The 13th anniversary Hong Kong VPS purchased from hosthatch has been down for 7 days.

The 13th anniversary Hong Kong VPS promotional package I purchased from Hosthatch has been down for nearly 7 days. I have submitted several support tickets, but no one has responded. The VPS is still running the website, which is critical for the site's operations. Has anyone else encountered this issue?

@hosthatch Could the administrator of hosthatch please pay attention to the user.

  • The translation is incorrect. I submitted a ticket and received a reply, but still no one can get the VPS to start normally.

  • It seems they may not auto-restart?
Have you tried manually start the VM on the dashboard?

I try to start it from the dashboard every day, but it won't start. It has been down for 7 days and still hasn't been resolved. I feel very helpless!

  • My Hong Kong VPS was down for about 1.5 hours last week when they fixed an issue with the host node and had to perform an unscheduled reboot on the host node to complete the repair. After that it has been running fine. Although out of 5 locations I bought from their last sale, Hong Kong has been the least stable of them (99.92% uptime compared to the rest 99.99+%+). I'm still happy with them though.

Either way, if you are running production on your VPS you should always buy the full price package to get priority support from HostHatch, your ticket is probably way down the queue because you bought the promo package.

Should promotional products be listed last? My VPS has been down for 7 days, which is really frustrating

Promotional products are cheap because support is not readily available.

When you buy a promo package, you agree with that in the agreement.

I have a HH Japan server. And to be honest, I won't expect any support on that server. So it just hosts hobby projects but for professional server, I'll use different provider.

I complained a lot in the ticket with HH for the HK network and hardware issues which brought 3 (1 auto, 2 manual) reboots with 48+15+10 minutes downtime during 7/25-7/26, but its uptime is still >99.9% across last 2 months.
I bought that in the last flash sale.

My Hong Kong VPS started to crash on the 25th and has been unable to start ever since. I also purchased a 3-year VPS from FlashBuy

  • That is really terrible even though it's a flash deal

It indeed changed my perception of HostHatch, even though I have several VPS on HostHatch

  • If your server cannot boot, I think you can open an emergency ticket.

Even though it is a flash sale, HostHatch should obey its own terms:

    https://hosthatch.com/terms-of-service#warranties-hosthatch

HostHatch warrants that the Service(s) shall be provided in a workmanlike and professional manner. Upon HostHatch breach of the foregoing warranty, Customer’s sole and exclusive remedy shall be to require HostHatch to exercise commercially reasonable efforts to repair or replace the nonconforming Service(s)

and this is probably a reason why yours emergency tickets are no longer emergency tickets :-D

  • The HK Compute went down another time.
Being notified by my monitor and
turned it on after 6 minutes.
    4th reboot since 7/25.

  • I used to have a HH HK vps and it had several issues. I requested them to change it to SG and after which I had no problems. I have faced this same issue several times specifically on their HK infra which based on my personal experience appears to be somehow inferior to their other locations.

I have used both their promo and non-promo products - In the end, their price point is fantastic, but the quality and speed (of support) is dismal for production usage (for non-promo products).

Yeah mine also went down for 20 minutes earlier.

I wanted to buy a HK storage VPS to go along with the compute VPS but now I'm more convinced that I should look for a SG storage server instead :frowning:

  • 7 days downtime 😧

There are lot of gems here on LET and many people use them for damn serious business.

Sorry but I don't agree with your point 🥲

If you can't afford downtime and you dont have backup/ alternatives, its on you.

    Even big names have issues

So yeah serious business will do extra to keep high availability setup incase of downtime.
Thats also called Disaster Recovery (DR)

Ditch your HH VPSes and switch to GreenCloudVPS. Support is there anytime you need help, they don't tag/label customers based on whether they're on a promotion package or not . Thank me later.

I don't know if I'd rather have GC AI supports and having to wait weeks for shit to be done, or just ticket HH and have someone that can actually do stuff do it in a few days.

I've opened very few HH tickets and those have been handled very fast, even for stupid stuff like route optimizations, which I had to wait weeks for GC to fix.

HH manages their network and their stuff, GC doesn't, and is always relying on third party DCs and stuff, which is a pain when issues arise.

  • Out of the 5 locations I bought only Hong Kong compute VPS has some downtime issues anyway (also ipv4 routing seems to be a bit weird, but I'm using ipv6 so it's fine). Even then, it maintains 99.9+% uptime. The rest have been stable with only a few minutes downtime.

You my man, I'm quite sure you're not tagged as a cheapskater.

I've had a very good experience with GC. An actual human replied with solution within minutes.

I even renewed a GC VPS that I got from you just a few days ago, never had any issues smooth af.

To everyone, this is a recurring issue, HH never taken its CS division seriously. You'll see another thread in the future.

  • I'm extremely frustrated. The VPS is still down, and I'm about to lose it.
