How's WebDAV going? It's a nice feature. I'm still waiting, but by what date?

Smartermail hasent said anything yet. Our dev hasn’t had a chance to look into it more.

    Have you asked @yoursunny

In the age of data breaches, I don't use my legal name anywhere, but they changed the name on my account to the name of my PayPal, I noticed. Which is just great, another database with my information in it, where it's not needed for any functional reason.

We're open to feedback on improving the flow :)

I understand it's important to be sure you're not getting scammed by people, but I think it's only you, OVH and Hetzner that are this strict (in terms of both location + name). It's more common that companies have no-VPN rules for new customers, though I feel that's maybe only 50%.

Great that you are open to feedback.

    From my previous post:

@rekt said: From attempting to purchase, my understanding is that we cannot use a corporate billing address for purchases unless you also are submitting that order from an IP address within a km radius near that billing address?

Irrespective of selecting PayPal as the payment method (with matching email address, physical address etc.), as it's blocked before even being able to attempt to pay.

It is rather confusing for a business oriented offering and rather trivial for real fraudsters to get around.

Just wanted to check if the above is indeed the intended behaviour and it is essentially set in stone for all cases.

So it sounds like maybe it's not set in stone? My order from today is stuck and I'm essentially wanting to know if gymnastics will be required. The only issue is that I simply don't live personally (ip address) at a corporate billing address. I did not have this issue with OVH (both CA/EU and US), Hetzner or any other provider.

    My feedback would be:
Expecting the billing address to match with the user's current IP within a certain km radius does not make sense, especially for a business product. I'd say it's exceedingly common for individuals to not be located at their business billing address, it is a separate entity. There are ~2m companies in Delaware for example and the population is ~1m.

Also, if the address is valid enough to be valid for PayPal, then I would hope that it should be valid enough for Namecrane irrespective of the IP address - especially because bypassing this IP issue would be kindergarten level for any fraudster.

Can we get this for multi user login please?

    https://roundcubeplus.com/plugins/multibox

Something similar to this is now available :)

I've got Roundcube setup in EU as well, so everyone should be good to go.

You can login to it via https://workspace.org/

AFAIK they moved where catch all is handled in the newest version.

You’re welcome on Roundcube. Let me know how we can improve it.

I did manage to get it setup last week, I forgot to clear the auto-saved draft comment from this post before I posted about RC, haha, oops.

How recent did they move catchall?

I've tried to login to Roundcube for my EU account using the link quoted (https://workspace.org), and it keeps failing.

  • VoidVoid Member

Apologies if this has already been asked, but is there a feature or setting in Catchall that allows us to reply using the same email address the message was originally received on?

FWIW, it's nowhere near as strict as you make it sound - my IP rarely geolocates in the right country (although still UK), and is usually one or two hundred miles out, but I've never tripped their fraud stuff.

Certainly from the history of BuyVM they haven't exactly struggled for customers (most complaints are about lack of stock) so it doesn't seem likely that they're driving away all legit customers...

Sorry if I have missed this anywhere, but if you turn on 2fa can you still use rclone? Or do you need a non 2fa account for that?

Nothing custom to us. You can always plug it into an FTPS client. I know I used one on my phone while testing FTPS and it worked great.

WEBDAV is still on the TODO list.

  • Ah ok thought it maybe nextcloud or owncloud or similar

Are we able to backup the messages in a mailbox to our own storage? I remember a comment about the different options. Can't find the current status. No rush, imap backup works just fine for now.

I haven't finished any sort of remote backup option yet, been a bit tied up on some big hardware changes on the shared side.

It'll happen, just want to make sure we don't turn it into a massive resource hog in the process.

Is there a demo login for workspace.org?

Is it for the reseller plan possible that the users enable the plugins from SmartMail, like OpenAI?

workspace.org is just a whitelabel SSO page. It generates SSO tokens and redirects you to the correct node. It also exposes Spamexperts for end users (something cPanel/DA doesn't offer).

Past that, there isn't any portal to it. In the future we'll allow full branding of the page (basic options for colours, etc, as well as full stylesheet injection if you want).

Alright good, so I have the possibility to install the SmarterMail plugins?

Is there any possibility to get anonaddy or simplelogin or duck like functionality. I don't mean catchall aliases but onthefly alias generation/deletion. That would be the single feature I am most interested in.

@Francisco I am new to all this but can you please tell if we can use this service to send emails via api? I mean alerts, notifications to website users using some python script which gets triggered after user action on website?
