cannot believe this got 10k views wtf
What do you mean?
He is a clown. It’s not a place to haggle…. He’s not Del Boy… let’s be realistic: It’s 3 months.
Otherwise, you look like a 🤡.
We initially hosted our servers within a cabinet company operating under Aurologic's infrastructure. Since we are not based in Germany, we attempted to send replacement parts by cargo for installation. Unfortunately, this process failed over a period of 4 months despite paying local personnel to assist. The lack of responsiveness resulted in significant financial losses. Fortunately, we have since migrated our operations to the Czech Republic, where we are currently working with a highly responsive and supportive team.
I honestly don’t care about the details it’s not worth going to court over a few k
How the fuck you can 'process failed' when shipping items from inside EU? There is no customs, there is no 3rd world gov taking a bribe. Package it, send by DHL, have it in datacenter in next 3 days.
Moar info.
Details.
MOAR.
DRAMA.
Same, but I would tell him to GTFO out of principle. If you owe 3K — you owe 3K.
If you are still a child (mentally), don’t do business with adults and then be surprised you have to pay the full bill.
and you’re surprised by that?
Thanks for pointing out there's no customs – we genuinely didn’t know, that helps.
But here's the core issue: every time we ship to Aurologic, the courier tries delivery 3 times, says no one is available, and returns the package.
We even pay the datacenter staff to pick it up from the local branch, but they still don’t go.
So we’re paying for shipping, paying for handling – and still getting nothing delivered. That’s where the problem is. Not customs. Not DHL. Just zero responsibility at the final step.
any communication why ?
The mental resources this has cost so far alone is worth more than proving a point, and it’ll cost way more until its done
Delivery is sometimes hopelessly bad. Sometimes they make it literally impossible to pick up unless you stand outside all day waiting.
Average DHL experience. I hope that company defaults as soon as possible.
At a datacenter I somewhat expect that somebody is always there.
Experienced a lot of weird stuff, from shipment ending up in the wrong country, or the data-center rejecting a delivery for some odd reasons, but never ever had one where 3 delivery attempts failed because nobody is there
Different entrances for different things, having to call them, explain why you are there, etc, etc. A lot of drivers from foreign countries that do not speak the English and claim that they tried, but essentially: they haven't done jack shit. IMHO.
but where is your imprint / impressum on your website?
FWIW I understand @jh_aurologic among other (obvious one should think) reasons, because if a company allows publicly haggling about their basic terms they might as well write "pay or don't pay just as you like and how much you like" on their website and in their contracts.
As a side note, oh how convenient (for @AS203446) that someone else crawled out of some hole and tried to smear aurologic - without any evidence, of course and to top it off with grave lack of logic.
Well, I guess @AS203446 now will get what he ordered ...
We dont have a customer called "befahost", nor do we have the case that someone takes shipments on pickup. Beside of that, there are multiple people who pickup hardware if needed.
Hit me a message including your customer-id/ticket-id if you're experiencing issues with that - in case you are really a customer with aurologic, which I highly doubt.
Overall we have quite a lot of deliveries nowadays since our customers usually ship their equipment. The typical package couriers know how to bring parcels in, which can be fun when you get multiple palettes of equipment delivered, you need to rack ASAP 😄
From aurologic side, two racks planned out for the next 6 weeks to go live, just to give a idea 😊
Does it really still have to come to this, even after all these years?
A lot has happened in our little hosting world. There have been arguments, harsh words, and perhaps some broken trust along the way. But over time, we’ve all grown. Each of us in our own way. And many of us have learned that it's more worthwhile to treat each other with respect and look for solutions, instead of continuing old battles.
I had my own disagreements with Alex in the past. And I know that Joseph also faced his share of friction. Still, I look back fondly on some of the human moments we shared. Like when Alex and Joseph enjoyed a cheese schnitzel together at Frankfurter Küche on Hanauer Landstraße. Or that one evening when Alex and I picked up a beer at Thai Express near the Digital Realty campus (back when it was still Interxion) before taking photos together. These were simple, honest moments.
Maybe it's worth consciously remembering those times. They show that despite all differences, there was also connection. And maybe that’s where the courage can come from, take a step back and talk things through once again.
When people meet on equal footing and speak honestly, it becomes possible to address even the difficult topics. It’s possible to talk openly about what these expenses truly mean for Alex. And to understand what financial impact the loss of an IP transit contract would actually have for Joseph.
I know I haven’t been close to either of you recently. But maybe that’s exactly why I’m writing this. Because I believe there’s still a chance for something good to come out of everything you’ve built, experienced, and gone through together. Not for the sake of the forum or the outside world. But simply for yourselves. Out of respect for the past, and for what might still lie ahead.
@AS203446 @jh_aurologic
Please don't misunderstand my efforts though, i prefer to still go our separate ways after all. Still feeling sorry for what might have went wrong on my side knowing you have had your struggles too.
Peace and out!
bro we're not here for fond memories, we're here for teeth and claws and blood. belay that warm fuzzy nonsense.
Are you somehow high or drunk?
Just for reference, was this two schnitzels or was one schnitzel shared between the two?
I had a Schnitzel, Joseph had a steak burger.
Thank you for clarification.
That explains a lot.
Did you guys share bites or would that be a bit too personal?
Alright. Had you shared a Schnitzel I think that could have created a bond that might have prevented this.
We didn't share our food.
Wow you Had dinner together, yet you cant communicate together regarding Contract times or the Future of your business Relationship or meet a Agreement.
That was in October 2022, but yes, you are right, we didn't find an agreement.
