Oh no, another update.
debian thx
I've been running Trixie on couple servers for some months, I wanted the newer version of chrony or Postgresql. Too bad they are still stuck with ancient caddy 2.6.2 (October 2022 release) and you have to add extra repo to get the recent versions.
Not a problem. I have Debian 5 running in prod. Everyone afraid to touch it. But it runs, good girl Debian.

ansible playbook to upgrade all my vps to debian 13, good luck y'all
sudo apt update
sudo apt dist upgrade
reboot (server never comes back online)
No, no, I don't want a new update!!!
Debian 12 will be supported for another three years (presumably, until the end of August 2028), so there'll be no need to upgrade immediately!
That's about how long it will take me to upgrade my dozens of idlers
if its too much I can take those 3 dollah ones, thanks
Meanwhile some sh*thosts in 2025:
No 3$, best I have is 5$/y. I like big disk, big RAM, big CPU and big money loss
I know some but not here so won't name em.

Isn't it 3 years from release? So June 2026. Still mañana for now
already daily driving it on my laptop 😏
already trying / using Debian13 Trixie on some servers for the last 2-3 months. Solid as rock as usual.
I even upgraded some of my RDP servers. Almost zero problems.
Thank you Debian team for this awesome distribution.
How do you arrive at June 2026?
Can someone who has it already installed check if you can still change ssh port in sshd_config
I've read that you need to change the port via systemd now?
It’s like that on Ubuntu 24.04 already, not that hard but yeah some ansible playbooks might have to be changed if that’s the case for Debian 13
Yes, you can still change the port via
sshd_config. Just tested on Debian 13 RC2.Debian 12 was released in June 2023. +3 years makes it June 2026.
