you can see from the Yabs, we have 40 cores, 256 GB RAM, and 2 TB disk, which should be RAID 10 (though the Yabs doesn't show the RAID existence or level).

Thanks again, Alexhost! Great job getting the server fixed and back up again quickly! :star:

    Tom

Dear friend, could I have the honor to get a Debian 12 virtual machine? I would like to use it for charity projects and benefit the public. Thank you very much!

Hi @naxuhf! Nice to meet you! Right now the @fmxm server in Los Angeles (Thanks @fmxm! <3) is fully assigned. So no Debian 12 VMs are available at the moment. Hopefully more will become available before too long. Best wishes!

  • Nice initiative encouraging FOSS development and projects!

as your virtually legal representative of one or more of your many free vps related ventures

Maybe you might consider becoming the virtually illegal representative of one of my ventures? :)

i suggest you simply sign each post with some sort of indication of availability to save people time posting requesting an unavailable vps.

I thought about mentioning availability in my signature. Right now it's interesting to see how many people are posting despite the existence of "fully allocated / all gone" posts.

additionally i'm expressing mild interest and vague surprise that the usefulness of such an indicator didn't occur to the board of directors.

Thanks for mentioning the board. Maybe you might contribute financially and join the board? <3

    Best wishes!

Hi @allthemtings! Yes, it's still possible to get a free FOSSVPS. But not for a few days. Our LA node (Thanks @fmxm! <3) is fully allocated. Nine happy users there! Our three new nodes are being provisioned, installed, and tested (Thanks OnlyServers, Alexhost, and [esteemed, soon-to-be-named Provider]! <3

    @alveox Email received. Thanks!

As I mentioned above, all the VPSes on this LA server already are assigned.

But, there should be several other servers ready soon. In England and in Moldova. So please keep in touch.

Anything I can do for you, please ask.

    Best wishes!

That's awesome, thank you for the update!

I'll be needing a VPS later this year, around November or December, for a six-month period. The server location doesn’t matter, so any location would be totally fine.

I'll definitely stay in touch. Really appreciate your willingness to help

    HI @FunFap!

As mentioned above, all the VPSes on this LA server already are assigned.

There will be other servers coming up soon! So please keep watching LET!

    Best wishes!

  • I would like to support a small to medium sized FOSS projects by utilizing one of your nodes to host a source code mirror for the compilation process, the project I have in mind only has one mirror and a little while ago this mirror went down for a period where no one could compile the project I think this would be a great use for this.

If you'd like I can send you more detailed information in private.

Good morning, evening, hope all is good wherever you are!

One of our wonderful LA users is moving on, so a VPS should become available shortly. Also, I might give away the VPS that was reserved for testing with the understanding that FOSSVPS needs to stay on it with you or might even grab it back. So the count might be two VPSes available shortly.

VPS specs are in the OP, here: https://lowendtalk.com/discussion/207618/free-los-angeles-kvm-vps-2-vcores-2-gb-ecc-ram-80-gb-ssd-100-mbps

If you want an LA VPS, please post in this thread. Please tell us (1) what you want to run on your VPS and (2) why we should give a free VPS to you. (3) If you don't mind sharing the test VPS with the FOSSVPS Team, please let us know. In a day or two, we will look over the applications and pick somebody for the free VPS and maybe somebody else, if anyone wants it, for the test VPS.

Thanks to @fmxm for this wonderful server donation! <3 Thanks to @babywhale and BashVM for making the VPSes!<3

Maybe I know you enough by now that you don't need to post any more?

How do you feel about sharing the test VPS with me? Bearing in mind that I'm not using it for any continuously running service.

If you are okay with sharing with me, please give me your ed25519 ssh public key. I will put your key into the VPS and let you know when it's ready.

    Thanks!
